You need to remember that molotovs thrown on the engine compartment of a tank destroy its engine AND set it on fire, forcing at least one crew member to exit it and try to save the vehicle. "Mollies" are fairly consistent with their hitboxes and altough they take time, they're a good competitor for explosive packs in terms of AT combat
molotovs are indeed great, for blinding tanks too, as well as preventing access to a door/window, I find myself using them quite often, and they are definitely more reliable for vehicle kills than explosive packs it seems, they just take longer
Devs need to make the smoke rise higher than what it is I thought pushing up the beach on normandy with smokes was a good idea till I saw they dont cover shit rn they're only good for pushing level ground enemies
Molotovs usually work as an area-denial weapon, but not with me. I walk forward anyway. Enemies do not expect such a bold move and are usually taken by surprise as a I cross the flames. Soldiers lives are expendable anyway. I will not let anything stop me from reaching the objective.
The old Soviet method of attack and advance lol I’m partial to it aswell. “If you’re not willing to set yourself on fire when the need arises, you aren’t willing to win”
This was a very good informative video. I knew that explosion packs were nerfed but I never knew exactly how much and the damage drop off diagram was nice. It is a good thing they nerfed them cause I was basically equipping them on every soldier except for a few molotovs and WP. I really like using a mix of all the grenades now it is a good improvement even though I have way more explosive packs then anything now.
@@nightowl9519then they aren’t good tankers. I’ve played way too much as a tank main to know that Ivan with an IED is way more scary than a tiger2 or panther. And will avoid getting within 50 meters of enemy infantry at EVERY POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.
I love your attempt to get players to understand the difference between Cover and Concealment. I spent the better part of 32 years doing the same thing with Soldiers and Cadets. Sometimes they get it but for the most part, it takes a couple of practical blunders to sink the message home. Thank you for the advice about the grenades, WP IRL is better than all of the grenades for providing concealment and destroying equipment and personnel, and marking targets. Knowing that it is not that great in the game will have me change out my loadout.
Yeah its kind of shocking how hard of a concept it is that smoke doesnt just make you invincible. As for WP--Yeah, it used to be the best grenade but after a series of nerfs it really isnt that good anymore.
I find smoke grenades very useful, I equip them on almost all my engies with an explosion pack. They're great for setting up rallys or pushing into specific points, like some of the bunkers in Normandy or the pillbox in fortified district.
I was hoping someone would make a video about this, and it didnt disappoint! I had noticed that using only explosive packs like i had been for a long time did now seem less effective, and wondered if the frag grenades got buffed. It sure felt that way. But these Sekrit Documents were a huge help!
molotovs are no longer area denying tool, as you can just run through the fire. Before the nerf i had all my soldiers equipped with these, not anymore.
Fantastic video as usual! For a long time I was using the explosive pack and anti-personnel mine combo. But then they nerfed the explosive pack and the anti-personnel mine was really not that useful especially when you are playing as the attackers. I am currently using the frag grenade/molotov and TNT charge combo. This provides me with a lot of flexibility. Albeit some tanks like the Sherman and the Jumbo seem to be a little bugged in my opinion when it comes to the TNT charge.
Molotovs are also usable against vehicles.. not mentioned in video. It sets vehicle on fire and forces crew to get out for fire extinguishing or suffocate. White phosporous easily passes THROUGH walls, windows, barricades and even ceiling/floor. I died so many times being in room above affected area...
Grenade are a thing that should in many kits of soldiers example if you have an engineer squad I personally think that ammo bags are not really a good idea I invest in grenade bag and have 1 pack and a normal nade or 1 pack and 2 normal or a smoke for other reasons I’d say use the resources the game gives you yeah use guns and tanks and planes but things like TnT and nades should be looked very more carefully like how I can effect the battle or make sure and area is restricted or the idea of if they can’t see you they can’t shoot u Also it’s really good against any vehicles that have a open top like the first unlocks of tanks or that one small tank
Yeah.. the explosive pack. Yesterday, in the Berlin campaign, I found a group of Soviet AI's, around 8 of them packed together in a 5m radius. Cooked an explosive pack, threw it smack in the middle of the group, no time to run... One downed, zero dead. Zero. Dead.
Im always using molotov and explosive packs. and all soldier must have Anti personal mines can poop everywhere and get kills. good for def and attacks looking for enemys rally.
I hope they add smoke rifle grenades eventually. Would be great when smoke arty is on cooldown but you still need to blind the point! Edit: Speaking of rifle nades, do you know the stats of them? Specifically the regular rifle nades vs the AT ones in Stalingrad and Normandy?
Kinda disagree on Willy Pete tho. The stumble effect that happen when one pushing through Willy Pete smoke is a really powerful tool. It could potential win you an engagement with a weapon like M2 Carbine or Johnson LMG, while Molly could be sprinted over with almost no consequence thanks to universal 1.5 second delay.
