Yours is a rude unnecessary post. Like you, back in the 70's I loved various progressive bands and anxiously awaited their new releases and their concert tours. Time has moved on. The guys we love are no longer young and no longer do what they used do -- with a handful of exceptions. The Musical Box is not a "tribute band". These guys meticulously recreate Peter Gabriel era Genesis concerts, complete with all the trappings (lights, costumes, staging, etc) commissioned from and approved by the members of Genesis who performed these shows originally. There is nothing like experiencing this music LIVE. Younger people who did not have the opportunity to see the original tours like you and I did, have a chance to experience these shows first hand. Is it as good as the original? No -- and no one would expect it to be. You cannot be Peter Garbriel unless you are Peter Gabriel. Peter Gabriel cannot be 30 again any more than you or I can. I have seen The Musical Box several times -- and I saw the original tours of these shows, too, as a teenager. Their recreations of The Lamb Lies Down Tour, The Selling England Tour, and the Foxtrot Tour are spot on. I'd go so far as to say their Selling England show is as close to the original as humanly possible. You think there are no YES tribute bands? You are wrong. Tributes to many other old prog bands exist, too. I have seen many of those bands -- and while they all give it their best, NO ONE does it better than The Musical Box. You would deny young people the chance to hear this music LIVE and to see the shows performed as they were performed all those years ago -- and that would be a shame. The Musical Box is more akin to a Broadway Tour than it is to a "tribute band". They are fabulous and are paying respectful, dedicated, and meticulous recreations of an experience that can no longer be created by those who created it. I applaud The Musical Box and would gladly see them again.

@@yeswolf1 Hello Van and thx for reply.If you can take a second look at the beginning of my post you can see that my very first words are "not being disrespectful to the musicians". so my post may be unnecessary but certainly not rude. I have noting against these group or any other tribute groups where ever they are and what ever they are tributing for. It is the concept of a tribute band that i dont like from the reasons that i stated in my post.But hey, this is me... Btw can you direct me to a YES tribute band? it would be interesting to hear. Good Day

@@meirlieberman344 Telling them "trying to sing Peter Gabriel's songs is very pathetic and just sounds fake" is about as rude as you can get, regardless of how you prefaced it. The Musical Box is not a "tribute band", they are a painstakingly complete recreation of concert tours by Genesis in the early 70's -- meticulously done and well worth seeing.

Re: YES tribute bands -- there are several. Try looking up AWAKEN on RU-vid. None of the YES tribute bands attempt to do what The Musical Box does for Genesis -- i.e., recreate an entire tour down to every detail. The Musical Box actually licenses the lighting designs, the costumes, the projections, etc. directly from Genesis and performs with the approval and support of Genesis. Phil Collins has said, "They play the songs better than we did." It is a "recreation", not a tribute. Two very different things.

Well... Born in 1979, I just had no chance to see this era genesis live. So I'm literally glad there is a band like Musical Box which recreate this great time with a lot of attention to details. When I attend at their shows... its like a ride back in time. Its not just the sound... all sence are pleased. Go and see the show before you judge.
