This movie has been parodied so many times, I think the amount is on par with Jaws and the Matrix

I recently bought the Criterion Collection version. This is an awesome film; very influential on many later films. To answer one of James' questions; there were more 'trophies' in the original version, including two whole stuffed specimens posed in the positions they were killed in. This freaked out test audiences and, like Kong's Spider Pit sequence, it was cut and lost forever.

Read this in school. In the book, there is no woman with him, he's being hunted alone. And the way he was able to set traps is because he himself is a hunter, just not a hunter of humans. In the beginning of the book, he reflects on the nature of hunting for a bit before he falls off the ship. A great story.

Didn't know there was a movie for this story. I read this while in school. I thought it was interesting. When I would think of the title, I didn't think if it as a "game" per say. I thought of the hunted as the game, as in game animals. Hunting humans would be the most dangerous game to hunt since we are on the same intelligence and reasoning level. The hunter can be out smarted and easy be hunted down himself.
