This is very good insight. I'm not depressed like she is but long ago I discovered that feeling and reality are separate and that one can isolate the two and not let feelings dominate. It's like the thrill of a roller coaster. You feel like you are going to die - but you know it's safe. I rode it till I could do it without having almost any physical reaction at all.

Think differently. As she says. Perhaps it is actually one of the most important ways to help yourself if you have depressive tendencies. Because yes, we inherit something genetically. But we do not inherit genetically to overthink, to be critical of ourselves and to deny our feelings. We learn that along the way. And that in itself can make you quite depressed. But Lone Frank, with her colored glasses, prefers to primarily see depression based on genes. Or perhaps it is more correct to say that she does not particularly emphasize the importance of environmental influences on depression.

Interesting. However I presume it would be very hard for people with depression to be your better self as it requires a lot of your energy, determination and intellectuel capacity to move yourself. This is even hard for ordinary people living ordinary lives!

yes. she never described the amount of effort and work involved to pull it off and how it just takes one stressor that is out of your control to cause it to all come crashing down

hey, world science festival! thanks for this video. i really enjoyed it. i am looking at my own biology right now and thrilled to hear the university of Koben Havns is having a research project on that. do you have any idea how i can get in touch with a specific person there for possible tests?
