The best tool you have in my opinion is "the table around your sewing machine" - nice work surface for handling material for prepping and sewing! I've been messing around with Auto upholstery for my own vehicles, I'm not a professional even though I have several industrial sewing machines. Nice videos!

Took it all apart and used it for a pattern and borrowed my Mother’s sewing machine lol. Turned out good but I had no idea what I was doing lol. wow! that is pretty long, i have got my sewing machine in my dining room because its air conditioned didn't want to put in my garage (no air no heat) one that long will fit in my dining room but may be a little too much might go half that length. i have been taking apart seats and putting new on on my side porch keeping the dirt out of my house but all of the in and out back and forth makes it take three times as long to do but its way too hot outside(coastal carolina). thanks for the measurements, i had been wondering about your table for a while , makes things look much easier to work with!!!!@@oldschoolautoupholstery

Yes they do get expensive I make holsters and belts my cobra class 4 was $3900 my used consew 227 was $1000 and my Thompson walking foot was giving to me but it’s around $400-$500 the only problem with the consew is it doesn’t have reverse the consew 227R has reverse I also have about 14 other machines some were handed down the others I purchased I don’t use them all I just collect them but let me tell you even though they are expensive they are worth it the cobra class 4 has I think a 16”-18” arm with reverse and will sew 3/4” tooling leather all is a blessing from God

With your sewing machines- it pays to know how to correct your timing- spend the extra cash to learn from your maintenance guy so you can troubleshoot before your have to spend money to get it looked at (at least in my experience it has saved money!)

Very informative and easy to follow as always. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us. I already have a big compressor and most of the people that follow you may as well. For the total newbie would you recommend a small pancake compressor or a larger one? My opinion has always been buy the best you can afford. If you're doing 1 project then maybe a small one but otherwise I like having growth capability. Have a blessed day sir.

My Dewalt 15 gallon compressor is too noisy; looking for a smaller quieter compressor I can keep in the shop. Have you found something smaller, with enough capacity to spray the glue? Thanks! Great Video!!

Hello Captain, You are so welcome. I myself have never been able to share the same space as an air compressor. I get as far away from the noise as possible. I think they are all noisy and cannot recommend a quiet one. Sorry, I was not much help. I started using a Harbor Freight McGraw 21 gallon 110v. I keep it behind a closed room and door. Sigh...only in dreams will I ever have a Juki 2810, such a great machine. I'm using a Consew Model 18, with a foot that lifts [via a Moon pedal on a bicycle chain] only 1/3 as high, is temperamental with regard to thread tension, no reverse so you have to do 4-D chess to get nonpulling seams, hates my guts, is one complete bastard and may as well be made by Caterpillar, but it's a very good teacher. Maybe it will help me earn enough for a better machine. Thanks for sticking w/ us, Rudy.

Believe me, I'm always looking for a better machine but down here in Big Bend TX the pickings are s-l-i-m so I have to make do. At least I have a great RU-vid instructor so things could be worse, right? I'll get by.

Rudy, a question about spray guns. I was looking at one I saw online with the following description: BEETRO HVLP Touch Up Air Spray Gun for Clearcoats 1.0mm Stainless Steel Nozzle 150ml Capacity 7.0CFM 22psi with Type 2 Adapter Air Control Valve and Filter. What size opening do you recommend for spraying adhesive?

Hello Star, In the old days we used Binks and Develbiss spray guns. I never paid attention to the specs, I just used them. Now I use cheapo Harbor Freight $27 spray guns right out of the box. Not rocket science. Please keep liking and watching!

Hello Johnnie, Up until recently, I was using a huge 60 gallon, 220volt compressor. I do have to say that it did not run much. However I am now downsizing and went to a 21 gallon 110 Volt from Harbor Freight. It does run more often, but I needed the 110V so I can run it with solar. I think it will get the job done as I really just use it for spraying glue and shooting staples. Please keep liking and watching!

I’ve had stitching come apart on my 46 year old drivers seat. Overall it’s very nice material (vinyl) it’s not ripped just the stitching. Is it possible to restitch or is it weak from age having been sewn before and just get a new panel.
