@@fireemblemistrash75 it's a great gun. Probably 2000 rds through it without a single misfire, failure to eject or, failure to feed. Coming from a 1911, the safety placement might take you some getting used to but, that's the only downside I could see.
Who can forget that classic scene in Mission Impossible 3 where IMF Agent Nathan Hunt gives his wife Julia an emergency crash-course on Beretta 92FS operating procedures.
According to IMFDB the 92 carried by Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis in LW 1 and DH 1 respectively, is in fact the same prop pistol. It does make a cameo in Live Free or die hard, one of the random henchmen BW fights in a stairwell is carrying that prop gun.
You’re actually wrong about the Beretta 92fs being used in the first 4 Die Hard Films. In Live Free or Die Hard (Die Hard 4) is the first film where John McClane actually uses a Sig Sauer p220R(45ACP). He uses this as is side armor til about midway where he loses it after ramming Mai(Thomas Gabriel’s girlfriend) into the elevator. For the rest of movie McClane uses a Berreta px4 Storm that he takes from one of the henchmen.
@@PrepperAction The Beretta 92FS does appear in "Live Free or Die Hard," but not in McClane's hand - only in the hands of a BG. The gun used in that scene is actually the same one from "Die Hard 2" - the armorer was the same guy on both films and threw in the Beretta as an Easter Egg.
Fun fact, it's implied Trinity used an m9/92fs in the material but because of her hand's size, they had to opt for the beretta 84, which is a small frame double stack 380. You can see this easily by comparing slide release design and the frame mounted safety shown as opposed to the slide mounted safety of the m9/92 in the iconic"dodge this" still
John McClane uses the Beretta 92F, not the 92FS, that has been modified with a larger slide release, and was converted for left hand use. The same gun (like, the same piece of equipment) was used in Lethal weapon a year earlier by Riggs, and at the time it was unmodified. The differences between the 92F and 92FS are virtually non existent, apart from the fact that the 92F could launch it's upper half in your face. This is why the 92FS appears to have two slide rails one above the other on the frame and the slide, one normally sized and one smaller.
He only uses the 92F in the first film. All subsequent entries featured the 92FS. "Die Hard 2" features an Italian (Pietro Beretta-marked) 92FS that was originally purchased by Cinema Weaponry for "Lethal Weapon 2" in 1989.
Like you said, used by Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield in Resident Evil videogame series, standard sidearm of the STARS operatives. They had a special custom model, the Samurai Edge.
I bought a Beretta92FS back in 98 when I turned 21 then switched to a Glock19 in 09 & then bought another Beretta92FS in 2022 but this time I won't get rid of it.
how could you leave out, well, any film by John Woo.....that man loves the Berretta almost as much as he loves Doves flying everywhere during shoot outs. "I feel the Beretta is a great character," -"It's so strong and elegant. The other guns look dumb to me." Jon Woo once said in an interview
The most iconic Beretta 92fs in my opinion is used in a timeless anime which is a direct tribute to John Woo according to many critics. Spike purchases it from a friend and uses it in the epic church scene in Cowboy Bebop alongside his Jericho 941 R.
The finger step? How's the guard intended to be used? I thought it was purely stylistic. I owned a gen 1 cheetah with round trigger guard. Just bought an m9a1 compact tho.
@@dick8997 most M92fs ( and similar designed Berettas like the cheeta) trigger guards have checkering for those old school shooters who use a recoil control technique involving wrapping their index finger from the support hand around the front of the guard. thats why most older models also rounded the trigger guard inwards slightly.
I bought the gun just two weeks ago. I liked the looks and now watching this video I’m super happy that I did pop on it. Can’t wait to tell my friends now.
I would have thought the Glock 40 S&W would show up more, especially in the hands of criminals which usually out number the good guys. But the most iconic hand gun in any series or movie is the Jericho 941 chambered for 9mm used by Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop).
Ahh...the Beretta 92 FS...yep, alot of the old timers carry those these days...just messing with ya brother...ive owned two of them .great gun, just lighter in weight choices that are just as dependable...great choice for you though..I haven't commented in quite a while, felt it was due...take care brother..
The Beretta Wasn't used by McClane in All 4 Die Hard Films, Only 3 of them and the 5th one was for a few seconds at a Range. Not counting the fact that he used a 92F (there's a difference) and didn't use a 92FS until Die Hard 2
Well done on making a video. More than i do but if you are going to do it, please research. In the comments you've already noted that many times you've gotten things wrong. So on a note of the 93R. it is not full automatic. It is select fire but as far as semi-auto and 3 round bursts. Not full auto fire like the G18 does.
There’s no doubt that some of my favorite action movies featured this classic sidearm! I just recently bought myself a Beretta 92 and it is without a doubt one of the greatest 9mm pistols ever made🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
the 1st scene in the diner in the movie Natural born killers Woody Harrelson has the beretta 93 but only shoots it semi auto and mostly uses his knife.
I have a Beretta 92fs. One of the best handguns I've ever purchased. I'm contemplating picking up more. I have a bunch of 1911s as well. You could say I have an addiction problem hahaha 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Probably because his character is NYPD and their pistol selection is either Glock or SIG Sauer, Beretta was never authorized for NYPD service and was commonly used in Hollywood movies before it went Glock and more.
Actually, the Beretta 92F/92FS used in the Die Hard movies is not used by John McClane (for some reason) in the last two Die Hard movies (Live Free Or Die Hard & A Good Day To Die Hard).
You said Bruce Willis used the Beretta 92 in all 4 Die Hard films (although there are 5), but showed clips from 'Live Free or Die Hard', where he didn't use a Beretta. He used a Sig Sauer P220, I'm quite sure.
i only have one issue with this video and thats that the clips from Die Hard 4 have McClane having switched to a Sig P220 from the Beretta. so its the SIg thats featured on screen in that part of your video.
That Underworld scene was stolen from Nemesis. Also people seem to forget that Robert Urich had the Beretta 92 in Spenser for Hire before Martin Riggs John McLane Chow Yun Fat in A better Tomorrow.
A Chinese movie called Lethal Panther the main character uses a Beretta M9, 92F, or 92FS as her side arm for the whole movie except during the war scenes. Larenzo Llamas uses the pistol in Snake Eater. Richard Norton use it in one of his movies. Guaranteed on Delivery the main character uses on as a Security guard. So many action movies with the pistol.
Bruce Willis didn’t use a Beretta in the 4th die hard. 😂 He changed to a sig sauer P220 and you can tell just from the scenes you showed from it in your video.
Sunstroke with Jane Seymour killing the insane man at the end with the Cops Beretta Inox. Only two firearms in that movie save the best pistol for last the inox. The Rock 1996 Beretta 92FS, 92SB, Inox, and Centurion Inox. Man On Fire 1987 Beretta 92SB-C, Double Deception 2001 Beretta 92 Inox. Jet Li The One, Zero Tolerance 1994, and Dusk Til Dawn 2 Robert Patrick uses one, Leon The Professional, Demolition Man, Under Siege and my other Steven Segal films, Rapid Fire 1992, Rage and Honor 1992, Hero and Terror, Tequila Sunrise, Colors 1988, Who That Girl, and tons of other films. Snake Eater II Larenzo Llamas.
It's funny. Most films besides Lethal Weapon that did use the Beretta 92 never really "showcased" the gun. You'd need to be looking for what kind of gun the character used. They never mention the brand/model nor do you see the gun long enough as they are always moving. What better way to market any product than a movie. Especially one that does well. Lethal Weapon-Beretta 92. Bond- Walther PPK (and his Aston Martin car). ..though Bond did at one time use a Beretta too (so wrong...as was when he drove a BMW...Brosnan's Bond film..somethings you never change).
I like your work and passion for the gun, but the Beretta was not Bruce Willis's side arm in Live free or die hard, it was a Sig not sure what model but chambered in 45.acp. And the first die hard movie was not a Beretta 92fs I pretty sure it was a Beretta 90s
