The price for this HMX frame is 5400 USD on their website. Like you said, the wheels another 4k. The groupset around 3200 USD, That's 12600 right there. What you get for the rest of 3400 USD?

@@laiphe Uhm, well... the groupset alone is another 3000 USD. Indeed doesn't include the cockpit and seat, and it should be no surprise that you pay a little extra on top of that from the factory.

Crazy that for this price you can buy the scott foil with ultegra di2, a scott addict rc with ultegra di2 and a scott adict gravel with sram rival axs. The bike can be the best in the world, but if i'm not a pro, i would never go for it. Great review never the less

I was wondering about buying their gravel alluminium bike, and the lowest spec model + aftermarket SRAM rival axs, is cheaper than the model they sell with the SRAM rival. And it's not only cheaper, you have money left to upgrade the hb+stem and seat options.

@@bernardo9202 last year I bought scott addict rc 10 from 2020. Brand new never used. I guess no one wanted mechanical dura Ace. Retail price was just under 5k$ I got it for 3700$. Upgraded to carbon handlebar and carbon wheels and whole build is roughly 5k.Today the lowest spec model on 105 is over 5k lol... And addict rc 10 just like mine only difference is di2 dura Ace is 10k. This is nuts

I'm still joining to buy a Scott addict gravel with grx 810, mechanical. To be my do it all bike and replace my giant contend 3.

I would choose this over pinarello or colnago. Simply because it looks like a spaceship. If i was rich i would buy this. Wich is exactly why im not rich. Also paint is perfection. Minimal and beautiful. Stealthy. Like the skin of a fighter jet. Minimal hub sound. Dont want your enemies hearing what your doing! Exquisite!!!!! You could blend into the background with this bike. Its like scott are making bikes just to tempt me these days

I agree that it is a nice bike but isn't the way cheaper Giant Propel in its top spec coming in at the UCI weight limit (in a medium size?). The biggest advantage of the Foil is that it really looks premium, but there are only two opinions on (matte) black bikes, it would have been great to at least get an accent color so that it isn't just the wealthy man's sleeper bike in all instances.

As someone who's never ridden a road bike and only mtbs, that's crazy. I could buy 2 top of the line ebikes from a direct to consumer brand like vitus with carbon frame/wheels and factory suspension for that price. That said, I really want a road bike haha. Just a more reasonable one as I wouldn't even be able to appreciate the nuance of this bike. Great video, it's fun to look at this kind of bike.

You didn't really explain the "why" part of the cost. If it's supposedly got "top tier" carbon, then why is the weight so high? For a small size at this price point, it should be 14lbs. Just saying it's the best doesn't make it the best, I'm still waiting for these companies to justify any of the claims.

I just picked up the Foil RC 30 about a week ago and the paint on that (For about 1/3rd of the price) looks way better than this. Even if I had the money for the ultimate, I'd buy the Foil RC 30 or 20 and upgrade it just to have a cool paint job.

BTW Pogachar rides hookless ENVE wheels, and crashed everyone from the start of the season! P.S. I think for a light rider, who is below 70kg hookless is an okay option, but for guys above 80kg is a no-go. The thicker rider needs bigger pressure in the tyres, which is a danger zone for hookless.

I put the same wheelset on a Gen 7 Madone. I think it looks waaaay better than this Scott and all in I’m 4k less (granted I’m 12spd ultegra) 16.5lb for a 56 with pedals and mounts on (stock bontrager wheels would be 9K price tag for the full bike)

That’s why I’ve never bought any high end bikes complete, buy the parts yourself so if fits correctly and get a any good shop mechanic to build it for a couple hundred max.
