I feel what the fans really want is a tv series ...... These movies aren't cutting it. Maybe it's the hype, maybe it's mental preparation, but these movies are "enjoyable" to a point but very much lack the background build up and belief that a show can give ...... the movie is too fast, a problem that scorpion revenge also has. But, the story is more developed and focused on one character. This story doesn't focus on anything, it's all very fast and very badly ezplaneid! Good decisions, bad narrative.

im laughing because of how disappointed he is. i was appalled by this movie, Stryker was done so dirty and Kung Lao. I wanted to see more of Li Mei and Jade. Maybe Kintaro other than throwing a tree

@Chandler zzstu Leslie I did feel bad for my boy Kung, no one should be able to catch and use Kung Lao’s hat on him, but it is Shao Kahn, so it’s kinda debatable, only Kung Lao should have been able to catch or dodge his hat as Shao Kahn threw it at him, and this is a master Shaolin Monk we are talking about here, yet Shao Kahn has centuries of experience and a crazy amount of inner power to probably be able to do what he did to Kung Lao. I am conflicted with how Kung’s death was handled here, and it was better than Live Action Mortal Kombat 2021 death that he had by Shang Tsung. Being killed by Shao Kahn should be an accolade in itself. The politics did kinda suck yes, but I am glad how Shao Kahn was portrayed here and Shinnok too.

Mortal Kombat 11 was a bust and got very boring for me very fast, and supposedly it was going to be the longest MK game to keep getting updates and upgrades, but sadly, it was that boring and time wasting (no pun intended) that Netherrealm pulled the plug on it already and are now looking at their next game, either Mortal Kombat 12 or Marvel vs. DC maybe? (One can hope) In terms of the animated movies, I think they are pretty good, not great, but they are very entertaining and it’s awesome to see the characters that we all played as and grew to love that were presented in those animated movies. So I still say that I am glad that we are getting anything MK related for the time being, because there were times when we didn’t get anything Mortal Kombat anymore, and it was after Armageddon, which was a very sad time. There were no more MK video games, no more MK movies, comics, NOTHING. After Armageddon, I legit thought that Mortal Kombat was finally dead and buried, even with MK vs. DC right after a few years later, it still felt like a dead franchise that needed DC to keep it alive, and then after MK vs. DC, some years had passed with no MK news whatsoever. Then finally we got a bad ass new looking Mortal Kombat video game trailer for PS3 and XBOX 360, and of course it was Mortal Kombat 9, and the rest is history.

Another thing is he pretty much kicked Shao Khan's ass, why the hell was he having so much trouble with Shang Tsung. I really hated during the fight when Shang Tsung did defence with one arm, then Liu Kang does the exact same thing to him while literally having one arm.

Battle of The Realms is flawed but still a fun MK movie to watch whereas Annihilation is an absolutely mangled trainwreck. Not only that but Battle of The Realms flawed as it is is still way more faithful to the series mythology than the recent live-action reboot.

To be fair, she may have a role in Edenian politics (so to say), and yet not one in Edenian Military. Sure, she is a warrior lead by Shao Khan, but they may be addressing her by her military decorum in this case, which apparently, she has also been granted the rank of general.

@@blobface103 If that’s what the writers were thinking as a way of being progressive, I’d say they achieved the opposite. Being a general would actually demand less respect and loyalty than a princess. IMO, the highest ranking, most experienced and achieved military general is a prized guard dog compared to a princess. I’m not too big on MK lore, but I feel like Kitana has always been the opposite of the ‘soft, delicate woman’ one would assume for a princess (y’know, despite being a mind-controlled/manipulated damsel in distress in half the games she’s in). Heck, she’s basically a military general in MK11, leading the tarkatans, osh-tekk, shokan, and Erron Black (why was he still there?) against Shao Kahn, while never dropping the title of princess, even getting promoted to Kahn.

Keep in mind we have had plenty of comic book movies and tv shows and there have been a lot of great shows based on comic characters. Poor execution can cause anything to fail. They're going to adapt it regardless because there's money involved, so it makes sense to do it in the best way possible. A show gives them more time to put the story in they desire.

Creators and writers of Castlevania animated series are not potatoes, they have brains, Warren Ellis has a big brain. Ed Boon has no brain storywise. Nothing since MK9 has a decent coherent story to it, game or movie like wise

I heavily disagree. Every MK series that has been made has been pretty bad, and I would say that most of the movies are really good (basically all of them other than Annihilation are really good in my opinion.) They either need to make the all the movies super long or people need to realize that it’s impossible for every character to be fully developed, and, for the most part, they try to focus on the most popular ones or characters with the most depth to them. Sure, some characters don’t get to do as much as they should (Kung Lao, Kitana, Jade), but most of the characters they choose to make jobbers ARE jobbers in the games, whether you like to admit that or not. Would I like for them to focus more on characters like my favorite, Kabal? Yes. Do I understand why they don’t? Yes. Why? Because, despite him being my favorite character, I’m willing to admit that he has basically no personality outside of MK9. Do I think Kung Lao should have been better utilized in BOTR? Yes. Do I think they should have given him more to do with Liu Kang before they killed him, so we actually understand why Liu Kang cares so much about his death? Yes. Do I think killing him was a mistake? No. Why? Because, despite how popular and interesting of character he is, he never really did anything important across the entire series. There is no reason not to kill him off early, and, since this is Mortal Kombat, you kinda have to kill everybody you don’t need so that you can have all the fatalities you want in the story. I’m just saying, there’s a reason why Kung Lao dies in MK2021, MK9, AND BOTR, and that’s because he’s not really important. I honestly feel like most of the problems people have with the movie are either nitpicks or they care WAY TOO MUCH about a problem that really isn’t that big of a deal.

I do agree with this but I also think that if done correctly the heros gotta take some L's too.

The spider God aspect was introduced in the mid 2000s and was left ambiguous in the original story, so that's why it's not talked in most renditions of spiderman. Liu kang is the chosen one as far as him being chosen representative for shaolin monks, this movies interpretation is drastically odd.

@@liamrauch1000 During his review on the movie, UnderDawg goes on a quick rant about how Liu Kang knowing that he's the chosen one undermines his arc, and made the comparison that if there was a Spider-God that approached Peter about becoming Spider-Man well before he actually became Spider-Man would have made the character lame. Which I agree. But the thing is that there actually _is_ a Spider-God that was introduced way later on in his story that was primarily there to justify why so many of his villains are animal-themed.

Wasn't the spider god thing retconned because it mess with the relateability aspect of peter parker and that anyone can become spiderman 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@@realrealwarpet haha! I'm not even super against that, Jax does deserve a win of such magnitude after all this time, but man they really could have made Kintaro cool in the process. Maybe have him beat Johnny instead of Dvorah, or really give Jax a run for his money to keep us on the edge of our seats, or have him absolutely destroying the Shaolin in the battle prior to the tournament. Just something to establish how dangerous he is! The best of all would probably have been him fighting Kung Lao at the Shaolin Temple (instead of a generic monster) and dominating that fight, and then he loses to Kung Lao in the tournament. That way we'd actually get some investment in Kung Lao in this movie at the same time.

They way he got split, a total system shock could have killed him outright, and as he body was lying above the blood soaked dirt, Liu Kang (his actual friend) could have swore he would had the Emperor's head for this. But, no; Let's split him in half. Leave him alive 5 extra seconds just to suffer. And make everyone else forget about him. The fricking _Lin Kuei's Grandmaster_ got a more emotional sent-off seeing how he was _tricked_ to steal the Kamidogu unwittingly for Shinnok and seemed himself _shocked_ of what was happening at the moment. The _fricking..._ Lin Kuei's... Grandmaster... got a better sent-off than Kung Lao.

His death was terrible like how TF did he die by his own hat like wtf he just stands there he can do some crazy shit with that hat but he dies by it coming straight at him like he hasn't caught that hat millions of times lol

1. As stupid as Arcana and the markings were, that specific movie would not have worked without them. 2. Good question about Kitana, but I wasn’t missing her at any point. 3. I agree about Nitara, not just because she didn’t do anything, but because she is genuinely one of the few characters in the franchise I actually dislike. 4. They killed Kung Lao because he’s not important. He’s cool, and he’s a good character, but he never does anything important. Name one time he actually did something in the games that mattered.

Yes, he was... but he was still honorable, he went there and challenged Scorpion in a fair fight in Shao Khan's arena and never attacked from behind. In that game he was imature compared to what he became as the years passed but was honorable since the beginning. In this movie they didn't represent him propperly, they kinda switched him to Scorpion. But their participation was ok in my opinion

I saw Kung Lao's death and I was like "YOU ARE NOT GONNA KILL ANOTHER HERO!"

Literally the second I realized it was a montage I yelled "NO! Please don't do this! No montages!" lol

I actually got fooled so hard by the fight scenes. I thought they were decent because they had x-rays but now I realized they just don’t make any sense at all only lasting less than a minute

The one being isn't onaga, this is actually the first time we've seen the one being. Play deception and you'll see that onagas essence was placed into a giant dragon egg. And the reptile unknowingly opened it and got transformed and possessed. That's why onaga looks kinda scaly

@@NPM_15 At least in BFTR though Raiden's reason was more justified as he wanted to compete directly which he can't being a God since he'll demolish everyone in fair conditions. The other reason no doubt was to push liu kang no doubt. MKA his reasons made no sense, he relinquished his powers has enough to go to outworld, gets oneshotted by shao kahn who's his brother that's a whole other issue lol and just left a bad taste in my mouth. Even ed boon approved of this film doing thst with Raiden in the special features as a newer twist, he hates annihilation btw lol. I can't blame him that movie shat on the lore in so many ways. That was more of a cosmic beings vs cosmic being fight in the form of a dragon vs a monster so more cosmic kaju guess you could say haha. I liked the nod to mk 11 with making liu kang this mega op Beyond godly being unmerging the realms in the universe and preventing it from getting destroyed.

Look at Rocky horror picture show, it's based off a play that went around the world and was successful called the Rocky horror show. All the original stage actors and actresses came back for the movie and it flopped in 1975 as the Rocky horror picture show. Nothing was altered from the story except how it was shown on the silver screen. Night of the demons is also a movie based off of another source. A book to be exact and that movie added or changed things from the book and it still failed. So not all bad movies are original source materials that become culture classics. Blade Runner is another good example of a cult classics film that changes things from the novel do robot dream of electric sheep. So as I said not all bad films are really bad.

Nice. I have always had that issue with that fight in bleach. Ulquiorra is just beating ichigo senseless. The beginning started as a fairly evenly fight but that was because Ulquiorra wasn't fully trying yet. Ichigo then gets a sudden power up then proceeds to completely body the guy who was just doing the same to him. It makes the fight boring so i've never watched it again. Ichigo Vs Grimmjow was a much better fight and probably the best fight in Bleach as a whole.

@@aerostrafe1075 They definitely could have arranged it better. Like having Ichigo's full hollow takeover happen before Ulquiorra's Segunda Etapa, like suddenly Ulquiorra has to resort to it. Then it puts the battle on more even footing and keeps the stakes high throughout.

Also, Shang Tsung was always the easiest boss to beat in the series. If you don't think you can make Lui Kang beat him with just kicks and a single arm, then I have to ask whether you've ever played the games.

I honestly thought it was going to be loosely based on MK 2 and 3 as well. That way it could set up to continue with other films after that. Huge fail IMO

And raiden holding back against kitana in this case is completely dumb and stupid and him losing to her and general reiko. If he knew kitana was one of Shao’s victims, then why tf does he not know about jade (or any innocent Edenian - sindel- if there is a next movie) also being a victim of Shao’s invasion. Why did he not try to bring jade on the side of good, then? If he did knew about this, he would’ve said to liu kang to go light on jade but this mofo literally decides to go all out in jade literally killing her in the process. Even if she didn’t die, it was clear that liu didn’t give a shit and raiden didn’t say shit there Also, wtf does kitana do in the movie? She literally betrays Shao Kahn in the most stupidest fashion, Shao literally showed that her first attack was shit-all. Shao Kahn then proceeds to beat the living shit out of her and capture her and what does she do after she is free? Literally does nothing but evacuation which could’ve gone to any character or npc in this movie. She has literally no important significance so why even spare her at this point? Might as well beat the shit out of her while ur at it Also, raiden has billions of years of fighting experience when he was a god and he literally trained liu kang to evade wind attacks which liu literally did. So how is his student doing it when his mentor can’t do it?
