I share your feelings about him, but I have never seen anyone defending Pakistan as patriotically and logically as he has in front of international media. I think he was a true patriotic. May Allah give patience to his family to bear his loss.

Considering how the PML-N and PPP survived the coup and the fear of the actual decision-makers, where will this end up, especially given that two-thirds of the population have an extreme hatred for both the army and the PDM for the first time ever?

As a very common Pakistani, leading purely by feelings (how we felt during his era) I DO think the man was a bit of a legend. I do understand its undemocratic etc etc but please remember who did we have to contend with in those days. Noora league (Mentally deficit yet extremely corrupt) and PPP (Surrey palace and playboy popularity). So I remember him for a general feeling of well being during his decade. He was able to take far more criticism on the height of his power compared to today's crippled, weak democratic rule.

General Sahab is my only beloved leader be it military or politics. He came in to power during extremely difficult and tough conditions and all he did was in the best interest of the nation and yes there was collateral damage which could not have been avoided given the tight circumstances Pakistan was in. He was also perhaps the only leader who remembered Kashmir's on all platforms and occasions and interestingly he passed away on the Kashmir Day ❤️

Great show overall! A few comments: 1. Bugti was killed by an explosion from inside in which a Colonel and a few jawans were also killed. It was most likely suicide. 2. I agree with the “going all out” theory once he was in charge. He himself admitted to me once, when I asked him if he should have imposed a 10 year martial law to put the country in order. 3. There was not a single case of financial corruption on him. Not even his worst enemies could make a case. 4. He fell victim to his own success. I agree with you there whole-heartedly. 5. Aafia Siddiqui was arrested in Kabul. There are Afghan police interrogation videos on RU-vid in which it becomes very clear. 6. Musharraf never handed a single Pakistani citizen over to the US. All persons handed over were foreigners. 7. At least 17 universities were established in Balochistan. 8. He had planned to move back to Pakistan 2 years ago but the Pak Army had advised him not to since it would be difficult to protect him while also protecting the dignity of the army. He agreed.

Wajahat bhai I used to listened to you since I was 18, I love your analysis and as a student of History, Politics, Law & Current Affairs even most of the time I'm agreed with your analysis. Let's make a whole series of 8-10 blogs on every department separately(Like Judiciary, Politicians, Opposition, 2007 Govt', Forces and .....) over all those who use to take benefits from Mushraf in his time and now enjoying perks with some other ethnic groups. Like I'm petty much clear that Musharraf was a Traitor and as well as agreed with Ch Shujat if he was a Traitor then we all(who take sit in his cabinet or take benefits from that government are also Traitors) moreover, I believe Judges who take Oath over PCO are also Traitor and Giyllani & its cabinet who take oath from him when he was in Uniform were also Traitor. And if we saw deep down we observe that there is a specific bunch of families who were ruling over them. Please do such a detailed series with a balanced view (by keeping you and your family safe) to teach the actual history to today's youth. Even 1 more thing you forget to tell IK also said welcome to that Dictatorship and even campaigned for him when he went for a referendum.

I was college/uni student in Musharraf era... We didn't knew much about democracy/politics then and very little we knew about PPP,Nawaz,Zardari & Co of 90s, we thought Musharraf was a blessing and indeed we celebrated his arrival... in his starting few years we used to really like him for his overall personality, dealings with international issues, great reforms for higher education and overall prosper-looking Pakistan (I remember petrol prices probably used to be fixed for whole year, yeah we didnt knew much about US BTS $$ etc then)... However during his last years when we saw how single handedly he orders like go kill everyone in Lal Masjid, go fire rockets on Bugti (despite being even dummy politicians of that time used to almost successfuly negotiate the issues) + asking Ch. Iftikhar to step down which I think finally made us all to really understand what exactly that era exatly was, then his 2nd emergency+lawers movement+NRO+Media awareness totally converted him among youth, from a popular leader to a villain...

I am ready to get cussed at because I have before, and this is PURELY personal, but the Musharraf era was the only time I hung out in peace in Karachi even coming back home at 3-4am and my mom did not worry (much).

Good one 👍, fairly upfront and honest analysis. You didn't cover Chudaries. Who apparently foxed Mussarraf along with Zardari. Very well explained the pathetic role of his own outfit or hand picked Estb. So basically his legacy was killed by his own Estb and it is further evident now - Shame
