A lot of the planes imagined in the Emergency Fighter Program weren't designed with bailing out in mind. You came down with the plane, either wheels down or shot down
Surprised you never mentioned the Münchhausen project, strapping a modified 355mm (14in) naval gun to the belly of a Do217 medium bomber. It ultimately failed as the blast damaged the fuselage and no real solution to this problem could be found before rocket technology advanced to the point that the whole project was deemed a waste of resources
The Blohm & Voss BV141 recon aircraft was equally asymmetric and worked rather well. The BV237 would seem to be an attempt to capitalise on this success. The P163 - no excuses. Lippisch P13A - purest fiction in the engines at least. Ramjets are tricky and one using powdered coal is laughable. Notice that the HeS011 keeps coming up in late war projects - huge promises were made, nothing ever delivered (much like the Jumo 222). An interesting question about the Triebflugel is - how do you get fuel from the main tank to the tipjets? Option 1 is to spin the fuel tank with the wings, which would be mechanically .... interesting. Option 2 is to feed fuel through a rotary joint, remembering that at this point in time the only tech available was welded steel pipes. Above all, remember that - in this phase of the war - if these designers failed to promise amazing weapons, their project teams would be disbanded and sent to the Eastern front. So a few flights of fantasy to save their own lives are quite excusable.
Compared to some of the other vehicles in Thunderbirds, the lerche would look fairly tame imo Btw as a fan of Thunderbirds I was happy to hear you reference it, a lot of other vehicles you have covered would fit it quite well

Routing power around the cockpit has actually been done in the P-39 Airacobra. That plane was also a bit cursed by design but it worked without significant issues.
I knew a few of those from the Simple Planes archives. Theres also this old game (PS2 era) called Heroes of the Pacific where you can unlock the BV P215, wich for Blohm und Voss standards looks rather conventional

Just a simple idea. It's pretty simple to jettison blades from the propeller. Russians use it a lot in their helicopters, and i'm pretty sure there are also heli's on the america's side that can do it too. I'm 90% sure that i've heard somewhere that this is the way that german pilots could bail out from their flying coffins. Either that or ejection seat, as germans had developed them while the war was still going on
