I would love to visit all of the countries because they're all beautiful in their own ways. However, if I could choose one, it would be Canada because the country is a neighbor of the U. S., which is where I live. I also like cold countries with calming landscapes and forests.

When I get the chance, I wish to take a combo trip back to France and with my first time to England.

Well because i'm a hungarian i would go to Finland, Estonia and Poland.

If we don't have a vaccination 'till March 2021 we will have to reopen. The workforce is mostly less than 60 years old. So we could isolate the rest and reopen like Sweden did.

Sweden learned some lessons, but they did so without a first lockdown... or a second lockdown because the first didn't work. While most of the continent panics with worsening results, Sweden seems to be done.

That's the best place to be. Even if you end up in a tourist country don't visit the touristy places make your own path as safely as possible though. ❤️

That's an interesting question but you have to distinguish four categories : - (active) temples, churches, mosques etc. Those sites are generaly free to visit and are sometimes the recipients of very large pilgrimages (ex. Mecca, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Saint Peter, temples in Bangkok...) - theme parks (Dysnelands for instance) who often have huge numbers of paying visitors though they are not monuments per se. - historical paying sites and monuments (museums could be included here, even when free). - historical free sites

Then we should also consider Eurasia as one continent.

Knowing that the definition of tourist does not take into account the purpose of the trip, only the distance and time. So the figures are correct and representative

I think europeans visiting other european countries aren't included either: because of the Schengen-area you can just cross most of the borders where and whenever you want, you don't need visa or sth. like that. So there are probably even higher numbers when you look at the continent.

That's a good point! In China's case, the spending being so high probably has to do with their large population and thus the large number of tourists they represent. While maybe other countries spend more per tourist.

What the fuck, europe is not "small" distance between Rome and madrid is 2000km and even if thats "small" for you, that is not a reason for so many ppl to come. Europe is beautifull and iconic with its old styled cities. In asia you can see just m9dern skyscrapers and in america you can see new york and LA, myb Hawaii if you have money. Europe is diferent than other continents specialy cuz of its culture and historycal sites.

Some european countries are really small but other are quite large (in fact larger than Thailand) : France is 1000 km across North-South and East-West and larger than Thailand in area (only accounting metropolitan France), Spain is barely smaller and has nearly the same area as Thailand...

nah, i think its the distance that makes Brazil rank so low if it were just violence, Mexico for example wouldn't be in that list (I believe that the high number of tourists is due to the proximity to the US)

I'm Brazilian and I can assure u that is pretty safe to travel here. These ppl are full of stereotypes, like" robbery and cartel" lol. That's very rude btw, every country has its problems and that one is not even a Brazilian thing. But don't worry it's not your fault, it is the Brazilian media's. They're always talking about Rio and the favelas, they make it sound like it's the best the country has to offer, when in fact it's the worst ! Because of that, some ppl think that Brazil is limited to Rio. Anyway, just so u know, Brazil is the 5th biggest country in the world, a country full of nature, beautiful beaches, forests, dunes, even a "desert", mountais, cities as big as New York and London, one of the most preserved countries in the world. And I could go on and on to describe my beautiful country... In some regions we have cities with the same GDP and safety as Europeans cities and countries, such as Switerzerland and Norway. It's expensive to travel here, but if you're willing to spend some money you're gonna have a great time here . Some ppl go to the other countries, like Argentina and Chile cause of the language, it's cheaper and the distance. You can visit a lot of countries in one travel, but most ppl in Brazil live in the coast, so It's a continental distance, that's why it's not worth to go to Brazil whilst traveling through the other South American countries. That doesn't mean they're not as "dangerous" as Brazil, cause they are.... They just don't have that same bad reputation as Brazil.

In this list Brazil is even behind some african countries. Just because you can live in your country/region rather unharmed, doesn't mean a tourist can walk around without a care. If a tourist has money to visit a country, criminals will see them & think they can get some of it. There are also other factors to be considered like mosquito transmited diseases. To visit Brazil tourists HAVE to inform themselves very well, something you don't necessarily have to do while visiting european countries. Brazil beeing the 5th biggest country doesn't mean anything and it's economy and GDP (PPP) per capita is comparable to Albania rather than Switzerland or Norway. But you don't seem to care, as long as there are - a few - regions which are relatively well off, while the rest suffers in poverty. Also "most preserved countries"... yes... with the amazon rainforest shrinking more and more while the indigenous people get treated like shit (It's 2020 already)! Many people take a plane to go to Portugal, so they are registered in this system. A tourist stays a week, two maybe three. So with a season of 35 weeks, a hotel room will handle about 20 tourists. Never Portugal has 10 m inhabitants AND 25 m tourists at once, in average 1 to 1,5 m tourists on 10 m inhabitants. Portugal does not have many tourists that come over for one or two days. In contrast the Belgian and Dutch coast receive 3 million Germans at once for a short bake on the beach in a weekend when the 1st of May is on a Monday or Friday, or with Easter and Pentecost. But they are nowhere registered in this system, because they do not fly there.

@@dutchman7623 Portugal also receives a lot of Spanish tourists on the so-called "bridges" and on holidays, but they aren't registed too. But yeah, there are not that many Spaniards on the border regions than there are Germans in the border with Belgium or the Netherlands.
