Lol it’s my favourite when people complain about people being slow when you’re literally playing a strategy game. I bet red is the kind of guy who NEEDS to get to the red light before everyone else haha
@@Cristie452 I’ll disagree here, I think it’s completely fine having 1 min per turn, especially since it’s ranked. People take their time to think / make trades which can be time consuming, so you should be ready for that. In my experience I’ve never seen anyone time stall and I’ve played over 300ish ranked games on colonist, as far as I’m concerned if you want a fast paced Catan game go play unranked
@@catanblunders5113 Ya sorry but it happens a ton. I stopped playing ranked, because of all the time stalling. I totally agree that part of the game is strategy, but if it takes over an hour for the game to be played through online then that's way too much. Considering that vf games are like 20 minutes max. I also understand that everyone has different experiences, but that is mine and IK a lot of people on reddit and discord have conveyed the same thing.
@@G88CUBER It happens a ton. I find it very hard to believe that this guy has played 300 games ranked and none of them are time stalling. If you have someone sitting there for 45 seconds every turn to then just discard a 3 for 1, which pushes the timer back even more, thats time stalling.
i actually played a game with red and bc i took road from him he was spamming knights on me even tho i was only on 5 with no dev cards meanwhile the other two were on 8
Red was toxic.. I will make sure I play super slow next time i will play with him. Glad he lost when they had such a high prob of winning. Dylan how tf you manage to win out of all these situations is beyond me.. Crazy AF.
Love the videos and love the upload schedule. Hope they keep coming! Please save the gg music for after your roll so it doesn't ruin the suspense for whether you're going to hit
iti 1 second ago the music doesnt indicate a win every time. there are times where the music queues and then the record rips and its a fail. as long as there are enough fake outs to balance it out its fine.
I think Catan brings that out because winning inevitably requires a degree of manipulation (at least in a competitive environment) so it sucks to know you got played especially if you can't just blame the dice. (i don't jus mean table talk, I mean with pacing, trades, etc)
What in the actual fuck was black doing using a monopoly for brick? He 4:1 port traded it all for one settlement?? This was instead of targeting red and orange for ore when he isn't on any ore himself. If I was in that game I would've become the toxic player because of that play. That was bordering on intentional/targeting for no reason. The only reason for him to do this was to connect and take road, which he did not do.
What toxic players(I am talking about all toxic players) need to understand is that catan is a competitive game and people play this game to enjoy their moment. No one is entitled to disturb anyone's enjoyment and everyone should understand that people will try to block, plow and prevent each other from winning. If you are not comfortable with that, you should stick to cooperative games. I even see people not wanting to do trades bc they were blocked several times by the offerer. This is contrary to the game's nature.
Hi Dylan. Just wanted to say that Adderall is made up of amphetamine salts, NOT methamphetamine. Don't confuse those. Meth is a lot more potent, longer lasting, addictive and damaging to the grey matter in the brain, while Adderall at therapeutic doses taken to treat ADHD is not.
I drink a lot of coffee, and I try to have weeks where I just completely avoid it. I wonder if adderall could benefit from similar things? Anyways, I like your mission statements!
Played my first game of Catan last weekend. These videos intrigued me, but to be frank, there are just WAAAY too many actions going on for me to keep up at all with what is going on.
The 3411 5910 is a solid idea and the sheep is very tradable. Dylan setup could had worked better if he cut black like he said he would for the road play but mono 2vp works well too :P
@@awesomeaggron5236 Yeah, it worked in the end though (outside of getting robbed to death) I think the ore setup with the port would have been a run away win. But, every game is different. It was fun to watch.
@@dan_lev I think its much more playable than what Dylan picked however no setup is a garuntred win. The right table can balance the game to give themselves a fair chance. Through proper trade leveraging. Dice can dictate games too of course.
@@awesomeaggron5236 players who don't trade are so weird. I used to be like that because I thought trading was always bad but I just hadn't worked out how to trade well
Red had a point though. Players that keep offering the same trade when it's obvious that nobody wants to take I are really annoying. And time stalling is a thing unfortunately.
Hey! Love the vid and the thought process you put into this game. Although I do understand red’s perspective for being mad, a lot of people just have a few minutes to get a game in and it’s kinda annoying when an opponent always runs down the clock, hopefully you can get to decision making faster in future to honour everyone’s times.
If you only have a few minutes maybe don't queue up for a game? The game can naturally go for a while depending on the board and how it's placed, so don't put that pressure on yourself and others.
Its fucking Catan, no one has "just a few minutes" to play. If someone wants a faster game, they can make their own lobby with a lower clock. Dont encourage Reds ass-hole behavior
seriously? if you doing it for fun, you don't care how much time it takes. And if you have to leave the game before it's done, who cares? the real problem is people running down the clock on accepting trades, forcing you to not finish your turn in time and making you 7-out. I feel like Colonist should implement a trade-specific timer
Any particular reason that you have settled at 3 wood instead of extending and going 38? Was it because it was near the end of the game and 2 cards were more useful to you?
