Also, after the command grab super you DO get a guaranteed combo. I know people rush to put out content really fast after dlc so it's all good, just telling you :D
I only play +R where everyone is bonkers so no complaints from me. 🤣 I would want to get into Strive because of the larger playerbase to play with, but I can't really get myself to like it :/ Might change in the future though, who knows, but it's a lot of work to learn multiple games, there's that too 🤣 PLAY +R!
What’s Funny, 😅I was scared they would implement Happy Chaos Gunplay Mechanics to her shotgun 💯 Thank god she’s just a simple mixup character…Imagine?😂💯
I know that I probably destroyed some lives by maining El in rev but still freaking enjoyed her. She is just waaaay too fun. In strive she still feels very simillar. Yes we lost pineberry but got a cool mixup stance instead and a goddamn Johnny cross up hop(no wonder he doesn't have this in strive). I love too that they changed alot of her op normals from rev but they still feel quite good. Elphelt mains eating good today.
@@thetoxicraptorz3482 I actually enjoyed her quirky personality so maybe that's why. She didn't change in strive though. Still likes to talk alooooot about the same stuff as in rev.
I don't know how she ended up the most hated when Zappa in +R could do a full screen high low that you just have to respect. Though it is nice to see that Ishiwatari was also a fan of Noel Vermillion.
@@Ramsey276onezappa’s sword. Projectile with no hurtbox that he sends outwards. Can go fullscreen with a 13f overhead that hits low afterwards, and if he’s jumping the mids become highs
She actually have some cool things to do with that grenade move, like going corner to corner with a wall break on a counter hit. On blockstrings, her HS (the pistol one) put her at the perfect distance to do a double cross-up with the grenade + 236S or HS, where you cross the opponent but then jump back while the projectile is homing into they back. That move puts her into "air state" so you can do any air move and also jump or dash, but you are not plus on block and they can hit you on reaction or mash. She don't need to be a hard character, but you can MAKE her a hard character if you want with some cool combos. Sorry if my English sucks, i'm brazillian
@@zpellet6326 Yeah, i just lab it, thanks for the info. The combo i discover is about the same thing, but you use 5S (Counter hit) + 6H with a wild assault, its almost the same thing but with a easier starter, 6h don't combo without a counter hit on 5S though :(
Seu inglês tá bom até pô, só achei 1 erro, que o "(the pistol one) put her" devia ser "(the pistol one) puts her" por conta de umas esquisitice de gramática.
While I do miss her gun stances, I think it’s fine in strive considering it already has a high skill floor gun character (HC does take more effort to learn but once you do, isn’t too hard of a character to manage and play). And I also like the 2 different properties of her projectiles.
I haven't played XRD that much but I have a few hundred hours in Strive and man her design is absolutely amazing for me. I love the whole death metal thing going on and gameplay-wise I love her. Definitely my new main.
I think her older design was more iconic and unique personally. I don’t mind a change in design, I expect that but, I kind of wish they kept more elements of her old design. Like her bunny ears and a bigger, more exaggerated choker. She just looks like a completely different character imo.
It's all personal preference obviously but I think she looks way better. Strive in general feels it's casual friday and everyone (other than Baiken, the spoil sport) dressed down in the office, so I think it fits better than sexualized bunny bride would have.
@@theshinwhisperer8279 well that is definitely just a difference in taste lol. I just personally always loved how ridiculous and bizarre some of the GG designs were before Vs the more casual looks now. Thats just how GG was built up and it’s what I grew to love. With Elphelt, I don’t dislike the design, I just wish it was more unique and reminiscent of her other design. Ram, I-No, and Anji did a good job with that. Changed things up without leaving too much behind.
@@theshinwhisperer8279 The Bunny Bride looks like a generic waifu IMO. The cute death metal girl may be a little trite and overdone but her redesign is way better than the original thirst trap she was
Personally I think she is my second favorite dlc character to play so far (with asuka being number one). She is pretty easy to learn but fun as heck to improve at. Just today i labbed like, 2 different wall to wall combos with her just because i found it fun. If you were wondering btw c.S > 2H > 214S > 2K > 236D (uncharged) > 2S > 2H > 214S > P rekka > H rekka > rrc (forward) > c.S > 2S > 2H > 214K wallsplat > 5D (charged) (6H works too) The other one is Counter hit 2H > 214K > c.S > 2S > 2H > 214S > P rekka > H rekka > rrc (forward) > c.S > 2S > 2H > 214K wallsplat > 5D (charged) (6H works too) In the second one i did c.S > 2S on block before the counter hit, dont know if that matters but i thought ill mention it
While I’m sure the community will figure out some insane stuff that’ll need to be toned down a bit so far she’s a massive improvement “fun to fight” wise from her previous counterpart Even if I don’t like her visual design as much
I miss the fps mechanics like reloading with back and forward and the grenade but I do love her redesign so it’s not a deal breaker day 1 really enjoying her
i like her a lot!!!!! back in 2016 when i bought guilty gear rev she was the one character i care about, them Leo, Baiken, Sin, but she was my first contact with the franchise, i was just start playing fighting games at that time and i had a ton of fun with her. I can understand why people that played that game competitive may not like her, but im very happy she is back, in fact i dont play strike in more than a year, and im considering going back just because of her
She looks fun, makes me want to get back into GGS. I'm still struggling in SF6 because of input issues and inputs not coming out which I don't have in any other fighting game I've played.
Once again they did a great job of taking an older character that was so far only iterated on once and gave them a character arc that moves them in a very positive direction for the character while incorporating what the character used to be. Both her visual redesign and her moving from a sort of very constrained "bride archetype" who is only able to talk about marriage, to metal idol with more of a personality and expression is just 10/10, top notch, and fits much better into GG and the roster as a whole. And her gameplay is so fun with the flip and the Noel-inspired freeform gun rekkas. DLC characters continue being bangers.
The grenade is roughly +16 on knockdown if you do an empty landing, so I do a low-starter combo like 2K, 2D, 214HS in the corner and reset, that way 2HS with its 18 frame startup becomes a large counter frame trap launch with 90% proration that can combo into basically any wall break path. For when your opponent likes mashing on recovery.
They really knocked it out of the park with her design. Still the best dressed young lady in fighting games, a very balanced zoner with an actual kit, nice long distance 6H, crazy corner pressure with lollipop chain (you better start praying lol). Looooove her winning pose James Brown split (lol) and then fry scream. And she's definitely a great response to Crappy Chaos. Bravo honestly.
I don't really see any zoning in her kit. I'm pretty bummed about it. She uses her guns to basically mix you up, not keep you out. It's cool, I'm definitely gonna try her, but she isn't really zoning
@@pkphantomdid you miss the full screen homing projectile she has? She still benefits more from getting in and mixing you but she can definitely still zone you
As someone whose entry to the series was through Strive, I fully empathize with people who dislike the new Elphelt. I know she was popular and a lot of people liked the wedding motif and her unique gameplay with her different guns. I for one don't like her new design that much, but I do appreciate her more simple gameplay. I'm enjoying the character gameplay wise and the neon skins help to pretty up the design for me. Edit: Just realized JM's name on Strive is "KrillinIRL." Absolute legend.
as a legacy player the new design is dope tbh, wish she still had her whole marriage obsession quirk but ik its subjective, fuck her regardless but at least she doesnt have pineberry unblockables and im glad new players can pick up the game, ny gripe is just that rn shes a bit too easy, having a whopping 2 moves, one of which being a full screen homing projectile lol
To be fair if they know the lore it make sense. First she was gona marry to a metal rock musician before the Xrd story happen, and second she is Daisuke waifu ( and quite a lot of JP/ KR player waifu since she even top the most wanted character won again even Dizzy)
@@illgeteverythingback She does. She goes around with marriage certificates trying to trick people into signing it under the pretense that it's a contract to join her fan club.
Also on any air hit 214S you can stop and get another close slash from what i can tell: c.S>2S>2H>214S,c.S>2H>214S->K->H if wall splat 6H after H rekka
As shes the sole reason I bought strive I can say I might miss xrd Elphelt a Little cause I loved bringing the salt I love the way she plays in strive I can't wait to fine ways to bring the salt back.
I think she was hated because she was ranged, but now we have Happy Chaos, so she won't be hated like back then. P.S. I like her redesign, but without her hat it looks like something is missing. Maybe it's better for her current metal-idol style, but I miss her hat
Nah, Elphelt was never really ranged. She just had her every option being extremely good which includes more range. The pineberry grenade and shotgun pressure was insane.
@@hmad898 well yeah i hope he corrects it becuase people are gonna think you can keep the rekka going which you cant is not a true combo to do kick follow up into slash follow up.
I actually miss the reloading the shotgun in combos. It made the shotgun so much cooler, and combos more unique when I played her. But I understand and I am glad that she doesn't have that crazy stance because the hate would have been too much. She is a lot of fun overall.
I have to mod her outfit out of the game into something else because it makes me ACT UP. I don't know what it is about it, but it hits me so damn hard I literally can't play.
Hm with the moveset changes is it really still her? I do appreciate the new design and moves but as a sucker for stance characters (and guns) it kinda is a shame but if she was hated fair enough!
that noel style rekka spam is just way too strong, being a slow character when she gets you in the corner you can just pray for not dying from chip before managing to squeeze a 2p somewhere, feels almost like release HC.
From my day one experience. 6P shuts down alot of her pressure If you can predict when elphelt is reseting her rekka, you can just 6P it to get out You can also 6P her 214H if you think its coming out. Its not full proof but its much better than trying to mash a fast button. Also, if you character has a dp, you can do that too. Her rekka followups dont frame trap unless the elphelt times them, which I found alot more difficult on her than someone like chipp or ram. Her 214K is unsafe on block at close range so dont be afraid to go for a punish. At worst its -8 on block. As for her overhead and low rekkas. You just have to guess those from what i saw, though if elphelt doesn't reset she is minus so go for a punish if you see her doing a finisher rekka. Hope this helped!
@@BlackHero20 thanks I'll try that, with it being around 4th hour of playing and being nagoriyuki on top of that it just felt hyper broken. Like, I can totally smoke some of the first day players if I'm running a gio or brisket but totally get blocked in the corner with my main if I don't have meter or don't win on roundstart.
@@CHNO-kk4rl The limited mobility of the big bodies just kinda naturally makes it harder for them to deal with her. She is a rushdown character with a focus on pressure. Most of the big bodies struggle if they dont get an opening with those. Wish i could give you some advice but im awful with nago lmao. It might be a good idea to try and stuff her approches with your 5K, 2S and 2H and retaliate with your own pressure (nago's advantage is incredible).
@@BlackHero20 so far my only strategy was to hit her with the reversal super or to mash out with 2p, once you hit her she falls apart like a wet napkin before you even get to the opposite wall.
