1:11 Discord sound, also this game STILL looks terrible. When is EA going to get off their butts and do something. I saved 1k to buy skins on this game and it's sad to see how bad it looks! Dislike and Subscribing! :(
I love when players make the smallest spot feel enormous when you just slow the pace down and plan your lines out, most mission areas in Skate are pretty cool spots to skate, but finding your own small hidden spots and truly exploring the map is so rewarding
I think that's one of the biggest issues with Skate. Alot of the most played or popular areas are high speed areas. What I think Session and Skater XL have done well is slowed everything down so it all feels deliberate and it gives the tricks and lines more weight and feel
@@kevindellatore that’s why I think they are best skate games in terms of realism. Skate will good. But it will never deliver what skater xl does in terms of mechanics
thats why skate 2 wS so amazing. the map was packed with hidden spots and you could explore it for ever. i really hope they take lots of inspiration from skate 2s map
I know its pre pre whatever alpha, main thing that would sell the realism for me would be an animation of the skaters knees bending on any impact, not just big drops, jumping down a 5 stair and your knees dont even move lmao
One thing that needs tweaking is how stance changes are animated and when. 2:06 highlights how robotic rolling away fakie looks, as it adopts a set stance before repositioning. If I were a dev, I would insist on differentiation between the stances (switch being slightly less open/natural) and better tracking of the stance shift in rotations (shoulders, proper line of sight).
Even when this game doesnt have its textures and complicated structure designs. The game itself looks gorgeous, I would say that this game would be amazing to play with (much better then skate 3 which I do like but got bored of it) hope this game takes it time and comes out (if EA doesnt ruin it)
I think something that would help is when you land fakie that your character isn’t still looking backwards when they land. Have the character either looking at their board or facing forward (where they’re landing) would be a subtle yet very help realistic touch
I hope they add better sound FX for the board rolling for the finished version, I mean rolling sounds pretting much the same on any type of flooring if its concrete, tiles or a smooth manual pad. Would love it if they made it more complex for realism like they have in Skater XL or Session
Bro is the game signature, all of skate revolves around flick it system, maybe they will add it but i really dont think they will use something of the competition.
@@chromz234 if it was just xl then fair but both xl and session use it so I'd say it's fair game to have in skate 4, the mechanic doesn't 'belong' to anyone, it's not trademarked. I'm not saying replace the flick it system, just add another option
I think a good improvement for realism is to work on a mechanic where you have to prepare for a trick , like more realistic bending of the knees , that the foot position after landing matters if you want to do another trick rigth away , because honestly that part is way too similar to previous skate games , and those details would add so much more to the game for me at least , that i play so i can land tricks i would never ever even try to do ahahahha
I would love some variance in animations for individual tricks. Like be able to select from a list of kickflip animations for my guy. Or even have multiples and set it to shuffle through at random. It seems like the physics are just about tight enough as is and I imagine they’ll only get better. Good animations is going to go a long way. Session looks incredible animation wise, it’s just the game is too hard. I uploaded a 13 trick line that took dozens of hours, I won’t be doing that again.
Not too optimistic about this game, I know it's pre alpha but after playing modded XL I'm seeing things that do not spark joy. I can't help but suspect this is closer to the final product than one may think.
the build in the video is nearly a year old (Sept 2021) and i highly doubt we'll get the game before fall 2023.. still plenty of time especially considering how large their resources are compared to XL
All you people who are saying this are just coping and trying to stick on to the trash piles of heap called “Skater Xl” and “Session” lmao keep pretending like this game ain’t backed by a multi million dollar corporation and gonna look like this on final release, you people are gonna look so stupid when it comes out does amazing.
Quick question I have the game and I been playing when am use my controller I have to use my keyboard to move and if I use my left joystick it opens the marker menu
Imagine if they added in different animations for tricks like how 2K does with shot animations… the lines and combos could be endless and provide so many different skate styles
@2:26: We should ask to the EA skate staff to make a realistic wall ollie it would be great to see that trick in the game as well as doing it on steep rail!!!!
I haven’t played skate 3 in forever played skaterxl recently and I’m not really sure how this game looks any better than 3 (I know it’s pre pre pre) but what’s so magic about this Personally I want game like Tony hawks underground a good story but with great controls I think that’s market that needs to be filled as there are now two skating simulators xl and session
I want to sss someone do a half pipe session Sometime in skate 2 and 3 I would go on small mini pipes and do blunt stalls and grands disasters all that , hope they haven’t ruined that part of the game
I want to know if footplants are in skate4 I didn' saw anyone doing them... anyway I won't play the game because I don't have a pc but I wanted too know jajaja
Man I really hope they aren’t just re releasing the Skate 1/2 map, that’d be very very lazy of them. However the map in 3 was the worst thing ever, so I don’t want that either.
My problem with the SKATE games has always been their sense of speed. One push is way too fast, almost like there is no pacing. This makes it a bit harder to do lines since you always gotta be hit the brake button before attempting to grind obstacles etc. Watching the replays is even worse since you can see how terribly fast the speed looks.
Has there been any talk about having pro skaters in the game ? Would be cool to see all of the new guys and the old guys . EA should do motion capture for pro skaters to get there style . Similar to how NBA 2k has different shooting forms . But we all that’s asking too much from that dogshit company
