What shocked me was how easily Barca beat Chelsea in the Champions League last season. Having seen Chelsea dominate the English game the difference between the sides was crazy big.
Small nuance, I wouldn't say Chelsea dominated in England. Arsenal was pretty close and only lost out on the league because of a dumb loss vs Birmingham Ws (who's last). Not saying Chelsea isn't a great side, but they're not currently the English Barcelona Femeni
@@NavF1 Chelsea also can say they lost to a random Reading side so thats not an excuse. Chelsea is clearly the best team in England. Arsenal and City following.
When I said ‘please sir give me some more knowledge’, this is exactly the kind of content I expected. This is an unreported phenomenon overall nice to give the best female side ever a bit of credit, they do need a challenger though it is not a good image to have one outfit of perfection and a few other great teams!
Yeah it's not news to many people by now, there have been videos about Barca Femini for a while by now. And lol @ the guy who thinks Twitter is a place to be for proper news or journalism.
Lieke Martens got me into Barca Femeni, like Ronaldinho did in 2006 to the men's team She hasn't played a lot lately due to injury, hope she stays and retires here Just checked Instagram, she's back in training
Barcelona women team is pretty much like those teams from long time ago like Johan Cryuff Ajax that won 3 Champions League , Di Stefano Real Madrid , or Pele’s Brasil. They are just way too ahead of their time, and other teams will take time to catch up to this team that has been doing this long term project since 2015
The similarities is kind of resembles for many reasons : - Women football is still very young and its still evolving - Barca put their philosophy into the women team , mold it that way in a long term investment, and now they are going toe to toe or even surpassing Lyon”s women team - As I mention , those teams that dominated on their time , this women Barca team is doing it because they are way ahead over other teams
I was in Barcelona in March on the day of El Clásico. Unfortunately we didn't have time to watch the game but we stopped by Camp Nou and the atmosphere was amazing. I saw a girl no older than 10 run to the Nike store where the anthem is written on the wall and she was singing her heart out to it, truly made me tear up. This representation matters so much especially to young girls/women and seeing the city care so much about their women's teams makes myself and I'm sure other fans so happy! Tots Units Fem Força ❤💙
@@pogboom5819growing up I would've loved to have a seen big clubs care this much about their women's teams they way they do now. And seeing a girl get to experience that right in front of me got me in the feels so yeah. So mock all you want, weird flex but okay 👍
@@dbarca1081 A match between Barcelona women's team & real Madrid men's team can't be called "el classico" when both sides don't have much history & much history of success in comparison to the men's sides. Both teams play their regular matches in a 6,000 seat stadium, Barcelona women's team has only existed since 1988 & the real Madrid women's team was formed in 2014 & only became part of real Madrid in 2020 & haven't even won 5 trophies in their history ,admittedly the women's team of Barcelona has been somewhat successful.
@@dbarca1081 It's very relevant, the match you're referring to is not an el classico It's just a match between Barcelona women's team vs real Madrid women's team 😉. No history & little success behind the fixture to justify "el classico" status.
I feel bad for the Lyon women team who won the CL from 2016 to 2020 and 2022, not having a video about them, when they are the most dominant team in Women European football history.
A really fantastic video showcasing not just an outstanding female football team, but and outstanding football team period. My 7 year old daughter watched the highlights of the Barca vs Real Madrid game with me. After the game I caught her trying to scratch the ‘Messi 10’ off her replica Barca shirt. When I questioned her on this, she explained she wanted ‘Alexia 11’ now.
I think the moment I realised that Barca Femini were by far the best team in the world in the women’s game was the way brushed Chelsea aside. As a Chelsea fan, I’ve watched a fair amount of the Chelsea Women’s team. I thought that team were dominant, I thought that team were unstoppable, but then Barca happened in the final. It was embarrassing how easy it was for them. They never looked like they tried. The gulf in class was evident.
yeah they did it against real madrid, 4-0 trophy el clasico of playing with style, other than that, they also lost against frankfurt in uel and lost to bayern in ucl, but hey atleast they losing it with a style
@@randhika5636 yup it's a time of transition and inconsistency is always a part of it plus Real Madrid were also horrible themselves , not downplaying the 15 game winning streak we had were we slapped every top5 team in laliga by 4 goals. @@randhika5636 Although the intentions of the message show, it's nice to see that you got the point of it all, yes, there are better ways to lose as well.
Well, it's 37 minutes into the Champions league final and Lyon are making Barca look like a bunch of amateurs. It's 3-0 and could be any score. Barca are not as good as they think they are tonight.
A single miraculous year 2021 thanks to PSG which eliminated Lyon and immediately Barça fans thought of erasing Lyon which has been the absolute master for more than a decade....and which will continue to be so for a long time to come...😂
Barca are just so unique in football, they have a philosophy and culture that is bigger than just their mens team, its in the youth teams, the womens team and even the city itself. Thats why even when the mens team is in a transitioning period, they dominate the other areas. Something other clubs like real madrid will never have.
@@GIBBO4182 so? They stayed true to that philisophy, and made it part of their own club and history. No one forced them to do that, they chose it. And they still recognise Ajax as a part of their history
@@Maxim89Il a person who knew even a bit of football will know the difference in playing style Well of course initially they got the philosophy because of ajax bit they have evolved and now it's their own Tiki Taka is not what ajax play but barca does Ajax always focussed on total football which barca did initially
@@suchitapage4725 yet here you are probably a Madrid fan so desperate to downplay Barca style in a comment and video where there’s not a single mention of a Madrid.🤔 so , who’s who?
Delighted with the result tonight, Lyon showing everyone who is the boss. Watched this video and read the comments this morning, everyone completely ignoring what Lyon have achieved and righting them off as flat track bullies, so glad they corrected them all with the win. Truth is all you Barca fan boys have only started watching & caring about women's football because your team was doing well. Some of us have followed for years. Barca are a class team no doubt, but are not the only one!
Shame on the Barça fans because they dared to erase the great Lyon which is by far the best women's team in the world! Barça is only a good team among others because in my opinion PSG, Bayern and Juventus are close to him.....but Lyon is the absolute emperor and he still has it proven...
Lyon dominated in the field. Barca are doing more than that. They promote the team and give them as much exposure as possible. When Lyon was winning people who don't watch the woman's game wouldn't know what happened or even name one player there. With barca that's different. When thousands of people block the streets to welcome them to a stadium people take notice, when they break world records that also gets pekples attention. What they also have is a huge fanbase that has taken to the women's team and are talking about them relentlessly everywhere putting them on everyone's mind. Also because they are such a big team their dominance has shamed other big clubs into investing in the woman's game. Madrid didn't have a team until barca started dominating 2 years ago and since then they've not only built a team but have built one that can compete in Europe and several other big clubs are following suit. No disrespect to Lyon but when they dominated most big clubs didn't really care. Maybe barca are just good at the right time but the truth is they've garnered way more exposure for the women's game than Lyon or Wolfsburg in their dominant eras. And the structure they have for the woman's team is of the highest order
Because Lyon was early investor in woman’s football they didn’t really change the persecution of people because they brought some good players and won. That’s about it and now every big club are investing on woman’s football but They didn’t play with at least 5-6 home grown players and in laliga almost every team has at least one lamasia graduated and they didn’t attract this many people so
Lyon dominated the women's game when there was nobody else to challenge them, Barca is dominating it when there's Lyon, Chelsea and PSG to challenge them. It's nowhere near close. It's like saying that a country is winning a war which they declared on themselves, just because there's nobody else in the war.
@@saptaccrvima3563 Lyon dominated when the biggest threat from Spain in the women's game was Bilbao. While quite professional in terms of practices and pay, Bilbao also has the issue of handcuffing themselves to a narrow talent pool that is only about 6% of Spain's population and a quarter of that has be developed in the French Leagues.
I've found women's footy extremely interesting this season. Can't believe I didn't follow it in Spain. I hope this spills over to the rest of Europe. It can only get better
It's mad to think about how good our Femeni team is, but even still being this good, Lyon's is just on a different level, people forgot how good they were because they lost to PSG women last year, but they've won so many UWCL so they're just different, but that doesn't make our Femeni team bad, that's just Lyon being on a different level.
Led by Alicia Vargas, Mexico placed third in the 1970 Women's World Cup, a tournament FIFA has yet to acknowledge. Mexico fell 2-1 in the semifinal to hosts Italy before defeating England 3-2 in the third place match. The following year, Mexico hosted the 1971 Women's World Cup, which has also yet to be officially recognized. The squad reached the final but fell 3-0 to Denmark. An estimated 110,000 people attended the final at Estadio Azteca,[3] which is the largest crowd ever to witness a women's soccer game; FIFA has not recognized this attendance record either.
@@Rodrigo-fj8nu The point is that an event that is not organized by FIFA will not be acknowledged by FIFA. If there was a different governing body that would hold all the female events it would be something different, but if they want FIFA to acknowledge something I would assume that FIFA would be the ones to hold the event.
What?????? Lyon have won 6 Champions League in the last 8 years and only PSG have beaten them twice (2014 and 2021) otherwise Lyon would possibly be at 8 Champions League in a row!!! Last year Barça can thank PSG but this year there were no miracles. This year, the real final was the Lyon vs PSG semi-final which was much better than the final. The Barcelona girls looked like little girls compared to the Lyon killers! And then, Barça has never managed to win a match with Lyon....🙄 Stop this propaganda for Barça because in Lyon they laugh....🤣🤣
@@PalakPreman08 Yeah, no. I've watched women's football. I'd say, it's about the level of the English Non-league to Fifth tier. One good team, doesn't make the sport good
Madrid CFF had its girls teams win their over boys on four occasions: 2014-15 Infantil (U14), 2017-18 Alevín (U12) and 2018-19 Infantil (U14) were champions in boys' leagues with the 2018-19 Benjamín (U10) seven-aside team also winning against the boys.
Lyon’s women side won the Champions League from 2016 to 2020. They’ve also consecutively won their home league 14 years in a row, only coming 2nd in the 2020/21 season last year. I don’t keep up that well with women’s football, but surely that dominant streak is more impressive than Barcelona right now?
The difference is that Lyon only dominated on the pitch, but Barca are domination both on the pitch and outside it. Let's be real here, barely anyone cared when Lyon were winning, but now Barca are attracting crowds of more than 90000 fans, setting up numerous academies and have brought the most attention to women's **club** football
Lyon has dominated champions league for years, dominates football for years, didn't lose a single game for half a decade in French football, and now attracts the best European and American players. The only year they messed up was 2021. The only. Year. Barca only had one freakishly good year. Lyon has had a decade of dominance
For the first time I’m disappointed by Tifo. Most dominant team in football? I don’t know if it’s a poor choice in title or just some kind of ad for Barcelona women team but this is so wrong! Lyon is by far the most dominant team, on every level (followed by Wolfsburg and even PSG).
Shows what you can do with a professional setup. I don't know if it's still the case, but a few years ago, there was still only one English club where all of the players had professional contracts.
So if they're mostly all Spanish homegrown players, and they all play for the same club and they're this far ahead of every other club side - what are the odds they (spain w) walk the womens world cup in 2023?
Very likely, and it should do a lot of good. Other nations will see how one club doing things properly can make a huge difference, and they'll hopefully push for similar in their respective hone leagues.
Given Real Sociedad's rise alongside Barcelona in the women's game in Spain, the odds are improving. But it may not be in time for 2023 given the US has a fully professional women's soccer league. But a match of Spain vs the US deciding it is highly likely.

The men's team won't take notes. Yess they can learn. But i won't be like, taking notes. Not on that level. Every team applies tactics according to their own strengths and the nature of the opponents they face. The game is totally different in regard to how it works. Just like women's team cannot apply all the tactics that the men's team does. Because? The playstyle and intensity of the teams they face is different. They can learn from their OWN game...both of them. And get a little inspiration from each other tho.
who knew that putting an amazing and similarly sized staff to the men’s team would make them dominant asf…it’s almost as if when you treat women equally to men they produce the same results, if not better
Not always. This only occurs because of the MASSIVE disparities in the women's game in terms of money and other resources. The current issue with the women's game is that all the teams are just the mirror of the main team. No proper grassroots team has reached this level and that will just transfer the economic gaps in the men's game into the women's game and imo, that's not good for it
@@opinionatortv6457 In the FAWSL, there's a massive gap between the top three (Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City) and the rest. Next season, Liverpool will play in the league which'll see exactly half of the league be the top six of the mens league.
@@Ese96Agoaye Exactly my point. Grassroots teams was how football got it's start. History, heritage, and emotional bond was built and success followed. Jumpstarting that with millions or billions in dollars is not good for the progress of women's football. Which women's team can anyone say they have an emotional attachment to just like the men's team? None. If the Manchester United women's team get relegated tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear. But if the men's team got relegated I would bawl my eyes out. There needs to be a culture and heritage around the women's game that is separate from the men's game for it to advance properly. Sorry for the long rant
@@opinionatortv6457 I guess you could say the likes of Arsenal, Birmingham City, and Everton to a degree. Speaking of the latter two, Everton won the FA Cup in 2010, and won the old Premier League Cup two years before. Birmingham City won the FA Cup 10 years ago, and reached the last four of the UWCL two years later. Now, its all changed for the worst.
@@opinionatortv6457 You advocate for different names and for it to be treated like Sunday league so it attracts a more local audience? Doing it the way you suggest they do does bring lots of people that bet, so emotional attachment goes out the window if there's money to be made. Then again, money and ease of recognition makes it a good way to introduce yourself into women's football. Having that Arsenal women's team means that whenever you hear of arsenal's success you are more likely to be happy. You might even send out your daughter to play for it if she likes football. Whereas with random teams that you don't recognise or boast any money, you wouldn't want your daughter to be wasting her time.
This just shows the massive imbalance in womens football. Its like Liverpool or Man City competing in a league with primarily Charlton's amd Bolton Wanderers. People call the Bundesliga and such farmers leagues, but compared to womens football even the german league is strongly competitive.
It is sad because women’s football could be hot spot for investment and marketing teams that are new and are independent of the male counterparts. Sadly all I think will happen is the same level of dominance from the likes of your Barcas, Bayerns, Reals and Juves in the women’s league as they have done in the men’s leagues.
Women’s football is largely a media construct. According to the BBC, for example, Chelsea fans are delighted they won the Women’s FA Cup yesterday after losing the actual FA Cup final on a Saturday. They aren’t.

Yes here it is pure poetry because in reality Barça had a lesson in football and humility against the best team of all time ----> Lyon: 10 finals in 12 years = 8 Champions League.. .. The only reason for Barça's CL victory in 2021 is that they miraculously avoided Lyon....😂
If you will see the men's team you will say that this is not the barca way. But if you see the women's team then you will definitely say thats the barca way.
Let's just hope that they don't dominate Sp[anish Women's football to a degree that it discourages other teams in Spain. There's only so long people will want to play with a Bully. Hopefully it encourages other teams to try harder instead
I've wanted to watch high quality football from the women's game for some time and I thought this is it, the Barca team. But I kept seeing a recurring theme of lobbed goals and mishit crosses going in, which says more about how easy the poor overall quality of the other teams made it for them. I get that it's not common a women's team has full house attendance, a philosophy, etc. but given the hype, maybe I was expecting a little more than just half their goals coming from very poor defending.
Prime example: Barca 5 Wolfsburg 1 That game Was insane for the femeni team They Outclassed Wolfsburg in every way And didnt have a single Non team made goal besides the Pen And it couldve been much more than 5. also the Pen was made from team play
As a guy who watches a lot of women's football, the lobbed goals are inherent due to a lack of height and moreso jumping ability of women. I don't think it is necessarily poor defense, but as GK's become more athletic and taller, those goals will decrease. It will be similar to how women basketball players are getting taller and more athletic with each new generation.
@@kel01 that's a good explanation for that, although the mishit crosses seem to happen quite often too. I'm not trying to diss the women's game, but every time I get excited or try watching a game/highlights, I keep seeing men's amateur level mistakes and get a little disappointed
Lisbon lions 67 won every trophy they competed in as well as beating Real Madrid during De stefanos testimonial so safe to say they’re the most dominate mens team
I do! Why shouldn’t we care? There’s about as many young women as there are young men wanting to get involved in professional sports. Caring about women’s sports in general and expanding them gives more athletes the opportunity to play for a living.
@@Ren_1090 That argument completely falls apart when you realise that women's sport isn't being promoted, female versions of popular men's sport are being promoted based on the hope that it will one day make as much money as popular men's sports like football ⚽️, cricket 🏏 & basketball 🏀. Sports that were traditionally somewhat popular with women in certain countries like netball are getting sidelined & for all this talk of supposed equality netball isn't promoted to young boys & men aren't allowed to play professional netball. Professional Netball doesn't make much money & they don't even have proper stadiums they play in university sports halls. It's not about promoting women's sport & giving opportunities It's about the potential to possibly make more money.
I will point to the USWNT as an example as well 44 unbeaten with serious competition. An old niche example was the wildly WILDLY successful UNC womens soccer. 18/20 national titles from 81-2000. All but one conference title. 101 game unbeaten streak. Absolute dominance.
Tonight Barcelona F plays in the UCL finals, and I am trying to give a chance to feminine football. I thought it would be a good idea to have some context before the match, since I am a Barcelona fan since the Iniesta Xavi Messi era.

Are u saying this team is better than Pep's Barca, Cruyff's dream team, zidane's Real, or even an English League 2 side? Whatever this women's team is, they are definitely not best in FOOTBALL, whereas a men's football team which is the best in men's football will definitely be the best in whole of FOOTBALL because let's face it, football is a physical sport and men will do better than women in this, it's genetics! Stop going all woke, you can just say this is women's football, this is downplaying all the great men's sides throughout history.
Wish I had seen this when the video came out, I bet a lot of money that Lyon would win that final, because I knew they would. The Women's Super League and Spain's league is weak compared to D1 Arkema, the best women's league in the world.
