FILM DESCRIPTION:
Nick Morton is a soldier of fortune who plunders ancient sites for timeless artifacts and sells them to the highest bidder. When Nick and his partner come under attack in the Middle East, the ensuing battle accidentally unearths Ahmanet, a betrayed Egyptian princess who was entombed under the desert for thousands of years. The zero gravity scene took sixty-four takes and was shot for two days in a falling plane. Reportedly, a lot of the crew got nauseous during the scene and vomited, except for the main stars, Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis, who were really proud of the stunt.

I enjoyed this flick as well. I really don't understand all the hate. It isn't even a remake. It is its own movie with its own (and new) story line, characters, etc. That being said, here's a little fun fact: This movie was originally going to be another sequel in the Brendan Fraser franchise, with the O'Connell's in Latin America battling an Aztec mummy (whom was going to be played by Antonio Banderas).

I don't have any idea why the two soldiers didn't just disarm and restrain the zombie dude. How Cruise's character's body survived the crash AT ALL. Let alone in as good a state as it was, is a miracle. There's so much this movie could have explained better. So many bits that they got wrong. And with a scene as cool as this at THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE you'd expect better from the rest of it.

Finally watched this and I have to say, I feel a little bit robbed. This movie was way better than what a lot of people were saying. It was really fun and exciting. Nothing felt forced. It's really a shame it was considered a flop. Maybe if they had named it something else like... The Mummy Dark Universe, the marketing would have given a different first impression from it just being a remake of the Brendan Fraser version. There was a nod to it in the movie, but it stands on its own. It was a terribly underrated.

This film was probably within my top 20 to 30 favorite movies of all time, I might feel that way because I saw this movie before I saw the one with Brendan Fraser, so I wasn't really expecting anything watching it. To be honest with you the only thing I really didn't like was the dr. Jekyll mr. Hyde thing, I thought his transformation could have been a lot more over-the-top and dramatic, other than that I thought this movie was better than Mission Impossible Fallout as far as Cruise goes!

For a big-budget Summer movie starring Tom Cruise, The Mummy was pretty good. Not amazing, but solid and enjoyable. I don't know what people were expecting, really. If you take off your 90's kid nostalgia glasses, you'll see that even the Brendan Fraser version isn't perfect. The Karloff classic holds up, though.

Well I watched Brendan Fraser version right after this movie. And no. 1990's is still fun and enjoyable movie with great characters and actors. Special effects didn't hold up well, tho. This movie is still a piece of shit. It was boring, horrible written, horrible acted and just made no sence what so ever. It was painful to sit through.

This is one of my favorite scenes in this movie. Rolling around the plane while it was going down, grabbing a parachute, shooting a zombified guy a few times(last time by accident), poor guys had to have been soo nauseated and vomited and had headaches for a few days after filming this scene. In a way it actually looks like fun but i would rather have a chain on me while rolling around in that plane. Good movie though i would have loved more of the dark universe movies...
