It's amazing to the point of being scary that the Mayan women dance exactly the same as the Greek women dance in Hercules movies. This proves without a doubt they had contact with each other. They should highlight this on the next episode of Ancient Aliens!!!!!

How to screw up an already goofy film: Bring in Jerry Warren to "direct"! There were three "Aztec Mummy" films - only the last of which, "Robot vs The Aztec Mummy," was riffed on MST3K. And then Jerry Warren fixed that oversight by doing a holy f*ck to the first film as "Attack of the Mayan Mummy." Why Mayan instead of Aztec? Who knows?!
I ended up fast forwarding through all that, I couldn't take it anymore lol. But honestly, I love this channel and all the movies, I watch it all the time.
My Mummy was Mayan and I remember one day Rafael and Jerry telling her they could make a star of her. She never looked back. Promising start to an illustrious, yet very under-rated career. I miss you Mummy!

This movie again! I think I've stumbled on 2 other versions. And every one starts with a lengthy chat between the characters describing a great deal of back story.

What a script!!!! Duality, complete opposites, regression, a sister killed in a jet crash, a lengthy court case, a foundation. . . A nephew called Timmy, trance states, Mayan pyramids, gold treasures.
It’s amazing how badly Z-grade hack Jerry Warren ruined the first film in The Aztec Mummy series by sawing out huge chunks of footage and redubbing narration over what’s left and splicing in huge chunks of mind-numbing dialogue scenes and one incredibly excruciating teen dance scene. If you want to see the real version of this poor film, pick up the Aztec Mummy DVD box set from BCI.
New dance moves: 20:40 the hammer, make the motion of nailing up drywall with a hammer. 20:43: the lazy jump rope, rotate both arms forward in a lazy,half are attempt to mimic jump rope. 20:49 the backstroke, pass both arms backwards overhead as if backstroking from the capsized Titanic. 20:56 the waft, swing arms with palms open past your waist as if wafting a fart at someone.
The newspaper man seemed unrealistic, asking for all those pesky verifiable facts. 😉 Interesting film. A lot of talking and not enough mummy though, which is a shame as it was possibly the most realistic looking mummy portrayal in moviedom.
the mayan mummy come out of the yucatan swamp cool and slow w/ plenty of precision. he swung hips that were narrow and hard to master. some call him pasty faced in his resilience, others mean and rueful of the tijuana dream.

I like bad horror and SF movies but this one was so boring in pace and had such a lot of inane dialogue in place of action. Show us some action man. Of course, I mean the director which is not the fault of Cult Cinema Classics. :)
True to cue this movie, for billions of mummies-to-be are already among us. Who might they be? It's the vax-zombified ones, y'know. It will soon get very interesting.

bloody awful film. I scrolled over 3/4 of talking and talking blah blah blah before they show the mummy and even then it was nothing to brag about. Zzzzz.......snore....
I would rate this movie one star: a failure. Most of the time was men talking about archeology, pyramids, hypnosis, news media and other mundane garbage. The worst part is the ending: a sleepy man loses control of his car and kills the girl Ann Taylor and the Mayan mummy. This movie is junk: would not recommend a viewing to anyone,
