Nice video but imo its annoying that you fiddle around with the inner tube (no offense though)

Haha I was trying something new. Thanks for the feedback.

I thought the inner tubes were going to lead to some big “ah ha” moment in the end 😂 I was impressed with the multi-taking 😂

And a butyl one at that!!! Terrible, especially when talking about cheap gains ... 😆

I love it. I’m a fiddler too and I thought it added relatability

Just to change things up, I liked the tube "fiddling". It's inspired me to go and tidy my inner tubes. Nice video. Very helpful - thanks!

Bonus tip: have the right material (no not the most expensive). Have had people screaming behind me and an other guy for going trough a corner too fast (they had a crash!). I tested the same tires in training the guys had that crashed and I knew why, those were terrible tires in the corners. Have material you feel confident on to race.

Agreed, plus definitely no butyl inner tubes ... About cornering, and to add to your tip: Some people are very fit doing hard Zwift sessions all winter and long rides mostly straight and relaxed all season and then panic in the first fast turn. Work on your bike handling skills so they match your power! If you have to close a ten metre gap after every turn, you're not going smoothly and not going to win the race, mate. I would do the embarrassing thing and test gear/improve my skills on the supermarket parking lot on Sundays. Do I care when people snigger? Not anymore. But I'll be prepared on race day.

All the things that everyone learned when riding their first kiddy bicycle, only fiddling with an inner tube, with no purpose whatsoever. So useful...

Well played, I do this myself but its all about timing and positioning...💪🏾

It's physics. Momentum is momentum. There is no such thing as "cheap" momentum. Just smart riding.

Everything was going well until you put the tube in the plastic bag! There was still air in it!

4:50 You can most definitely shift up (big ring) and shift down (smaller cogs) at the same time. Modern drivetrains easily handle this well (because of the ramps on the chainrings) and it is very smooth if you shift with your foot at the bottom of the pedal stroke or when there's no load on the chain. Just activate the brifter at the same time.

The playing with the tube and other stuff had driven me crazy. Nevertheless, nice tips. However, not everyone was very new to me.

No offence mate but being on the brakes that far into a corner isn't good practice. Trail braking on a road bicycle is not as advantageous as people think. There is no suspension to steepen the head angle to allow tighter turning which is part of the point of trail braking on motorbikes. Dragging a little rear brake is useful for tightening up a turn if your entry speed is too high, but if your entry speed was too high you've screwed your exit speed regardless so working on corner entry to allow for a quicker exit should be your ultimate goal.

Ditto. Stop the fiddling and get on with the topic.

Your dumb comment is more distracting than the fiddling with the inner tube IMO
