A great collection! And the guy in the video had the opportunity to build up his collection at a time when you could pick up things cheap. Nowadays the internet has made stores much more savvy about prices meaning that there generally aren't the hidden gems waiting to be uncovered anymore. You can get lucky once in a while but overall the golden age of record shopping is long gone.

What a legend. Lots of "Woah!" moments as he was pulling stuff out. Seeing his original copy of Please, Please Me definitely made an impression, as it made me realize how he experienced the very rapid development of rock in real time. Not often you see a copy of Julian's Treatment - A Time Before This!

I love collecting vinyls, im 50,,sex pistols huge collection, bootlegs the works, and i collect adam ant as well, got about lots of other vinyls as well many artists, and genres. I feel vinyls are such nice things to have, i love gigs as well going to see adam ant live soon.

When i started collecting records in the late 60s early 70s there were very many Vertigo swirls on the racks going for pennies, after hearing some of them they went straight back to the shop! The best Vertigo records then were by Black Sabbath, Status Quo, May Blitz, Uriah Heep and Colosseum but many others were not to my liking as Vertigo was an "experimental" label, Charisma and Harvest were my favourite labels at the time.

Obviously a nice guy and always cool to hear from the guys of an age who've been doing it since day one. I know a few similar type chaps and love hearing their stories of getting 'insert rarity' for 50p back in the day. Steven wasn't looking for or collecting rare records back in the day. He was looking for records he'd never seen before and taking a punt on them. It just transpires those records are now collectable and musically great in a lot of cases. Jake, you need to check out Mighty Baby, especially their 1st lp....killer record. Please buy the book Galactic Ramble and learn about the UK psych, prog, rock, folk rarities. Cheers Nige

I’m not totally sure but I got the impression it wasn’t actually a Budgie record but rather something put out by an ex-member? Correct me if I’m wrong though. Edit: Just checked and yes, the band and album are both Tredegar.
