How does your room deal with players going “north” between hands? Does the money play during the hand if it’s brought up mid hand, or something else?
@MikeLeeSr
@MikeLeeSr 11 месяцев назад
Most dealers don't even pay attention. It usually gets fixed after another player says something. It rarely gets to the point that the chips over the cap come in to play in one hand. It's a 1/3 with a 1500 cap.

Bart I got one for you, one time i was sitting in seat 9 at a 1/3 game at a local casino in NC. I looked down at my cards and see 2 red Jack's, so i raised it to 20 but when I did this the dealer grabbed my cards and mucked them. Obviously this was my fault for not protecting my whole cards in the bad seat(s), and the hand would normally continue for everyone else with a free 20$ donation from me. I told the dealer it was my mistake and there was no hard feelings but this is where it gets weird. The dealer insisted on calling the floor over to handle it, and when the floorman gets to the table, our dealer tells him that he mistakenly mucked my cards after I bet but he was positive which 2 cards in the muck were mine. The floorman tells him he can grab the 2 cards without looking at them from the muck qnd give them to me, and if I said they were the same I could play the hand. 😮 well, I get back 1 black jack and 1 red jack 😂 and obviously I play the hand. (Might be a bit dishonest but we are all poker players for a reason, right?) I end up taking the pot down before the river and won like 60$ from the strangest situation I've been inso far. Even stranger, not a single person on my table had any sort of problem with what just happened😂

@Josh-sq3nq

The ruling at most places I play at, there is a cap unless you came from another table that was the same blinds/buy in. Lets say you have $500 in chips you won ($300 cap) in 1/3 game, if you go to another 1/3 table the cap doesn’t matter. But if you were at a larger table (2/5, 5/10 etc) then try to bring those chips to a smaller buying table, the cap applies and you can only buy in for the cap. Edit: also racks are not allowed on table for more than one full rotation or it voids the bad beat should it hit during this time.

I've been a poker dealer at my casino for nearly a decade, in my experience it's entirely dependent on which supervisor comes to make the ruling and how they are feeling that day. If i'm dealing I do what I can to be on the side of someone that I think is getting free rolled like this. I would have given as much information as possible to the floor and kind of lean into the fact that the player with AK was getting unfairly screwed over. Also if you are dealing a 1/3 game you should know where 100% of all black chips are at all times..

I have been a reg at one eyed jacks for about 5 years… I will make sure a manager sees this video. Playing devils advocate he may have been continuously adding on with the black chips. Just from experience at 1-3 at this location there is pretty much a zero tolerance for someone buying in above the cap. (They can change the game if everyone agrees). It’s also a rule that you can only play 2 hands with chips in the rack.

The dealer runs the game. He needs to get the ruling before the pot is pushed. All management decisions r final. Keep in mind poker players often miss key details of the story. It is common for casinos to have unqualified floors. Poker rooms r usually more consistent. However, an out of town player could get screwed from bias towards a regular. This can be intentional or unintentional.

So basically at this poker room you can buy in for $500 and play from a $500 stack an entire orbit. And then at any random time you are allowed to take half your stack and put it on the arm rest and only play from a $250 stack. Then next hand add it back and play from a $500 stack. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but based on this ruling you can take chips off or add randomly in between hands where no one ever really knows your stack???

Poker rooms don't really have consistent rulings, at least not anymore. I've had older people telling me how the rules were so clear cut back in the day and the floor was really strict. @@danielmeuler2877 Wow. Yeah I play mostly at different Station Casinos in Las Vegas and they're pretty horrible, but the games tend to be really soft so that's why I go. I actually got banned from one of their rooms just for questioning the floor person on why they always forget to put my name on the list when I call in, and I think I kind of embarrassed them about it because there were some other players around. The next time I went there, I put my name on the list with the same floor person, waited about 30 mins, and then as soon as I got a seat, the floor person and some guy pretending to be a security guard comes up to me and ushers me away from the table, and they tell me that multiple people complained that I smelled bad. lol like I literally just sat down, and if it was some complaint that was made earlier, why did you wait for me to sit down to tell me? They literally saw me waiting for half an hour and said nothing. Obviously a bunch of nonsense. So I play at one of their other locations but they also have very loose rulings on stuff. Basically the staff think that they're gods and no one should dare question them, which I've just kind of accepted because it's my living for now.

The villain (everyone else folded) flashed one card saying "take it down, I only made trips", and mucked the rest. We're talking thrown deep into the muck under all the other discards. The lady next to him says, no you had a full house, then fishes "his other 3 cards" out of the muck, one of which matched the board,. Then SHE called the floor. I stupidly stopped raking in the chips, thinking what a waste of time, especially. with the posted rules in plain sight, with rule #1 = "all mucked hands are dead." Ruling - '"Well if he had a boat, and was in for all bets, that beats a straight, so he wins". Foolishly, I kept playing on huge tilt.

Honesty is honesty, and the Villain here is not honest! Plain & simple, the Villain said it was fine to count the chips that were on the rail which on the face of it is honesty at it's finest. However, when the floor comes in and says to refund the villain $285 because those chips were on the rail, not on the felt, I as the honest villain, am going to state NO, emphatically NO! I don't want the chips, it was a fair hand, and you guys made the wrong decision. The villain here is not honest, and potentially cheating! There should be a rule, if the chips are visible to the dealer, they are fair game. Putting chips on the rail, or armrest of the table should not invalidate them from play! 👍😎✌🗽 P.S. Personally, I would have taken this to management, and asked for a refund as the ruling was wrong!

Are there’s no cameras in this casino?? It’s as simple as checking the camera. If there’s a gaming commission in this state you played. Go to gaming commission. Something sounds completely off. The 6-7 other players would easily chime in and say it was in play. Something does NOT add up here. I think the person telling his side of the story might not have all his ducks in a row. No cameras to check the tape? Floor leaves without knowing all sides of the story. The moment the floor knew the black chips were in play in previous hands, should automatically mean its in play this hand. Like nothing is adding up here. WHy is it ever allowed to keep any chips on the table that are not in play. Extra chips should NEVER EVER be on the table for reasons such as this.
@HighXRoller
@HighXRoller 11 месяцев назад
Also, the floor should never ever just walk away if you still have a valid gripe about how the ruling was. The guy should have talked to the floor immediately after to find out why he could play those chips in previous hands, but it doesn’t count now. THe fact the guy doesn’t even continue stand up for himself to me, means he maybe knew those chips shouldn’t have been in play. Which is why he wanted to give back 30 bucks over the 500 and just move the game along. So with all this info provided, I think the dude knew the 200 wasn’t in play, and that he’s only half telling the truth. Theres just so much to this story that makes no sense.

i just realized i got a story not very good but im going to tell it cuz it was fked up , prob alot more common, i was playin in a cash game got it all in vs a guy who was friends with dealer, coin flip ak vs qq , i ask if he wants to run it twice he says yea, dealer hears us we agree and he does first run out, i miss my ak draw, dealer pushes pot to him and says u cant run it twice here, didnt mention anything before hand while we were discussing it, call floor over they agree, i pick up rest of my stack and walk out.

This is a ridiculous story. If this guy was betting the black chips and taking down pots in other hands with them, how could the dealer or other players that lost those pots not mention that to the floor? I'm not saying this guy's story is not true. I'm just saying the outcome of this story should have never happened, and if I was this guy I never would have given the chips back and I would have called him out and the dealer based on him playing with those black chips in other pots and scooping pots up with them.

Hero did not confirm amount in play. The floor decision was fair. You can only bring in table max when changing from higher limit to lower limit. Sucks, but it’s your fault for not asking the right questions before the hand was played out. Had hero lost the hand, he would also only pay villain $245.

OP sees weird shit going on, at no point asks the dealer what's going on, and then is surprised when a ruling is made against him. This is 100% on you, OP. Ask the dealer what's in play. You're a big boy.
