Almost as good as “I’m looking for a vampire spawn named Astarion. Have you seen him?” “*turns to Astarion* I don’t know. What do you think, Astarion?”
I never know which option to choose because that option is hilarious but if you don't reveal him Astarion's facial expressions absolutely kill me while the Gur is talking, he looks just like a guilty kid who doesn't want you to know that he just stole candy LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
I did that once when I wasn't really paying attention, took me a few seconds of "Wait, how did he kno-oooooh, my bad" had to take a good 5 minute break cause I was laughing so hard🤣
It's nice to see there's dialogue after freeing the prisoners. I usually always kill the prison guards and the Warden before releasing others. Everytime I do the mission sneakily the guards keep bugging.
It definitely prob kinda complicated coding questline, I didn’t get bugged but I killed the warden prior the break and then freed the prisoner simultaneously so the enemies got funnelled down one route and then just dropped hunger of hadar on them and kept them trapped in it.
@@saigyl9149skeleton summons causes the guards to follow them get them in the wardens office put 2 in front of the door still buggy but that's how I did it stealthy
I stealth literally every time. Just light a couple smokepowder barrels in the tunnel behind the cells to bust the walls and take the boat out. Only issue I've ever had is minthara being impatient if I'm moving slowly@@saigyl9149
Another funny dialogue option is when you try to persuade the githyanki dude to give you the egg, and he asks you what you will do with it. An option is “I’ll make the best omelette you’ve ever tasted”
Another 5 intelligence egg line is when you hold up the owl bear egg to the society woman who wants the Gith egg and you're just like "I just think it's neat :)"
That was literally the case with my group. Lae'zel as fighter, Tav and Karlach as barbarians and Shadowheart as cleric. We smoked her before any of the other guards could get into the room.
Same with tav as bard, astarion as astarion, lae zel as fighter who can deal 60 plus damage in jus one hit, and cleric shadow heart. Astarion and lae zel took her out before I even got to sharts and tavs turn 💀
@@Tiffaniel03 When I killed her on my paladin, Oath broke. It makes very little sense, I think, especially since she is literally keeping prisoners for infestation and whatnot. This can be beaten by either making sure your paladin is far away while you have your companions murder her, *or* (IIRC) telling her that you freed the prisoners. I think it runs off of whether she's hostile or not when you first attack; using this dialogue option makes her hostile, so you're in the clear. It *might* also be a matter of who deals the *final* blow, because I seem to recall when I was playing around with it that Karlach got the killing blow and no oath broke. It's one of the more nonsensical things that can break your oath, up there with "killing duergar slavers and torturers and murderers who are literally talking about their slaving and torturing and murdering* (the ones with the gnome bringing them drinks in Grymforge, near the dead drow in cages)
@Psykolord1989 I also accidentally broke Lae'zel's oath when we killed her. I just figured it was because I used Hold Person, so I could deal with her alone and not get swarmed with guards, then we all wailed on her. I ended up really enjoying the RP reason for Lae'zel breaking her oath and staying an Oathbreaker though, so it worked out well enough.
If you enter Mystic Carrion’s and kill all the ghouls, you get the option when you speak to him to say “That’s it? You’re not mad that I killed everyone upstairs?”
spoiler for anyone who hasn’t chosen this dialogue option i did it in my most recent playthrough (the first time i met him i didn’t even know there was an upstairs, i happened across his secret door) and when i told him i killed them all bro gave 0 fucks, he’s certainly one of the more interesting NPCs i’ve come across
My most brainless dialogue moment in the game was when the vampire hunter was telling me he was looking for a spawn named Astarion and was describing how dangerous vampires were and my Tav went "Whoa. That's wild. What do you think of all this Astarion?" My head was absolutely empty in that moment. Not a thought in there
LOL. I always clear the guards first because otherwise its hard to stop Warden and guards from killing some of escapees. But Larian in their great wisdom created this dialogue for those few maniacs who insisted on doing this stealth way AND managed to do so, AND chose to diss on the Warden afterwards. Its like, maybe one player in 1000.
I actually did this quest in stealth a lot of times. The guards don't reach the docks right after. You have some time actually. The gnomes free the tieflings pretty fast, above all if you already damaged the walls earlier. I literally do this with 2 party members. Karlach waits at the docks, ready to trigger the cutcene once the gnomes free the tieflings and reach a certain spot of the corridor; my Tav is who gives the hammer to Wulbren. I basically hide Tav and switch to Karlach so i dont waste time. Rest is a piece of cake. I know there's another way (i think its the mist famous one), but I thought it's too stressful and it doesn't always work. Wulbren often bugs and the guards, for a weird reason, dont always stop when you use Darkness. So I thought to split the party and unlock the cutscene asap. But, honestly, last time I wanted clear the guards. They join the final battle. And indeed, this time I had less enemies to barrelmancy x)
I always do this quest stealth. TBH I never really thought of doing it any other way. Though I usually get rid of the Warden as well. As long as you take out the patrolling guardsman the other two at the entrance aren't going to catch up before the others escape. So you can pretty much just destroy the Warden if you haven't done so already. Just take Wyll for Crown of Madness and Eldritch Blasting enemies into the pit, Astarion for sneak attacks, and Lae'zel for DPS. Especially if you hooked her up with the gear from grymforge.
Tbh is not hard if you destroy the orbs flying around and time well the moment to give wulren the hammer. Additionally, you could use a cat to maintain the patrol out of the cells
@@danielmachado4389 meanwhile me, who only learned about cats meowing ability few days ago by watching YT of some guy who left his wife to play BG and she did some crazy stuff as druid...
Trav: This is my 4th play through by the way. *Gale, Astarion and Karlach doing the Tobey Miguire Dance behind her.* Cultist: All the guards are dead aren’t they? Trav: Practically ABSOLUTE slaughter.
Huh, next playthrough, I'll choose that option. There's something endlessly satisfying about goading Absolutists into fights they have no hope of winning.
"We're looking for anyone who escaped that crashed ship. They should be injured, so that's a start." Tav, currently bloodied and with 3 very bloodied companions.: "Of course I know them, they're us!"
Warden: I will now rip you apart, in Her name Karlach: *Sneezes vaguely in her direction* Warden: *Lies before us, ripped apart, in a similar fashion how she said she'd do to us*
Now I'm imagining one of the other absolutists in the area having let out an absolutely rancid fart, and then before anyone can smell it, Karlach sneezes a spark out of her nose and it all lights up like a room full of oil barrels.
I love the dialogue options that allow you to let the enemy make the idiotic decision to attack you of their own volition. You give them a chance... And they choose poorly. Oh, well.🤷♂️
Dark Urge:"You fool, It's me who created the Absolute, I am the master of this cult, I crowned the Elder Brain. I am the reason for everything that is happening, and now young cultist, you will die)"
@myheartismadeofstars What I love about Dark Urge is that he is essentially the main trigger of everything that happens, that he created it all and that he is in fact the main protagonist and antagonist at the same time and only in the end you decide who he becomes in the end, a hero who wants to redeem his past mistakes, vices and evil deeds or a villain who wants to complete what he started, for the name of his father or in his own name, without his father's control, where already his "DARK URGE" has become fully owned only to him.
@@MasterRaven0707 I love Durge so much tbh. And I think Durge best suits the apparent theme of autonomy and choice that underlies every other major character in the story.
@@MasterRaven0707 Kinda like what you said, I think it's hilarious that Orin is what destroys the Absolute. Had she left Durge alone, the plan of Durge, Gortash, and Ketheric would have more than likely gone off without a hitch, but because she's a mad dog that can't control herself, she accidentally created the hero that saves Baldurs Gate
@brocksells197 Exactly. And Orin proved once again that she is a stupid, capricious and immature child who can't control her childish whims and resentments and it was her behavior that ruined the plan and herself.
I never got this conversation. When my buddy and I got to this part, I talked to her while he got prepped. Then we jumped her and took her out in 1 round. Then we carefully took out the guards via shoving them into the chasm.
Fun fact if you wait till the warden is away from her office and initiate the break out, she will slowly stroll to her office, giving you a free chance to push her into the pit.
Or when you have the option to give lady Esther the owlbear egg, and she’s like “this isn’t what I asked for” and instead of lying you can just be like “yeah I know it’s just neat”
I’ve done multiple playthroughs and never had this happen. Amazing how I’m always learning new things about this game. I didn’t even know this could happen and I always free the prisoners too! Well actually two playthroughs I failed. But I saved them like two or three times hah
I am surprised, there is not a half-second of this video where she dies screaming as a result. I'm not surprised that the dialog is an option. They thought of everything.
Me and my 3 other lvl 9 homies:miss i dont think youre seeing the full picture, in fact youre already impaled to the groud with s spear and half cooked with a fireball
@@steampunkfox4932 Didn't larian say they were officially done with BG3, and moved on to there inhouse games, saying it would be up to Wizards of The Coast to update BG3, so that puts console mod support very much in doubt
@@Carolinafan85 they said that they won’t be doing anymore Baldur’s Gate games after BG3 but they said they’re still not done with BG3. They also confirmed awhile ago that the console version of BG3 will get mod support
Didn't know this is possible. After I let the prisoners go they chased me to the dock. And when I escaped and came back they just go in combat mode immediately.
I did this quest last night, my favourite in the game so far. I quite enjoyed one by one assassinating all the guards, warden last, freeing the prisoners and strolling out the room as if nothing happened
I love this community so much 😂 Everyone in the comments seems to remember a single turn of combat is literally 6 seconds. So, yes, she's already dead by the time Karlach sneezes and Astarion complains about having to do this all day 😂😂😂
Not gonna lie, I wiped everyone out then just pulled the levers. I killed everyone at the docks and every prison guard every eye and the warden so it's cool to see what I missed.
See I just minor illusion everyone to the edge of the broken walkway on the right side of the warden’s room and just shove them right off. It’s long and tedious but easiest way to kill everyone 😊 or just put your hand threw the squishy wall then you can just walk everyone out no fighting necessary 😀
