The Mysterious Case of the Missing Etches; Great Eastern Cutlery #83 Tascosa Dark Brewed Jigged Bone 

EDIT; Several have suggested that the non-etched examples will be more collectible. I should have talked about my opinion on this more. The problem is, how do you prove it came that way from the factory and that you didn’t just buff the etch off and refinish the blade to look as if it came without an etch. So, in my opinion, the non etched ones probably won’t ever command much more value and certainly won’t once they become new old stock, but I also don’t necessarily think they’ll drastically less valuable being that this situation is known and established. By the way, I don’t at all think it was intentional that some came without etches as Joan Mae (sales manager) said, direct quote from an email, “Not sure why they would not have one...it was not intentional.”.
Who knows for sure why some Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield #83 Tascosa Lockbacks in Dark Brewed Jigged Bone are coming without etches. My guess is that it has to do with the bustle of the Rendezvous. Either way, I’m not surprised that GEC is willing to stand behind their products and fix it for anyone who desires (just make sure to contact them ASAP, as the offer stands “within the month”)
