i really appreciate that you took the time to explain the hideout part and how simple it is to craft my own ammo instead of wasting my time buying on flea/traders. I went from only using the saiga12 and adars last wipe to majority SMGs this time around, and it's totally because of you hahaha. I'm excited to give the mp9 a try!!

As someone who has never obtained lvl 10 before a wipe, these videos are super informative. My biggest issue is having a reliable supply of weapons and gear fear. Thank you for making these videos as they will definitely help with that, and will help with gear fear because I won't be so concerned with losing weapons I now know are a little easier to come by. Keep on keep on, man.

It is a very viable alternative for the Vector 9mm. It is not low-level friendly because of the 30rnd mag and suppressor, but considering AP6.3 is also unlocked in peacekeeper LL3, you should be progressed that much if you want to use either gun effectively anyways.

My favourite weapons by far are smgs. And literally days before I saw this video I started experimenting with the mp9-n. And I genuinly think the big issue is the horizontal recoil. While you can full auto people with a pp-19 or mp5SD at up to 50 meters or so. The mp9 is a lot more clunky. However, as a dorms weapon for cqc, it’s stupidly powerful. And I am happy to see others also appreciate it.

The MP9 is definitely underrated and great value. The biggest issue for me is not the recoil (if you can't control 49 recoil there's no hope for you) but the small mags. At 1100rpm 30 rounds disappears in a second.

I've been broke in Tarkov lately and have been stuck using super budget AK builds so 50 vertical recoil for that price sounds like a dream come true

The weak spot is the magazines. They are 25k+ The smallest (15 rnd) is available from Peacekeeper if you've levelled him. Your 1/5th the price statement should be evaluated in terms of total cost. The base gun might be 1/5th, but if the other parts are not, the overall cost of walking out the door with one weapon vs the other is not... and I think that's the important number.... the cost (loss when you die) of the whole weapon/kit.

I'm blessed in the way that I can work from home. I buy SMG ammo early every reset. So my ammo case looks like yours :D full of AP 6.3

The issue is indeed ammo. 9x19mm, 4.6x30mm, 5.7x28mm all of the rounds in those calibers which are at least decent (30 pen or above) are all about 1k or more on the flea. That's 30k per mag. At those firerates, you'll want at least 3 mags and an extra stack I would think, so we're talking 140k in ammo alone. At that point, any price advantage the base gun might have is irrelevant. When you can get 9x39mm SP-5 for 230 and sp-6 for 610 (lol) which also just have the same or better stats than the best SMG rounds it doesn't seem like much of a competition anyway. Sure the VAL/VSS recoil got nerfed but it seems a lot more budget efficient. Crafting can change the story. But most of the flea prices are based on the crafting costs, yes? I don't think there's much high end SMG ammo actually looted in raids. The MP7 is a bit of an exception, FMJ SX looks pretty viable and is 'only' 1k, that's close enough to the VSS ammo that even though SP-6 is cheaper and better in every way, the MP7s advantages over the VSS/VAL platform can be worth the price difference. Where the SMGs really shine, imo, is WITH the shit ammo, going purely for the face or legs. As the wipe progresses faces will be less viable due to more shields but legs always remains a decent option. Once you need to pay >1k per round, it doesn't seem worth it to me, when you can get better or similar rifle ammo for less (m80, 7.62BP, 5.45BT, M856A1 kinda). That is, for budget oriented builds. Some of these weapons ARE just pretty dam good as a whole, MP7 probably most of all, but it's no longer about price at that point.

This gun is why I don't feel so bad losing in a fight vs when I lose with a Vector. The 20 extra bullets in the 50 round mags adds up and it hurts my soul.

I wish I was able to use some of these guns... lol litterally the hardest game to figure out IMO, you either pick it up or get destroyed. It would be cool if you could do a video for people trying to get into the game and maybe explain some of the main components to having a successful raid, how to learn what stuff does and even how to listen to sounds correctly. The only thing the MP9 got going for itself is the RPM, but because of the high recoil using 7n31 is like shooting a AS Val without a stock with SP-5 bullets, everyone looked at it and said: nope, MPX SD/ MP5 SD is the better budget option. not overlooked at all.

the problem with SMGs is that you pay 2k for a round that can pen lvl4 armor and put it in a gun that fires at 1000 rpm. That's 33k rub/sec. I guess the AP 6.3 is also ok, but even then you're paying 1-1.2k rub for a round which has less pen than 5.45x39 BT which goes for 250-300 rub. Its pen is on par with the 5.45 PP which basically free on the flea market. Edit: even if you're crafting the ammo, it's still about half the price, which is still way too much.

Man I love the feel & sound suppressed 9mm Para makes, but I feel unless its 7n31, I feel its kind of hard to down people with anything other than head shots. Even 6.3 feels kind of under-powered at this midgame stage of the wipe. Sometimes you have no choice but to get into CQC and spray at center of mass, and I feel even with the fast fire rate, most moderately geared pmcs can tank quite a few 9mm bullets to the chest. Wonder what people think of 9mm using any smg other than the Vector.

your forgetting the drum mags for the vector are cheap and load quickly but mp9 is for sure slept on

I thought this video would be about the MP7A2. Its what im looking to switch to because 9x19 ammunition is too expensive now. There is nothing budget about an SMG that costs 1600 rubles per shot! With the MP7A2 its $2.2 a shot for FMJ which has a pen of 40 which makes it cheap to run. The only problem im still trying to get over is the MP7 has pretty serious recoil for an SMG.

Since it came out I been saying the mp9 is one of the best value guns in the game, prefer it over the vector just bcause the vector isnt worth the price compare to the mp9. If it had a drum it would be the best smg in the game running 9mm imo. Even with ammo sold out just run rip and watch the chads cry as you leg them in 2 seconds.

25 round mags now 30k, no offers for b&t adapter or suppressor on flea. Hopefully things will be different in about a week.

You can put the side rail on an MP9. Mechanic 2 sells it.

Magazines availablty, capacity and prices make MP9 incredibly unappealing option. If they lowered prices on mags, removed or drastically increased the limit per restock then maybe it would see more use... and that’s a big maybe... Besides in practice it performs worse than your average MP5 which is a laser pointer that doesn’t fizzle out past 20m... Vector is as strong as it is not because of it’s stupid fire rate but because of how controllable it is. That and 50rnd mags. There’s a reason why barely anyone uses MP5K - has considerable recoil and is uncontrollable anywhere beyond point blank.

Its overlooked because the mags are expensive and high level required

Once u get Peace LL3, the mp9-n should be your go to super cheap smg

Quick tip: can't get 30 rounds mags? Just buy mp9s woth the mag still in them for 5k cheaper than the actual price of the mag itself on the flea

20 recoil difference with vector and 30 mags...yeah same gun. MP7 is pretty much the same but with stronger ammo and a 40 mags.

I used to run the mp9n with 7n31 last wipe. Nowadays 7n31 prices are way too much for me to run it consistently. Now I use it as a sniper backup. I even mastered the gun.

Might not specifically use the weapon you recommended, but the ammo and mag tips were helpful. I'm bad at the game but I like to hoard scav knives for that MP5 trade lol.

As strange as it is, one of my favorite setups to run is a Vepr Hunter and an MP9-N as my secondary with an optic on it. Still hasn't failed me

There's a huge issue with trying to kill Chad's with 9mm and budget. Sure, 7n31 is a solid ammo but for being 2k per round and having to burrrrrr it.... Not budget lol. Hell even 3.6 ap 9mm isn't budget either and won't work quite as well vs Chad's.

Overlooked I pick these up on people all the time lvl 30-45s just no armor running these ....I do not understand why no armor tho like.....the price for one kitted is like a kitted pp19 so idk confuses me I always go in kitted when I have my kitted pp19 🤷🏻‍♂️

I get people are trying to find new chad slayers on a budget buts lets be honest. Spending 80k right now for the mp7 compared to 100k for a base vector with 20 less recoil might as well buy the vector. the rubles you save arent worth the extra recoil. The vector has budget silencers as well. I think you can get one for 15-20k rubles, although not the best suppressor its still only going to cost you 130k. That being said allot of people doing mid tier adars and m4's easily spend 200k just to get down to 50 recoil. might as well just run a mp5sd 60k rubles suppressed ready to go. A actually overlooked gun is the good ol mpx with 41 round mags. They go for 10k from peacekeeper so you dont break the bank spending 50k per mag for 50 rounders

If you take out the "only operational" tag, it can be cheaper

I haven't used the MP9 since the camera recoil decrease, but the recoil on that things rediculous. No comparison to the Vector.
