As a Korean, I could say one of the psychological reasons why the South Korean army invests in tank development is that we heavily suffered PTSD against North Korean tanks during the Korean war. At the time the war broke out, NK had 242 Soviet T-34 tanks, whereas SK had absolutely none and in shortage of anti-tank weaponry. Apart from the element of surprise, because of those tanks, South Korea lost 90% of its land within two months and was about to be wiped out before the intervention of the UN forces. The main image of the invading North Korean army is still the 'Tank Blitz' for elders who experienced the war. That image still haunts most of the SK populace these days.

you forgot to mention one of the "Armor" of the K2. its Active Protection System that shoots down incoming projectile (rumored that it can also defeat APFSDS round) or disrupts guidance systems from guided munitions.

When I first started working on the F-22, we were purchasing them for $260m each. Even 40+ year old fighters are $30m+. I was not expecting tanks to be so much less expensive.

Also, America has the best kinetic energy munitions in the world at 1600 m/s with an APFSDS depleted uranium penetrator while Korea has a 1300 m/s APFSDS with the inferior tungsten penetrator.

at 1:35 they used t-34 (USSR 1941) instead of m-48 (USA 1952) you can even see the Soviet star at 3:35 they used for the front of the k2 the t-14 armata (russia) and has 125mm gun at 8:35 they used AMX-40 (france) instead of the M1 ABRAMS and reused it for the challenger 2 i'm so triggered

I don’t know who did the research for this video but the Korean K2 MBT is not the most expensive tank in the world. It costs 8.5 Million USD while both German Leopard 2A7 ($12+ million USD) and French Le Clerc ($10+ million USD) cost more.

Ugh... $8-9mm isn't "the most expensive tank" out there. The Japanese Type-10 is ~$15mm per unit and the latest Leopard 2A7V is close to ~$20mm.

The K1A1 was our MBT not the M48. M48's were still in use and when our new K2's were done, we scrapped the 48's. It's wrong to say the K2 is replacing the m48 because the K1 already did that.

"CHEAPER THAN TYPE 10 JAPANESE TANK" K2 and type 10 have the same performance

ERA are mainly use for disrupting the chemical energy of HEAT shells or RPGs and does not offer much protection against normal kinectic shell like normal AP shells or APFSDS shells.... So ERA does not gives protections against all kind of projectiles.... And while Auto-loader does gives advantages such as more space in tank, smaller tank design and stable firing rate, its also less practical in case of tank maintenance and if any crew get injured or knocked, the combat power would drop dramatically since not much man power left can be use the operate the tank...
