You have 2 hrs to make 40 moves, and you make those opening 5-7 moves in 2min, and still find yourself in time trouble, with having to make 10 moves in 4min, which meant you had played the middlegame for about 1hr 50min to make just 25 moves, approx 4 min per move - can imagine the kind of depth they would have thought through various lines at every move. Chess at that level is simply incredible!!

What a brilliant game 👏 👏 we all feel for GuKesh, but you have to give so much credit to Firouzja. He has not had the best of tournaments so far!! So to come and play like that and find such amazing moves while under immense time pressure was extraordinary. Let's hope this game kick starts Firouzja tournament and I hope GuKesh can put this loss behind him and carry on playing as good as he has been doing. This is especially important at critical moments when sensing that the game might be slipping away. The ending of this game was tough to watch for sure! Seemed very unfair. Still I don’t completely agree this is the *the* most emotionally charged game of the tournament- imo it’s Hikaru v Nepo : the prep was fireworks, we hadn’t seen such positions on the board before and the fact that Nepo was so uncomfortable, draining his time while Naka blitzed moves only to finally crack the game by move 40 and hold Naka to a draw! That was just crushing to watch…that draw was more painful than a loss!! That entire game was an emotional roller coaster 🎢 - I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the game of the tournament unless Pragg (with his creativity) comes up with something better in the next half

With 12 moves to go Gukesh had 13 minutes and Alireza less than 3 minutes. Time was not against him, it was for him. Alireza, though, is the fastest thinker in the game, according to Magnus. Gukesh should not have gone for the knight sacrifice. While it was the best move according to the computer, it led to complications which favor Alireza's style of play. Gukesh should have just consolidated the position and been ok with the ensuing draw which still would have kept him in the joint lead.

Please dont use that word loosely ''Monster'' only few deserve that title in whatever they strive to be a monster in. Someone who is not good under pressure in the most important moments of their career, like when they start to shake because their nervous cause of the immense tension instead of remaining calm in the most dire situations to put down their prey. This kid has been nothing but prey so far in the both of the candidates surrounded by predators even in this match he got himself another losing position he has no control over unless his opponent was to mess up which he did toward the end luckily. I know of and seen real monsters and he has not yet proven to be one hopefully he can change that but so no evidence to title him a ''Monster'' hes cute though and a pretty good player.
@123string4
@123string4 Месяц назад
@@banchoteining4778 Alireza is a monster when it comes to fast time controls just not classical. On any given day Alireza is up there with Magnus and Hikaru in bullet. It's why in a time crunch Gukesh didn't stand a chance against the super fast calculation of Alireza.
@ericastier1646
@ericastier1646 Месяц назад
@@123string4 well explained. Alireza is a monster and Magnus is never comfortable playing him as he is fearless and never looses on nerves like so many players that Magnus like to intimidate with his petty antics. Alireza internally finds that entertaining instead.
@banchoteining4778
@banchoteining4778 Месяц назад
@@123string4 A monster is well rounded and has little to no psychological weakness especially when it comes to fear and the names you mentioned ''Magnus'' and ''Hikaru'' have publicly brought to light that they sense very obvious fear in him especially at highest stages like the candidates real monsters don't have to worry about that weakness that nervousness, he should train his psyche better for those situations as it would help in the long run then only maybe you give him that title of ''Monster'' because yes everything you said is correct hes a great player and has his strengths but what use is all that talent if you're going to let you're biggest moments consume you with fear than all that hard work is for what?? if you're losing because of your own psyche its unhealthy because you start to realize you're just beating yourself once you understand there is no reason to be afraid of anyone or anything. Once again its been stated that hes scared of certain players and high pressure situations which can have a big impact on improving his chess further hopefully he can solve those issues sometime in the future, best of luck to him the rest of this candidates.

What I find STRANGE & NOT ACCEPTABLE is that - After a Game, I see that the Arbitrators rushing in immediately and Pushing for formalities 😬😬without allowing the players to go through their range of emotions OR the POST MATCH Analysis....Here GUKESH clearly Wanted a moment with himself and his emotions of an unexpected loss from a winning position and the Arbitrator didn't let him be & instead asked him to fill the move list 😯....That's NOT CIVIL Behavior...Clearly a sportsman needs some time to get to terms with a loss or a bad result...The Arbitrators should stay back and NOT hurry after a game...They should give as much time as the players wants to Get over a loss Or Let the Players discuss after the game. Many times I see in games when the players are going through the moves after the game.... the Arbitrator just STANDS OVER THEIR HEADS in a way coercing them to end their analysis....not acceptable....Some Post Match rules should change here...CHESS HAS TO BE MADE EMOTION FRIENDLY..like in soccer or other sports...the audience participates in the emotions of the players and so the audience connects better with the game...So in chess too the audience should be allowed to participate in the emotions of their favorite players....by giving them time to express their emotions.

Can someone tell those photographers to let the players get to their chairs. So annoying. This is supposed to be a world class event, not some Sunday afternoon park game. Look at how Firouzja had to literally push his way in.

His last loss wasn't due to playing badly, his opponent just played like an engine. But this loss was entirely his fault. He had the win in his pocket and blundered it away.

not at all, being one pawn ahead is trivial, Alireza defined this game, Gukesh was playing reactionary and at a lower level than Alireza who smack check mated him beautifully. It's savory to see the Indians poor sportmanship removing the chess board in the video not showing the last moves and final position which was one move from checkmate.Is that your best player India ? Learn to respect opponents next time especially Sagar.

@@GeraldM_inNC Sagar live comment were biased as hell, going by that is easy to misinterpret who dominated this game. It was not Gukesh. Alireza was making the moves, G played a reactionary offensive game.

Why did you remove the chess board at the end ? Checkmate was coming. Poor sportmanship by chessBase India and also poor comments by Sagar who failed to remark the superlative game by Alireza who made 4 amazing moves.
