I can't tell you how many times I cried to this song in 1984, after the loss of my first love when I was 16 because the song described how strongly I felt about my 1st love. I was in love with her from a distance for a year before I worked up the courage to call her and ask her for a date. 40 years later, I'm still in love with her and think about her every day. The song isn't about a man falling in love with a blind woman, its about someone falling in love with someone that doesn't yet know they exist. It's love from afar. Its about obsession.

Who out there has never loved someone from afar??? Crushed hard on someone who you knew had no idea you existed??? Or so you thought? Or maybe they never loved you back....so what? It is ridiculous that so many want to turn a normal human experience into something evil or suspect.
