Yep. It goes waaaay over people’s heads. Many people think it’s religious, and stop watching. Others think that it’s just a dramatic version of survivor, and again skip it. It’s kind of funny because these are sort of the themes that are a part of the show… The ones who want people to watch the show are like Jacob, who see the potential for that person to get over something and be of greater use to the world, if they just reach the “island”. Which is the show itself…
I loved how later on Jack would defend his former rival/adversary John Locke by telling the Man in Black he was an insult to Locke's memory by impersonating him.
It is so sad and highly criminal that this generation hasn't seen LOST. LOST is the most epic and powerful show Ive ever seen. And the best thing I did was show it to my kids who were in high school. They were so moved by it! Im so thankful that at that age that they were, they fully understood the undertones of LOST. The meaning of it.They absolutely appreciated the phenomenal dialogue and diverse cast. The character archs and how everyone was connected in some way. Light vs. Dark. They got all that. They were crying their hearts out at the end. Now that they're older they tell me "We wish we could erase our memory of it just to watch it all over again and feel all those feelings for the first time and hear the music for the first time!" They yell "We have to go back! We have to go back mom!"😂😂 Micheal Giacchino created the most moving score for this show omg! When I hear life and death or Oceanic 6 theme it just makes me so nostalgic to the wonderful memories I got to make with my kids. Now its their turn to one day show their kids. And I know they will. NEVER LET THIS SHOW DIE!
John Locke was the number 1 choice and candidate for Jacob to be protector of the island. It’s understandable why the smoke monster would hate him since Jacob loved him
How he could play two characters in different ways of actions! How did he play the role of the good person and the role of the evil character!! that was amazing.
John Locke was important, his hard upbringing and misfortunes never really broke him. When he gets to the island able to walk again proves how important he was, the Island needed John, he asked the right questions that would eventually lead Jack to becoming a believer and killing the the mib. He found the hatch as well, I mean how else would our boy Desmond be relieved of pushing that button.
I find it fascinating that the one character that wants to stay on the island (the state of nature) rather than go back to civilization was a guy named John Locke.
The slow change in dymanic in season 6 where Jack goes from being the antithesis to John Locke to being his number 1 defender was profoundly fascinating to watch.
Cause he was a sucker, there is some truth in that. The writers were brave and wise, and it's why this show is so freaking good! If they gave you what you wanted or expected, it'd be a mediocre show. 😊
I've been obsessed with this show since it first aired out, and after seeing it like 20 times , I can finally watch just to appreciate the AMAZING actors like Terry. Damn, he was so perfect for these contrasting roles and portrayed them so well. Even without speaking, you could tell by his facial expression and body posture whether he was MIB or John. Amazing skill.
This show is so crazy!! If you blink, you miss something. I've never seen a show where I have to keep rewatching episodes before. The main thought in my head is that Charlie is the most useless person on the island. What might Jack and Sayid been able to get out of Nathan if that idiot didn't kill him? His last deed was his only good one.
@@gullyasmr3987 well yes but I wanted to say I think in reality he didnt want the bad humans to come into their peaceful world or to enter heaven via this island gate. I think thats the real sense of what he has meant 😅
@@stillgotyourmom true 😂 I agree it’s a complicated story with him. They should do a show dedicated for Smokey and how he got the powers and if it’s like an ancient curse or something
the reason why the smoke monster couldn't leave the island is because he was tethered to the "source" (the pocket of electromagnetism at the centre of the Island. which is also the collective consciousness for all of life, and the glue that holds reality together) The smoke monster would have to turn that off to escape the island. Essentially turning the power off for all reality. so yeah, pretty catastrophic.
I liked Locke but when he beat up Charlie, that kinda shattered my opinion of him. You find out that Charlie really was clean and it seemed that Locke just wanted to beat up someone
