people who try to complete hoenn dex wouldnt either, that thing is the last thing i need for the dex ,as a child i didnt even know it existed until i finally found bulbapedia and search it ,its really rare too the whole experience on how to get that thing will always be remembered.
Same here. I just don't like Gastrodon (though he's strong) and Floatzel aldo never caught my attention. At least I always thought Lumineon is a beautiful pokémon, so I got him in my team :)
I have a very funny story about Lumineon so I’ll never forget about it. It was 2007 and Diamond had just came out. I was 9 and i was stuck on finding out what the last 2 Pokémon to complete the regional dex for the absolute longest time as i didn’t watch Pokémon RU-vid or use the internet much to look things up. So i literally roamed the Sinnoh region for probably a good 2-3 months just stuck until one day i found one randomly and that might have been the most excited I’ve ever been about a Pokémon game. Good times, these games have brought me so many good memories
As much as I love chimecho from the bottom of my heart, Relicanth is objectively less forgettable. It had that whole mini quest to find the Regis (iirc) thanks to the map on its body
Barbaracle did appear in Sword and Shield. You may not have noticed if you played shield, but if you had Sword then you got Gordy as a version exclusive gym leader and he used Barbaracle as his opener. I remember having difficulty with it as well as I arranged my team to start with my water type to gain an advantage against rock only to not be able to O-KO it and he got off his shell smash and proceeded to sweep half my team. It was actually a great opener for a rock team if you didnt have a grass type.
When I was a kid, I actually really thought Chimecho was a pseudo legendary pokemon and was sort of like Absol or Salamance in terms of how cool it was. I seriously thought it was very rare and meant as a secret Salamance counter.
Chimecho I feel isn't forgotten because most people remember how obscenely rare it was in RSE despite being a rather weak Pokemon and it often finds itself on lists of that kind. Legends Arceus also gave it a lil' love with the cute side quest about it finding a home in the eaves of an old lady's house.
@tdog I've never really used one in battle so that's neat to know! It could probably use a lil' stat boost. Power creep has gutted so many Gen I-III Pokemon.
I actually forgot Chimecho existed until I saw it in the video but I remember how insanely rare it was and that was more memorable. It took me probably an hour or two hours to finally find one back in Emerald and it was the only one I ever caught not only in that game but the entire time I've played the Pokemon games.
I specifically remember how rare it was too. On the other hand, Grumpig is a Pokemon I routinely forget about, and then when I do remember I don't really care to keep remembering because it is just so boring. Not that Chimecho is all that much better, but could have easily been swapped with Grumpig, IMO.
Chimecho isnt that rare. Spoink was much rarer in actual RSE because, despite what bulbapedia says, it does not have a 20% encounter rate and the guides for encounters during Gen 3 literally were wrong for where its encountered, claiming it was on the road between Nagasaki and Watson.
@@F14thunderhawk Chimecho is only a 2% encounter on exactly one map in the Gen 3 games--Mt. Pyre's summit. Not sure if this was changed for the Omega games. Spoink is only found on one route (Jagged Pass), but that route is much larger and it has a much higher encounter rate.
I'm shocked that for Gen 5 you didn't mention Maractus, maybe it's so forgotten that it's memorable? I try to incorporate different Pokemon in game revisits though there's a few reasons some are forgotten like an obnoxious evolution criteria or maybe even the fact that they don't evolve at all. Though I'm actually always wanted to use a Sandaconda or Hippowdon on a team at some point and I think Rellor wasn't commonly found early in game and the 1000 step thing can turn some players off, Rabsca could be solid but it just made me remember my appreciation for Orbeetle for a cool Bug type. Hopefully we can more have surprise evolutions or different forms to older Pokemon to reignite interest or even some stat distribution changes to make more appealing in game.
Maractus has been getting a lot of attention lately. Its always been “known” as the forgotten Pokémon that it’s not forgotten anymore. Which also made me love it even more! It’s also famous in Stow-On-Side in Galar :)
Barbaracle actually did get a lot of attention when people first found out about it due to how ridiculous it looks. Some people even say it looks like a Mega Man X boss. 😂
Exactly. Plus, I ran a competitive VGC style league for 2 years during the SwSh Era and saw so many uses out of Sandaconda too. These people were from all over the world, so I'm pretty sure it isn't forgotten.
I actually really like Granbull as a Fairy type. I used it in my first Y playthrough and while its far from competitively viable, it hit hard with Play Rough and Intimidate was always useful.
Wolfey showed how useful and how much of a nuisance Rabsca is in doubles. With Rabsca learning rest, revival blessing, sleep talk, and its tera type being steel. Since sleep talk ignores how much pp a move has.
The main reason I remember Cryagonal is because Chuggaaconroy used it on his Pokemon BW team and sung its few praises, since it's a kind of pokemon that can be hard to come by with a fun, even if niche, stat spread. Also, Chuggaaconroy has a hell of a way of making underwhelming/rated pokemon actually seem viable if he wants to (See every poison type he talks about in his Pokemon bios for proof)
adds to this Sandaconda was one I searched for and had until the end of the game for me in Sw/Sh I just,, loved it's Gigantamax form so much for some reason. I know his stats are bad but he's cute and i love the snek
For Gen 9, I gotta say Squackabilly is probably the most forgettable. It’s not on any memorable teams, and you have to go out of your way to even encounter it usually. When I was completing my Pokédex, I had never even encountered one with 150+ hours in the game. And it took me a while to find it because I refused to look online. Eventually I found the one on your house, but if I didn’t happen to notice the item that was also on the roof, I never would’ve found it. I only recently learned it has different forms.
The big frown that appeared on my face when Komala showed up... ☹️ I love that little guy. I was celebrating when I saw he was coming back for Scarlet and Violet.
Kingler is more forgotten than Seaking. No important trainer used it in aby game. The only reason people remember it is because of Ash's. I think something like Hypno is more forgotten.
Yea I feel like hypno is memorable just from its creepy, short story line in firered/leafgreen then kingler is big on the anime. Seaking isn't featured in the anime or games. I think Misty's sister had a seaking maybe? So yea near 0 exposure.
Kingler was my False Swiper in Gen 8 (there weren't many easy options) & it had Gigantimax, while Ash's 1st Ever League Match made it memorable in Gen 1. Seaking was basically Lumineon during Gen 1 that somehow had Waterfall before it was an HM.
I'm not really a Rellor fan but I'm a fan of its evolution method. I think it's hilarious to have it walk across the desert (that's where I walked it, a town might work too), so funny and refreshing
I personally love Chimeco because of mystery dungeon. I'm one of those people that was absolutely obsessed with the explorers games and even some pokemon with minor roles still stand out to me. The little chime will always be the friend who helps me change my team
Chimecho had important role in the anime when it was apart of Team Rocket Plus it got a cute side mission in PLA Battle wise like in games I can see it as forgotten but definitely other hoenn pokemon that are more forgettable. Otherwise multiple on this list had me like oh yaaaa that one
@@cynda1178 Relicanth is the fossil fish thing that unlocks the Regis, not as famous as Chimecho although not nearly as forgettable as Grumpig (I always forget that thing was in the Hoenn Dex) it suffers from Lumineon Syndrome much harder than Seaking does.
Bit late to the party, but I was playing Pokemon Colosseum the other day and Politoed popped up on my opponent’s team and I *completely* forgot it existed. Anyway, great video as always 🧡
I always remember Lumineon because I thought I finished the gen 4 pokedex before realising I had one pokemon I’d never seen and had to evolve finneon especially to finish it. It was easy to forget and overlook it became memorable for me lol
Yeah which is true but you couldn’t get Beldum until the post game tho. At least in games like RSE, ORAS, SwSh, DPPT, & BDSP. I’m not sure about other Pokémon games post Gen 3.
I like to smoke and get high while I watch my videos. And yo ass had me thinking I accidentally went to the beginning of the video 😂 great video! I agree with this but Gen 3 I gotta give it too surskits evo. Idk if its even good competitive just was so late game I never bothered with it. Lechonk was so popular it actually has a twitch emote lol. I use it all the time 😂
That's funny, I did my whole first SwSh run with Sandaconda. I always exclusively use new Pokemon on my first playthrough and I really liked Sandaconda.
Thievul is the Pokémon that when I first saw for the first time I thought it was a fakemon. I genuinely did not believe it was a real pokemon until i searched it up.
Aww I loved my Chimecho in Diamond! I got my baby Chingling and BlingBling was on my team the entire rest of the game. It helps that it required happiness to evolve so I fell in love ❤️
Rabsca was my favorite new Pokémon. It’s a nice reference to khepri from Egyptian mythology. Revival blessing is also fitting since he was responsible to reviving Ra every morning.
For Gen 3 I’d have to say Clampearl line. I had no idea that Clampearl, Gorbyss and Huntail even existed until I started my living dex, barely ever see them anywhere
Funniest part of Rabsca was that I had one on my first team because of me making my first run all bug types. The one I forgot the most was Paldean Tauros because I didn’t even encounter a single one until I fought the gym teacher and even then it doesn’t stand out much
Unfortunately Komala is one Pokémon that I will never forget exists as it was the first ever failed shiny encounter capture I had because I killed it as I didn't realize it was shiny until it was too late.
0:40 yeah gavantula is kinda underrated i mean it carried me in the great league before in pokemon go, and i got a mewtwo from that so i congratulate him dearly.
I’m so happy girafarig and stantler are no longer forgotten because i never forgot them because of soul silver being my favourite. Also I love giraffes and deer
There was that cute Chimecho quest in PLA, at least. Komala saw a bit of a spotlight as Larry's lead mon for his gym team but yeah, is otherwise unremarkable.
Octillery is in my opinion more of a forgotten pokemon than Granbull will ever be. Comfey instead of komala too. And for Scrlet and Violet i would like to mention Squawkabilly, I only realized it exist when i wanted to complete the pokedex.
Honestly, Barbaracle is one of my favorite pokemon because one of my first shinies I got was a Barbaracle in Ultra Sun, and was surprisingly very useful, although it was post Ultra Necrosma Still holds a place in my heart as being one of the shinies I remember getting the most
I never forgot about Lumineon because it has a beautiful design and I won my first contest in Platinum with her. However,do wish Lumineon gets an evolution that looks like mix of Dragonair and Milotic just to buff her. Handdown one of my favorite water mon's.
I will say, a lot of mons are only forgettable due to the way they're presented. In New Pokemon Snap for example Luvdisc and Lumineon are far less forgettable (IMO).
Cryogonal is not forgettable as it was in the Kyurem movie and I got a shiny from an outbreak in SV. Binnacle line is not forgettable to me as it's my favorite Water/Rock. I also got a shiny from USUM.
Seaking may suck but I’ve enjoyed using it in raids confusing raid bosses with Lightning Rod drill run combo I’ve used it against the zeraora raids in SwSh and it’s an alright supporter. But yeah design wise it’s just a fish and that’s fine, that’s all it needs to be (Also sandaconda’s sand spit isn’t bad, sand stream WILL run out, sand spit will continue to activate (AND will overwrite other weathers) so it’s effects don’t need to be immediate.
Am i the only person on this planet that used Rabsca on his team? He was pretty good to and i like his concept a lot, the ball that he hold's in his purple smoke is an egg
I really like granbull and snubble. I was glad they got the fairy type. I used it on my teams growing up when i didnt know about stats. Now i kinda wish i didnt know because i feel a compulsion to check a Pokémon stats to see if i want to keep it on my team. Anyone able to recommend a grass type Pokémon for voilet? I have arborliva but it doesn't seem to have a big variety of moves.
I remember Komala and Chimecho cuz they were very present in the anime. From those generations i would said that Delcatty and Bruxish are the most forgotten from their generations.
@@JamesTheCelestial Gen 3 is a really hard gen to pick an forgotten Pokémon. You have so many big names in there and forgettable Pokémon that are remember for being forgettable.
When he asks if Game Freak even added a pure water type to gen 4 and pulled up Lumineon, without even mentioning Floatzel, I knew he picked the wrong one.
Chimecho appeared in the anime a bunch I think, and if you do pokedex collecting it's pretty memorable due to being really a rare encounter. I think Huntail is more forgettable even though it's the counterpart to Gorebyss (the only thing it's memorable for). No trainers use it (at least that I remember), it's impossible to get in the normal game (requires trading), and it's not particularly memorable when you see it. I don't even think it had much of an anime presence.
