Always hated this episode. SpongeBob is visibly injured and then everyone takes Patrick's side for no reason 🙄

i didnt just hate patrick in this episode, i hated the bystanders blaming spongebob for what happened

God i hated this episode for a long time. The worst part was when that one fish said " yknow kid its not your body thats the problem, its your heart, you deserved what you gotten" like bruh wtf Spongebob was completely justified at being angry at patrick as he was responsible for making the situation worse. Imagine someone you know hits you with a car on purpose, you did absolutely nothing wrong to them they just do it, and the injury causes your legs to be paralyzed so you cant walk ever again and when you get mad at the dude for putting you in this situation some asshole says "your legs aren't the problem its your heart, you deserve to get paralyzed" I swear the writers of this episode didnt know how to write good morals.

My God. The people of Bikini Bottom are idiots. Plankton could take over the town & that would be fine.

Awful episode that teaches kids "You can abuse, torment, and hurt others, but as long as YOU think you're in the right, then you ARE in the right~. After all, your FEELINGS are more important than anything~. So what if you were abusing and hurting this person? It's THEIR fault for daring to push back against you. They didn't consider your feelings~.." This is completely degenerate and twisted. Awful thing to teach a developing child. And the worst part, there's people who actually believe this. This isn't fiction...

I think the worst part about this episode is the townsfolk. They can see that Spongebob is obviously having a bad time, and make absolutely no effort to help him out of his wringer, and get mad when Spongebob finally has an outburst about it!

I hate this episode so much, SpongeBob being told that "He deserved what he got" for being mean pisses me off, SpongeBob did nothing wrong and it just reminds me how stupid people are and to be like SpongeBob and be assertive.

I cant stand one tooth patrick, thats how you can immediately tell off of one frame if its a newert episode or not.

The worst part about this episode looking back was how Patrick kept avoiding the issue and messing things up further rather than ACTUALLY helping SpongeBob get out the damn thing!

the worst part is that real life people act like the people of bikini bottom. they don’t pay attention to any sort of others problems until the victim snaps back at the aggressor. and they get mad at the victim thinking they’re the actual aggressor

The moral of this episode: Others have the right to be mad at you, but you must NEVER give any of that back because you are everyone's punchingbag. And if you ever dare to hurt someone's feelings, you are the devil, no matter what they did to deserve it.

I think the worst part really is when the people shame SpongeBob and tell him he deserves what he’s gotten like that part is so infuriating to me. SpongeBob had literally every right to be upset.

When I saw this episode way back then. Even as I kid this episode made me feel really bad for SpongeBob and pissed off at everyone else

The one toothed Patrick infuriates me so hard

I have an few suggestions but this one mainly... you may have heard of this episode but: the infamous episode "Gone". Imagine waking up one day and seeing that your friends and loved ones just gone and you slowly lose your sanity. Only for them to return and find out they made an holiday about getting away from you and hearing how "fun" it was and burning a wooden version of yourself. Like listen, I know Spongebob can be annoying but this is the same sea sponge that literally provides everyone krabby patties with love in it and gives Mr. Krabs money because of it. A few ones I would also suggest is "Grandma's Kiss", this episode is just Spongebob loving his grandma yet everyone in town treats it like its the MOST embarrassing thing ever, like jeez the towns folk are RUTHLESS as hell. On a lighter note, I was gonna suggest "Atlantis SquarePantis" but that's more of an "Wait, people HATED this episode?" moment for me. Since I'mma be real, I don't understand why people don't like it (I like it as a kid, and I still do as an adult).

What's even worse about this episode is that it is PATRICK'S RUBBER DUCK that is, for some reason, in Spongebob's house in the middle of the bathroom floor that causes Spongebob to jump back, slide on the bar of soap, and get stuck in the ringer. Patrick was at fault before even showing up on screen!

I know how to fix this episode. Instead of purposefully gluing SpongeBob into the wringer, have Patrick not know where he even got the glue and give it to SpongeBob while he's in the wringer. Then have Patrick use grease on his hands like chalk so he could pull SpongeBob out only to get slingshotted back and make SpongeBob wince, squeeze the glue bottle, and accidentally glue himself in the wringer. Then, spend the rest of the episode having Patrick (believing that gluing SpongeBob into the wringer was his fault) trying to find the solvent for the glue, get Sandy involved with creating the solvent, and take SpongeBob to the carnival to cheer him up instead of causing more pain and suffering. Since Sandy reveals, despite having the glue, it will take her a few days to create the solvent. As for the carnival scene, have Patrick win SpongeBob the seahorse plush instead of having SpongeBob fail to play the game and have the spinning ride fiasco be Patrick not thinking things through. As for the bit with crying, Patrick works hard to not cry during the whole episode as he wants to remain strong and crying doesn't solve any problems. But at the end of the episode, at the carnival, SpongeBob fails to eat ice cream and this causes Patrick to break down and the two inadvertently discover that tears are the solvent for said glue. They cry and SpongeBob is freed. But instead of saying that crying solves all problems, have SpongeBob say, "I guess crying can solve SOME problems after all." Then SpongeBob and Patrick both end up stuck in the wringer and Patrick, wanting to know if Sandy's solvent works as well as crying says, "If you want to see if Sandy's salt-vent works, the glue's in my back pocket" Let me know if this is a good rewrite.

SpongeBob had EVERY RIGHT to snap at Patrick! Those townspeople are incredibly stupid!!

Spongebob got the Squidward treatment in this episode

As silly as it may sound, the episode's moral could have been handled so much better. Crying does not solve the problem in question but it's does help alleviate the tension and let others see that something went wrong. Inside Out is a good example of this.

I hate that episode, but there are worse episodes like The Splinter, Someone's In The Kitchen with Sandy, One Coarse Meal, Pet Sitter Pat and Ink Lemonade

i remember as a kid being horribly disturbed over that icecream scene. not because i had a weird squick when it comes to throats but because of the idea of the esophagus being squeezed to the point where nothing will enter the stomach. little kid me was terrified over the idea of spongebob starving to death that way

Definitely! Stuck in the Wringer is a very unpleasant episode where SpongeBob has to go through massive pain and Suffering. Not to mention, Patrick was no help in this either. He put forever glue on his OWN BEST FRIEND and It lead to SpongeBob's day going horribly. And SpongeBob had every Right to Scold Patrick for all the pain he went through. And the rest of the Citizens of bikini bottom had the nerve To side with him. ( Even though Patrick started the problem in the first place!) And it has the absolutely WORST message ever. SpongeBob: i guess crying really does help solve you're problems after all. Uh... No i doesn't. It makes you look very annoying. This is a very painful Episode to sit through. This is one of the few SpongeBob Episodes that you can Skip. In fact, this is easily one of the Worst Episodes of the Show. And with that. I gotta Give this episode the BIG stamp of Garbage! 💩🗑️ 4/10

Words cannot describe how much I despise this episode. This is easy top 5 if not top 3 of worst SpongeBob episodes. The fact that Patrick just keeps on ignoring that he just ruined his best friend’s life and treating it like it’s nothing is just insufferable. And then how the citizens of Bikini Bottom just say that he deserves it for yelling at Patrick. And then you have that horrid ending where right after SpongeBob finally gets the stupid wringer off, they both get stuck in it again, just repeating the rest of the episode all over again. And then, right after Patrick seemed to have learnt his lesson, he just asks if he should get the glue again. He never learnt anything at all. This probably could’ve permanently ended SpongeBob and Patrick’s friendship. This might even be one of my least favourite episodes. And no, I don’t just mean in season 7, or in the mid seasons of SpongeBob (6-8) or even in the whole show. I mean in all episodes in any tv show. This is one of the worst episodes in all of HISTORY.

i've never really found this episode frustrating, its just kinda makes me feel sad for spongebob. but i do realize how this episode can be frustrating for some people/spongebob fans.

That one scene from this episode always infuriated me. Spongebob gets called out for being the bad guy, but he had every right to yell at Patrick!

Please do a review on season 7 episode called "One coarse meal" seriously its about an episode where Mr.Krabs dresses up as Pearl to scare Plankton because whales eat plankton and he ends up in a suicidal state. i havent seen this episode in years but from this review the wringer kinda feels like a metaphor for invisible disability. the way patrick immediately and without asking, "tries to help" and makes everything infinitely worse, spongebob trying to use the wringer as a tool when making krabby patties to handle his limited mobility and his struggles resulting in him being fired/suspended for things he really couldnt control, patrick missing what seemed like very obvious accessibility issues resulting in spongebob getting more and more injured and hurt, and all of these things building up to a group of people seeing an exhausted, overwhelmed person snapping in a moment of being completely fed up, and blaming him despite him very much being justified in his anger, all reminds me of the lives of myself and my friends when dealing with mental health or physical disabilities like POTS

Its sad that it's more well written than any of the new SpongeBob episodes. Can't bother to watch modern versions of SpongeBob. Edit: ok some of you guys say 9-12 seasons are great. Will see if that is true.

The worst part of this episode is that it feels fundamentally flawed. The scene where the fish tells SpongeBob that his heart is the problem literally makes no sense. Why would they put that in the script when the next scene has Patrick regretting what he did? It's not just bad writing, it feels like it shouldn't have been in the there. Like a line that was supposed to be removed from the script. This episode feels like an unfinished draft written by two different people who didn't know what the end goal was.

whenever glue shows up in a cartoon there’s trouble

Now that i think about it... they never try to fix the problem, they dont look at the glue to see if they can remove it, they dont ask sandy forr help, even mr crabs would normally help after noticing the problem, they just immedeitly decide to live with it

This episode could be saved with ONE simple change: don't make Patrick GLUE Bob to the wringer. For the most part he was genuinely trying to make his friend feel better, but he's negligent because 1- it was HIS FAULT 2- doesn't feel guilty 3- never tried to get help for his friend.

The thing I hated about this episode was just seeing SpongeBob stuck in the ringer made me feel so uncomfortable and claustrophobic.

This episode really got my goat blaming SpongeBob for having feelings and being angry because Patrick made him miserable cause of the glue. Then the bystanders blame him for getting upset it’s so sickening

Also, unlike The Splinter here Patrick actually tried what he could to make Bob feel better. Didn't tried to kill him with an infection. He's just an idiot because nothing of these would happen if it wasn't for the goddamn GLUE.

As a kid (and sort of even now) I would always cry or at least tear up whenever SpongeBob is sad or has some sort of miserable experience or something. This episode was always hell for me😭

Yeah, this and the Number 54 Card episode are genuinely infuriating to me. SpongeBob was absolutely in the right to get angry with Patrick with how apathetic he was to the pain and torture he put Spongebob through, but somehow Spongebob is the bad guy? Plus I’m sorry, but in what freaking world would gluing him into the wringer be a good idea? Why not just have Patrick try to give him some kind of lubricant to get him out, but Patrick realizes he either mislabeled what he had or picked up the wrong one? Why not have Patrick actively try to rectify his mistake instead of just torturing SpongeBob like an idiot? There’s so many ways you could make this episode work but they chose all the wrong ways…

Now i finally understand why people hate modern Spongebob. Is not that he isn't funny anymore, but rather everything around him is so fucning infuriating. What were they thinking?!

I've always hated this episode. Definitely goes against the morals of what Stephen Hillenburg built up for the show. Even as a kid back then, I was disgusted and disturbed that the writers believed making the fish heads turn against Spongebob was a good idea, but in fact, it made the audience and even the children angry. This is because the fish dicks didn't know what Patrick was doing while he was making the situation worse and indirectly would've crippled Spongebob for the rest of his life.🤦‍♂️ This episode is such a toxic message towards the audience by setting up a dialogue and antagonizing the victim while justifying the abusive mistakes of a "friend" who doesn't listen to you. 🙄

Oh my, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who absolutely hates that scene where fishes accuse SpongeBob for nothing while he's suffering, it's just so wrong, terrible and embarrassing, I hated it as a kid and I still hate it. Also now I understand it better and I can see that SpongeBob is doing what he absolutely SHOULD do and Patrick acts like a very stupid criminal, like he trapped SpongeBob, made him suffer and now is saying that SpongeBob is wrong. That scene is just agonizingly wrong and twisted, I want all of these fishes and Patrick from that episode to rot in the jail.

Everytime i see the title card my brain is like welp time to change the channel whenever i get to see the episode so basically i don't take Patrick's side he is too clueless to understand why put glue!?

I remember when I first watched this episode, something didn't sit right with me. I was constantly worrying for Spongebob, and was getting pissed when everyone felt bad for Patrick, someone that didn't even feel any remorse for what he did. It was also very OOC for Patrick (the one Patrick at least) to do. He was dumb, but not malicious

The messed up part is that SB tries to live with the wringer and go along with Patrick's attempts to make him feel better. But when this doesn't work and he just ends up more miserable and beaten down, then he gets upset, which is understandable by that point. He didn't start with anger, he got there naturally with Patrick's antics. I think even the artists knew how ridiculous it was for the bystanders to lash out at SB because when they tell him, "Maybe it's not your body, maybe you just have an ugly heart," they zoom into SB's chest and his heart is adorable yet saddened by the notion of being called ugly.

You should still cover “Pet or Pests”

Call it a rewrite if you want. SpongeBob is stucked and can't leave the wringer. Patrick tries to help him to get out. Bob tells Patrick that he needs to get wet to slide through the wringer. Patrick breaks SpongeBob's bathtub. Patrick tries to take him out by brute force, just to get him even more stucked. Water wouldn't work to help this time. Out of options Bob suggests to visit Sandy for help to take the device out. But she must take like a week to get some type of slippery oil to slide Bob through. Meanwhile she tells Patrick to keep him entertained, going to GloveWorld. Bob gets disappointed because he couldn't play most of the games while Patrick won everything. This time he's rightfully called out by the people when he lashes out to Patrick. They both apologise (as in New Student Starfish) and in the end they can't wait for that long, so Sandy just cuts the wringer in half freeing Bob.

This kinda fits Patrick's personality tbh, he does nefarious things that only cause chaos in a ton of episodes for the fun of it

My least favorite episode(pre season nine) was that one splinter episode. Euugh, gives me shivers just thinking about it

I find it so funny that Spngebob shows more empathy in the squidward mustard scene than PATRICK DOES IN THE ENTIRE EPISODE LIKE WHAT 😭

So apparently whenever you’re hurt or even physically/emotionally damaged, nobody will care because the victim loves seeing you suffer and the bystanders don’t care, they want to see you contemplate suicide.

I never liked this episode. I means props to Spongebob for telling Patrick off but, according to the townsfolk, the sponge is in the wrong for yelling at someone that made his situation worse? Seasons 6-8 were truly backwards.

Saw my buddy Spongyreviews in the beginning! Glad you did Stuck in the Wringer though I hate this episode. My next suggestion would be Squid Baby.

This is the perfect episode to demonstrate why I hate Patrick. He does stupid stuff like this all the time, making everything worse. Like the episode where Patrick is drowning and SpongeBob tries to save him, but Patrick literally tears the entire boat apart. Like he’s a hindrance
