Great try for a pilot episode of the series I know its not easy. I do think it fell short of providing enough value in the technical aspects though. It felt very broad and didnt really go over any of the design theory behind WHY their design choices work. For example: the first person the designer, she has the plants on each side of her frame overlapping the frame edge which is a design technique used in flatlay and food photo and video to make the composition feel more lived in and less fake. Her shirt is a good contrast but the geometric pattern and slightly formal look re-assures the viewer that she is a professional in her industry. The fact that the shirt is tastefully chosen and fitted subconsciously tell the viewer we can trust her design information, rather than if she was in a not well 'designed' outfit and had clashing colours or something than that would make us trust her information less. each of the lamps in the background motivates the colour of the video lights used to light her, Lamp on left of frame motivates her key light making it feel more believable. Warmer lamp on camera right motivates her hair light being warm too. The artwork on the lower right of frame is a leading line to her face, for when the viewer starts looking at the details in the background there is a natural direction back to her face as the presenter. Finally and most obvious she has her setup in a nice 3ish layer scene to enhance the feeling of depth and space in what could be a small area. Plant on right of frame, notepads and desk are foreground, presenter lady is mid ground, then the lamps, artworks and last plant for the background layer. Whether she did these design choices consciously knowing the design principles or subconsciously through aquired taste. Those elements are all there and are more valuable to tell people the WHY and what design principle is being utilised, and maybe as a true value add, how the person viewing (and wanting to learn) can use each design principle shown to transfer to their own YT studio spot or when filming others in presenting roles. Hopefully that is useful feedback. It will give people greater value from the video in education, going into the principles used and the WHY they work to make an engaging presenting frame. Good luck with the future episodes in the series 🙂🤙
