When I become an old man and decide to make that awful decision to go to a cruiser bike it will most definitely be a Yamaha VMAX but I would prefer the gen 2 over the first gen, it has more power baby and better brakes.

I started with a Honda 70 then Suzuki 185 then Suzuki GS750 then RM 370 back to a GS 1000 and finally The Busa, That bike will kill you because you can't stop playing with that power. By the way the GS 1000 was the worst of all the bikes, not much more powerful than the 750 and worse balance, it was a dog. Sold it ASAP and got the Hayadusa years later.

Back in the late 70's, an inexperienced friend bought a Suzuki 400. We rode desert, and he came with us. It was his first and last time, it scared him too much. Rumor was you could buy a flywheel that attached to the crakshaft, supposedly taming it somewhat.

Pith off! You want to take all the fun and excitement out of things! A lot of us grew up battling those beasts for control, we had to learn to ride! Today they've got all sorts of electronic dummy savers and half the time it's not much to do with the rider. Those bikes were seriously challenging because you had to adapt to them, plus the Adrenalin rush of knowing the thing's desperately trying to kill you. I've ridden a full race Kawasaki 750 triple, that thing was bloody terrifying but, I got off it shaking like a leaf, not from fear but, from having so much adrenalin I could hardly stand! They're all old and NOBODY would pay the sort of money the surviving ones are worth without knowing EXACTLY what to expect so, you'll almost certainly never wind up on one, at least, not without either having thoroughly researched all about their failings or been warned by the owner of the classic old murder monster about everything since he'll want his expensive vintage insanity machine back in one piece too.

The most evil motorcycle I ever rode was a 1980 Honda Camino 50cc. After an epic 500 mile round trip I had to smash it to death with a length of iron bar, because I had already broken my big toe from trying to kick it to death. It was the most evil contemptuous piece of shit I ever borrowed from a friend. And that's the frickin truth 😁

Holy bloody dooly! That would have been an extremely steep learning curve! I have ridden one, both stock and then after being bored, ported and expansion chambers fitted for racing and I'd already been riding things like a Suzuki GT 550 for probably 15 years and it still terrified me whenever the road wasn't dead straight! You survived soooo, either you learnt fast and are a very natural rider or, you got rid of the thing immediately😳! What on earth possessed you to buy one of THEM for your first bike?!?! If it was a 'friend's suggestion, never talk to that person again as he was clearly trying to kill you! I started riding friends mini bikes whenever they'd let me till I raised enough money working after school and weekends to buy myself a humble little Suzuki A 100 for MY first bike, followed some years later by a huge upgrade to a Suzuki TS 185. You go straight for the most insane but deadly bike I know of! C ray zeeeee😱! Curiosity question. Do you need a forklift everywhere with you, just to carry your nuts???🤯💪.

Owned an old H2 750 Kawasaki for a couple years before a left-turning cage ended its life and almost ended mine. I guess the original owner didn't think it was fast enough, so Denco chambers, an extended swingarm, and some flat-slide Mikunis were added. It was trouble free while I had it, and scary fast. Of course the new bikes make it look slow.
@lorditsprobingtime6668
@lorditsprobingtime6668 Год назад
I know exactly what you mean! I rode a H2 750 that was bored, ported and had expansion chambers fitted for racing way back when and it was terrifying. More recently I had a BMW S 1,000 R weighing just on 200kg and punching out 165 hp and revving to 12,000 rpm and the ONLY really scary thing is to have held that throttle open for a bit and see just how insanely fast you're going WITHOUT it being a drama and terror filled experience. I absolutely LOVED that bike but, man you could get in a lot of trouble SOOOOO quickly. Wheel standing at well over the ton, aka 100 mph or 160 ks in modern speed is a breeze for it yet, nothing really is dramatic, just scary when you find yourself already going around a bend you thought was still a fair way down the road. I overtook a string of cars that I'd been stuck behind for miles and found myself looking down at the speedo as I tucked back in to see 285 kph! I only overtook about 8 cars from about 60 kph but using the revs and all it's power but geezus, I never expected it to get to speeds like that so bloody quickly. No real drama, no huge adrenalin rush, just excellent handling and crazy quick, that thing did 140 ks, just in FIRST FFS BUT, not near as much of an adventure, one with very obvious risks. All that made bikes like the H2 so much more challenging and exciting.

I think someone has been reading way too much Stephen King horror stories. Open class (370¬500cc) motocross bikes had around 60bhp with weights around 250lbs The Kawasaki H2 didn't actually have a massive power output and it was probably 'safer' than the H1 which had a REALLY flexible frame (swing arm could be flexed to make tyre touch rear shock) Husky 125? You gotta be joking! 1985 V-Max, you obviously never rode one. The 'full power' version had 148bhp with 'quite good' acceleration. Bit wallowy but most bikes were back then Honda Cub? 55 MILLION people can't be wrong. Takes a ton of abuse and misuse. Our bike club once did a 24 hr charity ride with one, 25 riders all keeping it full throttle. I forget exact number but it was around 33mph for 24hrs, including rider changes and refueling. Never missed a beat (plus the engine and derivatives still being made in China with much larger capacity than Honda intended)
