As an idea for a challenge run that would be fun to watch: smuggle a Breath of Eros (the well item that heals for 1 instance of damage) all the way to phase 2 chronos, and see if it works on his insta-kill attack (for science of course). Bonus points if you have low health through tartarus and see if it actually just completely refills your health

They might be scared of making hex focused builds too strong because once you have a hex, paths of stars are straightforward upgrades with no rng related to picking which boons you happen to roll from gods

Hey man. Actually you can see the Path of Stars ahead of time. At least on PC. After i open the boon list I can highlight the curse with a mouse, then press 'I' to display the Path of Stars. I guess the consoles should have something like that. It looks like since patch 3 it requires being out of combat. Also, you can dash when channeling a self centered omega cast without breaking the channeling.

Another build that I personally love is Aspect of Mel with Aphro attack boon aaand… nothing more, you can also can pick arctic ring so you kinda stunlock enemies.

For a durable xbox controller I can recommend the gamesir g7 SE (the white one with Hall Effect sticks). I've used it heavily for over a year and the sticks are still perfect-my last couple controllers developed stick drift in under 6 months each. Drift is always what kills my conches so I'm really pleased with this thing.

someone already said this in another video, so idk how useful this is, but, if you're planning on using the phial but accidentally use the fountain before changing keepsakes, you can just quit and load back, the fountain will be unused for you to use the phial and I always try kb&m first when I play a new game to see how it feels then try with a controller, then stick to whichever feels like the gameplay is more fluid

I play MKB in every game, and love it for everything. That includes both hades games, fromsoft games, monster hunter, etc.

If you hover over the ability when you get path pf stars and press "i" (I think X on controller?) you can view the path without getting a second selene boon.

My “knives all pointed at you” take is that Swift Runner shouldn’t have been changed from the first version. People were way too quick to complain about the default dash just because it felt different than Hades 1’s dash and it really felt lame to see the devs immediately change it to placate them Also I’ve taken a god keepsake into Tartarus too - Demeter for the last water element to get Frosty Veneer

You can check your hexes info to see the path before seeing any path of stars

The _el Día de Muertos_ feel to Aspect of Mom's design is very classy.

I play m&kb. It's how I learned hades 1 and I find it even easier in hades 2 because I think mel's cast is more suited to the q key than zag's special (I had rebound zag special to Mouse 3 in hades 1 because I found q so awkward for it)

To answer your control preference, pre pc I loved using controller and at the very start of using pc I still used controller a fair bit but getting used to Mouse and keyboard caused me to prefer it for everything I play, like all the roguelikes even spiritfall and hades. even for the controversial choice of using mouse and keyboard for souls games

Should chaos magick cost reductions be magic refunds instead (like the staff powershot) to accommodate hexes? On the one hand it doesn't negatively affect hexes, but on the other hand, it does mean if you have 10 magic left for a thing that costs 20 magic, 50% magic refund will not help you in that scenario, but 50% cost reduction would. Also things that affect your costs to go up (blood line, hestia omega special, demeter omega attack buff, giga cleaver) can add up and youd want cost reduction there moreso than magic refund for that exact reason.

Wait what? Hexes can have different path of stars? I thought that a certain hex will always have the same upgrades.

I think I'm running one of the most hipster setups out there, but the PS5 controller on Linux has worked very well for me. Complete plug&play. Besides, it has the nice touch of illuminating the LED bar of the controller according to each god.

I use a PS4 controller, but with dash rebound to L1 (left trigger). It makes dash-strikes so much easier than the default binding.

lunar ray works great with hestia attack boon it can stack 4000-10000 scorch in one go and make it explode with demeter duo

i play a lot of fighting games so i’ve been playing hades with a stick/hitbox and it does feel pretty intuitive

I played Hades I with M&K and now I want to start speedrunning so I have to switch to Controller but I'm too used to M&B-

Brave Face + Dodge from Echo and Hermes would make you kinda OP

don't give the devs ideas for nerfing aspect of persephone cause idk how they would nerf it without it feeling horrible

I need to try this build, I’ve mostly really just done speedrun sort of builds so I have way more runs on medea than Persephone and mel

I can't tell for sure, but based on the numbers, it looked like triple beam was doing damage to Cerby with all 3 beams. Edit: Oh yeah, it was doing x3 on that miniboss in Tartarus

Hey just to lyk if you go to the path of stars and look at it you can pull up the menu to see ahead of time what you get. On pc you have to press I while looking at it idk about console but it should be the same

Mouse and keyboard for everything but souls games, I use the xbox elite v2 for those which has been durable enough for me for a few years now but I have heard different from a few people

I play with a ps3 controller that’s at least 13 years old 😂 But it still works perfectly fine and I was able to set it up with some extra tools. I do get an “unsupported controller” message at the start of hades 2 but it works completely fine, no issues at all!

Is Demeter good for the cast instead of Zeus? Freezing and getting the AoE seems good to me.

has anyone tried moros with zeus' spesh and hera's attack? stumbled upon it yesterday while keepsakes grinding and just want to make sure its as good as i remember it. no fear and i went to every reward chamber in tartarus tho bc well keepsakes grinding. i rmb the blitz did 57k

Someone please recommend me durable controllers? Hades 1 already broke 2 xbox controllers of mine. I am scared to play Hades 2 too much and break another one...
