If people would learn to try and get along with people AND stop showing off how successful you are or acting like all high and mighty they would not be in danger. Show some respect, just because you are successful doesn't mean you are more important then a homeless person
@@thebelizeaneh While what you said is good advice, but do think all these victims went there & acted in the manner you spoke of & deserved to die? I seriously doubt the tourists were killed because of how they acted, it was only because they were tourists period.
3% of murders solved in Belize and 60% of murders solved in the USA. Incredibly in 2015 109% of murders were solved in my country Scotland. The reason being that the murder rate was just 51murders for the entire nation, all solved and the police had enough time to focus on cold cases and solve several of them meaning we had more solved murders in 2015 than actual murders.
I have to say that's pretty cool. I love Scotland. When I traveled Europe, Edinburgh was my favorite place I went. Maybe it's because that's where my ancestors are from :)
They won't, I'm from the Caribbean and a neighbour of mine got killed and they never found the shooter, in Trinidad ppl get chopped up and thrown in the Dump and nothing happens....
Aysis Kyle Thank you for being truthful and not seeing this report as personal attack against the countries in the Caribbean. So many Belizean’s got on here talking shit acting like these atrocities don’t happen and that their country is perfect. None of ours is. No matter where your at there is corruption. No to the degree we see in some third world countries... well there third world countries.
I was a Merchant Mariner....I traveled to many countries... You are not safe in Any Country outside of America...none!! That passport is just a piece of paper.... It amazed me 20 years ago all these Tourists excotic places are guarded and seperate pretty much from the native population. There is a reason for that.
I travel alone a lot and the first thing I do during my scouting of places to visit/stay is read news and reviews about the place. Then take the appropiate actions, even if planning my day to get into my hotel/b&b before the sun is down. The world is a jungle and a woman alone is easy prey. It's sad but my safety is first always.
Wow, my husband and I took a cruise there, few yrs ago and went to see the ruins with a bus full of Americans....we felt like we had $$$$ on our heads, in such a poor country, thank god nothing happened, "ignorance is bliss...." all those dogs broke my heart...I was so happy to come hm and kiss my dogs!!!!
Yea so I was just in Belize 2 weeks ago and never felt like I was in danger. I had an AirBnB in Belize city and rode around in a rental car from all around the city to the Guatemalan border 2 hrs away to see Mayan ruins. Is this some kind of American scare tactic the media is playing at? If I had saw this coverage earlier I would not have gone.
Im belizean but i travel al around the world and no its not a zone war its dangerous in some place but not all and we belizeans are not all the same if you would like to no
People... America is a beautiful country..there are plenty of amazing places to go and see and 4 seasons to choose,. no need to go anywhere, seriously.
Taurian Belle dang woman! Though I agree with you that USA is gorgeous, don’t let paranoia get to you. The world is a big beautiful place for you to discover. Maybe you should quit watching too much real life crime series 😂
America is a nice country with many beautiful places BUT it also has a VERY high murder rate, lax gun laws and too many gun owners who feel they have the right to use their guns whenever, and however, they like, etc. The proof of the terrible crime rate is here for everyone to see on Yourube. There are endless true crime documentaries and most of those are about American cases.
I had a friend that lived there for many, many years. It is extremely dangerous as far as robbery, rape & murder. Luckily family flew down and got her out of there immediately when was assaulted and threatened when she reached out to law enforcement for help. This was in the 80's. I can imagine how much worse it is now!
Yes it was beautiful but very 3rd world at the same time. I’m glad I got it out of the way and I will never go back. I had a lot of fun. You’re right every gas station and bank was guarded with police and guns.
JunkySwag Thank you for following up! I came here to be snarky because I didn’t expect that. Please take care of yourself, and always be aware when traveling (especially these days)!
I am Belizean. What I find in all these cases I believe they were targeted for the main fact they are foreigners. Poor citizens believe they have money. This is sad. I am so sorry for all the lives lost.
I always here (Americans) people scared of going to Mexico, but they seem to think the rest of Latin America is safe and not bad like Mexico. I noticed that when I planned my trip to Peru and then Mexico. People were like what you're going to Mexico that scary but were excited about me going to Peru. I got robbed in Peru and got sick. Mexico was safe at least where I was at. No issues at all. We just have to remember that no place is safe. Just be aware all the time and don't believe the hypes.
Rest in peace beautiful couple hope they find the bitches that did that to them Americans gotta be careful going to different countries 🙏 to the family....
Belize is unsafe, how about Mexico. I will never go back to Mexico, it was not safe 20 years ago and I regret to say it is like walking around parts of Chicago. Prayers go out to those who lost loved ones.
@AMANI ROSE Where the hell in Mexico did you go? I've been to Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, La Paz, Cancun and Zihuatanejo. I've never had any problems in any of these places. Also I've even walked the streets at night by myself in these places and never felt threatened. On the other hand there are some cities in the U.S. I shouldnt be walking around by myself at night.
AMANI ROSE Mexico is safe. Their a lot of USA retirees and from cansada that live in Mexico. Mexico is safer then US. We have crime that’s increased in every state in USA.
I loved visiting Belize! I only spent the day there because I was on a cruise visiting 4 destinations in total, but it was magical! There's evil everywhere though. Scary to think about!
Why put up a video that only gives you part of the story? This only scratches the surface. Is anyone else curious as to why the couple died and who did it?
I travelled in Belize in 1990 and it was very safe back then. Is it still a British protectorate with an army base there? Back then they had quite a presence.
Ive been to Belize and found it beautiful, but that was many many years ago. Seems as if its gotten bad. Ive had dreams where no American will be safe outside America anywhere.
Sounds like a series killer. Three people strangled to death. That is a very personal way of killing someone...unnecessary unless you have no other weapon which is unlikely or if the killer wants to savor and enjoy the moment. I would say it was a crime of passion and someone who knows the couple because of the strangelation however, the fact that another woman who is unrelated to the couple was murdered the same way points to a serial killer. Especially since there isn't any obvious motive for the three murders.
I know this is old, but I am seeing it for the first time. Are you suggesting Drew Devoursney should be a suspect? If not stop here and ignore the rest. If you are, I would love to hear how anyone could strangle themselves to death with their hands duct tapped behind their back! Man this is five years old and still ignorant as hell!
No way would I travel to Belize its really bad down that way when it comes to crime and if have a little money is like having a target painted on your back.
