Everyone who doesn't just ditch everything and goes full MP43 and FG42 is clinically insane. There isn't a point in other guns once you unlock literal assault rifles.
MP43 is pretty good. I have had a few Teams with late game Thompsons do pretty good taking buildings from the German teams though. I think MP43 is better as it fills about any role you need it to.
@@Oppen1945 The imbalance has less to do with the guns themselves, and instead the amount available in matches imo. There should not be matches where there are more Stg 44/MP 43s than Thompsons. Base troops should start with M1 Garands as well. The current setup feels wrong because the Allies in Enlisted don't have enough of these two weapons, which, whilst not being as good as the MP43, greatly outnumbered it. That said, the lack of recoil definitely feels wrong, but I don't know much about the gun's functionality irl.
Many high level people are complaining about the Mp43 making the game not fair. Meanwhile, me who has the highest campaign level on USA, Lvl 15: *crying cat with the thumbs up*
The Mkb in Moscow is the most insane thing to happen in this game in terms of balance, you can run 3 squads with 3 Mkb's each. Its an MP-43 that faces bolt actions 70% of the time. It has a scope with very low magnification so you can use it in close ranges and it has clean iron sights too.
German guns are fun and those MPs, MKbs and STGs were top notch back in the days. Should they nerf those guns to be something they never were? I think its just realistic and well done by the developers. But they could do it even more realistic by making eg. Sten Guns the trash they were in real life: they always jammed, rarely worked how supposed to.
Also I think FG 42s are still deadlier if used right. Only thing worse about them is the low ammo nerf. Always use FGs with low recoil, big ammo pouch and full auto even on high distances. 2 Shot burst kills at any distance. MP 43 and MKb need 3-5 shots.
The G43 with the ammo conversion is insane too, went on a 70 kill game with one squad with it. Put it on an engineer and kept resupplying. He died and I picked it back up with nearly 2 full mags on a radio operator.

Yes MP 43 and MKb 42 are very strong, but FG 42 is still deadlier, if used right. 2 shot bursts kill at any distance with the FG, while MP 43 and MKb need 3-5 shots.

They have wrong fire rate per minute. MP-43/1 have 500rpm and in Enlisted they have 680rpm. Its too high. Other model STG-44 have 540rpm. And they have 30 ammo cartridge, but in real soldiers were ordered to load no more than 25 rounds to reduce wear of the spring. So this is reason why is so powerful this gun in game. And its no number MP43/1 limit in squads.
@@TheDAWinz you need to pay if you want to fill your squads now as there's not enough silvers in F2P to fill squads. Im pretty new and taking out academy before I had a chance to start getting troops really screwed me hard before I got the battlepass, and even now with the battlepass and premium it's not possible for me to fill my squads in 1 campaign let alone 8 campaigns without putting in more money which is a definite no from me. This is the same in terms of the silvers for weapons if you are targeting a specific good weapon like this. This game is the definition of pay to win right now. I got premium and the battlepass because I saw a lot of potential, it was such a good game, but now I regret my stupid decision. I don't see this changing but I guess we'll find out if the devs care about this games longevity.
@@ihateusernamesgrrr Lol they're definitely going to add more silvers, the academy system was horrible. The new system is fine it's just the lack of silvers, but what determines your gameplay is most of the time down to your own skill. You can get 200 or more kills with the basic bolt action squads, its just pay to level up faster. Quite literally, the only thing you need to do to win, is hold W.
@@TheDAWinz That's a little disingenuous. Understanding map design and mechanics helps more than anything. If pressing W won games, bots would auto-terminate invasion matches by virtue of being effective W-pressers. What wins games is approaching objectives with some sense of tactics, forethought, and luck.
It really really bothers me that they have the rock out mags on reload that's not how the stgs/MP43s mag release works it is not an AK. Also you should check out "forgotten weapons" channel even if your not a huge gun person it's really cool to learn about the guns you use in video games.
Not enough. I say this as a max-level Axis player who prefers to use his stash of three-starred Kar 98k's rather than the 14 FG-42s I had. Actually went and broke down most of them to level up a second FG-42 to max and a third to one star short of max.
But…..you can have plenty of fun without it. I just finished that same map playing Axis on defense (Level 19 ATM) 178 kills and knocked out 9 tanks playing only infantry….But yeah it was a 36 minute game and I lost 18 squads. And….I now I feel like taking a nap.
Only thing I can think of to compete in pure damage output is a hip-fired M2 indoors or the same for the M1 Thompson variant if you have the increased rate of fire upgrade. Overall though good god, I'd never actually seen that gun in action, didn't realize how stupid good it was. That long with the new panther just made the case, as much as I hate the idea of starting from level 2 again, I'm gonna have to level Axis normandy now. Random note but have you played with the AT rifles since the recent update? Played my first game of Moscow last night since the Tunisia campaign came out and holy SHIT they dont suck now! They are legitimate options! Killed one tank with a single shot to the ammo and broke another's engine with two hip-fire shots at point-blank then det packed it with ease since it couldn't move. Could have shot the ammo but figured why hang around when it cant run from the det pack? Oh and some shit that has made it a new requirement of mine to run an auto-capture (i think it will auto-cap 10 seconds previous when I turn it on) from now on. I asked an allied plane being chased down to fly over me since he was fucked anyhow (bomber being chased by a fighter) and he DID and I managed to shoot the right wing off a JU87 in a single AT rifle shot. They really beefed them up. Don't know if that was possible before, and honestly, I was aiming for engine so it was a lucky-miss-hit but it sure felt like it was a hell of a lot stronger than before. The same pen, they just seem to have it carrying over more damage AFTER the pen so you dont have to shoot ammo 5+ times in a row to blow a tank. Might actually give my Tunisia AT riflemen another chance.
ussr to the time when operation barbarossa started was also considered as axis power, it joined allies not founded them after they got their ass kicked by wehrmacht. this campain is in normandy, ussr didnt join the landing becouse they had bigger troubles and allies didnt bought any ppsh/ppds becouse of the huge minuses these weapons had. So there is no place for ppsh
the best way to balance the axis assault rifle would be to simply lower the recoil on the tokarev, you dont need full auto rifles to compete with the stg, etc, you just need more realistic recoil on the tokarev. yes this changes game dynamics, but in real life, things were not always equal and balanced, the axis at times had the upper hand and the allies at times had the upper hand.
For the Normandy campaign they could also fix the M1, M2 and M2A1 Carbines. They still have more recoil than the FG42. And I know that the FG42 has a straight line configuration and a very effective muzzle brake, but the M1, M2 and M2A1 shoot the .30 Carbine round, which is not full power but intermediate, and still pretty weak for an intermediate round.
@@olekzajac5948 yeah the recoil on what is literally a rifle shooting a pistol round is pretty ridiculous. they need to lower the recoil on them. that would be a better fix probably as they are more common than the bar.
Yes, the FG is even stronger. 2 shot bursts always kill, but it has higher recoil and was nerfed ammo-wise, so you re always low on ammo. FGs are pretty much like BARs, but the latter get way more ammo and are Machine Gunners only. Seems fair to me.
@@giorgiom.3833 The fg42 are not anymore machine gun è only, and with the large ammo ouch you get 80 rounds. For a i need this radioman armed is a more than good gun.
Germans have the most OP tanks to. The American tier 2 is open top, less armor, both gunner's are exposed and get picked off, while the German tank is closed, they get to keep one gunner inside and MORE ARMOR! Both has the SAME firepower. Its the same with the tier 3 as well. Its a joke at this point to play anything else other than German.
Saldy not the same firepower, a Panzer iv can't pen front armor of a Jumbo, just the MG, now the jumbo can pen the turret of the Panzer and kill one by one the crew, even a stuart can pen the turret of a Panzer iv, its funny when you hide behind a bush or something like that and the Panzer don't even know where to shoot, but anyway not the same firepower... Now the Panther is a bit of a problem to the Jumbo, but is like 1m of exp of difference so...
Giving the US something of equal value will probably amount to a massive explosion buff for their aircraft since that's what the US was all about, that wouldn't be very interesting either.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Been feeling kinda insane when I'm killed from long distances with this thing, as I've not used it yet. I understand that historically it was a superior weapon, but I hope they find an affective way to balance it out with the opposition.
Can I ask why it should be balanced? By your own words it is superior, and by all my knowledge it was made for that purpose. Rate of fire mag cap and accuracy were its key design points over the Kar...
@@stephenmcmahon190 I've actually stated in other comments that for me, balancing is not as simple as nerfing the effectiveness of the weapon. Instead, I think the weapon should be limited to one/two per squad, or smt along those lines. Either that, or the Allies should have greater access to Thompsons or M1 Garands. My reasoning for this is that only 1/2 million StG 44s were produced by 1945, compared to the Thompsons 1.5 million, and Garands 4 million, and M1 Carbines 6 million. As such, the imbalance is that most Allied players are stuck with Grease Guns and Springfields. My proposed solution would allow more units to use the Thompson, and would make either the M1 Garand or M1 Carbine the standard infantry rifle, to better reflect the historical prevelance of those weapons on the Normandy campaign. The idea that there are more MP 43s than Thompsons is not only imbalanced, but completely historically inaccurate, let alone the 1903 being the standard military rifle, despite only being used for marksman roles in WW2. Edit: The general point here is that the German and American armies had two different approaches to arms development during WW2. The Nazis were far more oriented towards automatic and suppressive weaponry, such as the MG42. However, whilst these weapons were more effective, they were far more expensive and difficult to produce. Hence, if you want to have these weapons outperform the opposition (as I believe they should), you also have to maintain the scarcity of these weapons on the same principal. The average German MG squad were primarily armed with Kar98Ks, because you only needed one MG42 to keep the squad effective. This should be maintained. As for the MP43, the other solution is to limit the weapon to specific squads, and to stop letting premium replay the same squad immediately. I'm all for historical accuracy, but it works both ways. You want powerful German weapons? Then every Allied GI should start with an M1.
11 months later and it's still the best weapon in the Normandy campaign, though I'm sure we'll be seeing full squads of Stg44s running around soon after the newest campaign levels. Meanwhile I'm still trying to grind through both sides and I'm stuck on level 22. I'm too cheap and prideful to buy premium but the grind is so painful -_-
In reality rhe StG44 was rifle, that everyone can use. Assaulters, infantry man, engineers and even snipers, but the scope of the StG44 was wiggly and the rifle itself hasn't this fire range. Second, the StG has slower rate of fire and last, in the Moscow campaign only snipers can use it and you can't get rid of the scope, but still nice 👍
I thought only Germany complained how the allies used shotgun or how the Allies complained about German Flammenwerfer in WWI.. oops different era lol!. Serious note: MP43/STG44 has the same ROF as AK47, ~500-600 rpm.
So, I know this weapon was just simply OP irl, but I do think you can balance the situation without a hard nerf (adjust the recoil though, it seems silly even for an assault rifle). Just briefly looking it up, it seems that roughly 1/2 million StG 44s were produced before the end of WW2 (and the invasion of Normandy took place nearly a year before that). In comparison, over 1.5 million Thompson SMGs were produced before the Allied victory. As such, I think the best way to balance the problem is simply to lower the requirement for Thompsons, so that the Americans at least have superior suppressive and close quarters firepower. This could be done by lowering the rank (which I think should've been done long ago anyway), but I also think it should be made available to more types of troops. Not base infantry, but radio operators could definitely have them imo, and I'd be open to other roles gaining access to them if it didn't swing things too far in the other direction. The Nazis did lose after all, and the StG 44 was notoriously known for being "too little, too late", emphasis on 'too little' there. Same can be said of the FG42, so maybe another thing to do is limit the amount per squad or something for Axis players. There's probably some British firearms that could compete, idk tbh, but it'd be worth considering...
Additionally, I think they should scrap the Springfield 1903, and make the M1 Garand the default infantry weapon. Over 5 million were produced, so the idea that they're not in abundance is, again, a silly mistake. I garuntee that the balance issue would improve if this change was made, and it'd be historically accurate as well. Just looked it up, and even more M1 Carbines were produced, so perhaps make that the default after unlocking the Trooper II squad or smt.
@@legiox3719 then the game would be unbalanced in Allies favor. Solution: level 40 axis is die Glocke. If the axis lose a match, the match starts over so they can have a second chance to win.
The only difference between the stg 44 and Mkb 43 is nomenclature. Hitler hated the idea of assault rifles so during design the name was the mp43/mkb43 to avoid hitler noticing it wasnt another machine pistol until it was successful and renamed with its assault rifle designation.
The STG44 came too late in the war and in too small of numbers to make any real difference. In WWII, if you couldn't mass produce it, it didn't mean shit.
@@cynicalfox190 its hard when your factories are being bombed 24/7. Besides, warfare in general had evolved so much since WW1 that no infantry weapon was going to make a significant difference.
@@matthewwade1115 I understand I’m just pointing out they could mass produce it just as easily as any other rifle but it was too late in the war and their production was at an extreme low anyway that they couldn’t tool up enough factory’s to get it produced. It wasn’t a problem with the weapons production it was an issue with the limited production capability of the country, I wasn’t sure from your original comment but a lot of people seem to be under the impression that the STG 44 was a complicated, difficult gun to produce when it really wasn’t.
@@cynicalfox190 i know what your saying, I dont disagree with you. From a design standpoint, it was mostly stamped parts and was easy to produce, which is why its a common myth that the AK was a copy of its design, even though they have fundamental differences specifically in bolt design. I think it definitely inspired the AK design to some degree though
@@HeyQuadro Please stop saying things like this just because you think 1 gun is bit too good. Limiting your choice of squads in a game where you can only bring 3 infantry squads without buying more is objectively stupid. If anyone chooses to bring 3 assaulter squads they get what, 12 MP43s? Is it really worth not bringing a significant number of LMGs and sniper rifles, not being able to build more advanced engineer structures, use the quick radio calls or play as flametroopers/mortarman? We don't know what the higher campaign levels will bring for the allies side. Before introducing the Panther there was no counter to Jumbo, yet I've not seen so many clickbait titles like "JUMBO OP, PLS NERF" or "SHERMAN JUMBO IS PLAYING THE GAME ON EASY MODE". Is it really that unthinkable to have a pretty decent weapon unlocked at lvl 32, where most players will never even get? What would even be the point of grinding to the highest level if all you get is just another FNAB reskin?
If you are potato, no weapon will give you skill. I see dudes all around running Mp-43 but loosing entire squad in first minute not covering from air strike, shooting in open for sniper kills ect. So, it all depends on the player.
How many games a day to you play to get all those weapon/squad orders? Also, what do you think of the berlin campaign lately? I've been getting really high ranking matches with a lot of majors and generals on both sides, they've been so intense. What campaign would you say is the most fun? I tried tunisia but it feels like the germans have a lot of bots on their teams so it's not as fun as it could be.
This is a great video. But ... Meanwhile in Berlin? And the Jumbo's, P-47, PPSH, totally ridiculous Allied point capture times. Tunisia far is a joke as a "campaign". Unfortunately the game beyond its mistakes looks for a bit of realism, but then ... What is the fault of the Phanter or the MP-43 or the STG-42 of being weapons totally out of time and place in a conflict such as WW2? How to make something that is not logical logical? Equalize? Match what? War is not fair, like so many things in life. But also, how large is the percentage of Axis players who reach those levels? Like to really unbalance everything. Besides that an average player has at his disposal an MP-42 or a Phanter does not mean that he ends up being as bad as if he had a Puma and a Kar38, he simply put in the money or spent hours and hours. Having Berlin and Normandy at the maximum level I prefer the Gehwer 42 and the Mp-40 a thousand times to the FG-42 and the MP43, and the Panzer III N. Not because they are not broken, but because it is a little more fun, and to give them "the opportunity of a worthy fight", in addition to adapting to many strategic judgments. But we go. In the second war and in the battles raised in the campaigns, they were not "combats" they were massacres. The underlying problem for either of the 2 sides is always the same, the grinding system, the new players are left to a huge warning from the veteran players and not to mention that now with the many new console players it is impossible to play, Since a bot has more sense of how to defend a point or at least the bot does not leave the game constantly unless someone at lvl 25+ in the campaign leads them to victory. You can see kilometers that the allies are always benefited in each campaign, but obviously, as long as a Tiger or a Stg-42 does not appear, everything was going well. But by surprise appeared the Phanter and the Mp3, so that everything seems broken, but it is not. The problem is not that certain weapons or vehicles are "broken" but how to balance it, what is my fault if I am on the airfield with a Phanter and after 15 boring minutes I end up with more than 100 kills including half a dozen tanks, AT's and whatnot. cross my eyes? If a Jumbo does not flank me, he can only try to break my tracks, or that the other team has a player who knows how to use a plane and put a good bomb on me. But at least it is something, sometimes it is more important to disable or neutralize a certain advantage than just saying "it's broken". Because I am not going to use a Puma to make the allies happy. In the history of the company that develops this game and many others of the same theme, there was always an obvious favoritism to a certain side, however people continue to play and many spend their money. And the real underlying problems never changed. The option is other games with a more "serious" approach or simply "politically and historically correct" and be happy that an FG-42 is not a laser weapon or that with a Stuart it explodes a Tiger shooting directly at the Glacis. The vast majority of players on both sides do not seek balance, they simply want "equality", but what suits them. You can give more tank respawn points, or that the allies can have more rallies to be able to seek flank, that the same game has tutorials with basic strategy principles and not simply the how-know of aiming or throwing a grenade. I don't want to offend you or disrespect your opinion. The points you touch are correct, but you avoid the underlying problem. And we all know him deep down ... Friend in life nothing is fair. Why do we pretend that something that should entertain us is just that? In every area of life nothing is fair, less it will be in video games. In the latter, everything turns to money and consumption. The good and the bad are simply a point of view. PS: The Thompson is not that bad either, he should only be at level 16/17.
I agree with you, they should balance the game instead of removing "broken" stuff. Take for example the panther, it's not broken just because no allied tank can penetrate it from the front, and the pak42 can penetrate any ally tank (well, at least in war thunder the pak42 penetrates the jumbo if it's not angled), to balance it is very simple, just replace the m10 for a pershing with the 90mm cannon and decent armor, what do you think about that? What would be my fault to just play with my pershing in airfield and get 100 kills and destroy everything I see?
There was nothing comparable. In fact many say if Hitler had not banned the development of the STG44, the war may have gone very differently. Of course butlers tactics still sucked, but this weapon is literally having an AK in World War II while everyone else is still using bolt actions, semi auto full power high recoil rifles, and SMGs with no range to speak of. To put an infantry small arm rifle in the hands of allied forces to match it would be honestly historically inaccurate. However I can see that it would need to be done to balance the game.
How would the war turned out differently? The Germans still had shitty industrial capabilities and shitty logistics for the Military, not only that with every German weapon the allies had a counter towards for it either directly at the time or shortly after the introduction, you can build more rifles but if you don't have the resources or logistical support to bring those weapons to bare it's scrap metal.
1 bullet from any starting gun will kill you. Ive killed whole max level assault squads with just a bolt action and a grenade. Sure it is good, it better be for all that grind. We gonna talk about balance, we should talk about how you get 250bullets with a13 in Tunisia, while italians get 24.
@@HeyQuadro I didn't encounter it very often, but I've had battles with pps43 in berlin where I've mowed down 150+ enemies during the match. A good play makes all the difference.
