The Mystery Behind The King Salmonid 

I think this is a reference to the “pink fish” in the sunken scrolls which could literally save splatoon’s lore

Just a small thing, I’m pretty sure it was confirmed somewhere that snatchers are basically just chum that are proving themselves able to go out on the front lines.

"The Loyal Servant of the True Salmon King Hizumanasu" is the full name of the DJ that plays in the Salmonid band, Omega-3. From this, we can take that this king is a real king with servants, is part of a royal family (because they specify his name), and that there are multiple kings and Hizumanasu is the true king, or the most powerful. Is Hizumanasu the King Salmonid we see in the trailer? Maybe, but what I'm more interested in is if it *isn't* him. Let me explain. If this Salmonid's name is just "King Salmonid", he is probably not the true salmon king and probably just the king of a subgroup or smaller tribe of the salmons. That means there could be dozens, maybe hundreds more kings out there. What's most intriguing though, is that the true king, the Salmonid that rules over all the salmon tribes, is probably out there somewhere. Even bigger, stronger, more menacing, maybe biding his time. The True Salmon King Hizumanasu. Maybe we could fight it, meet it, or even just see it. It would be so cool to see a "King Rush", where a bunch of salmon kings go really crazy and try to fight Grizzco workers. Anyway, just my thoughts.

When you were doing hierarchy triangle you left out the golden salmon which are pretty rare kind of like shiny, so they get special treatment and get treated kind of like royalty so probably above most boss salmon.

Also we know how the crab tank works, it has two types of shots, type one is the weaker yet faster shots, and then there is the bigger shots that are slower but more deadly, I believe that the small shots are going to be ZR and the big shots are going to be R, like the regular fire and sub buttons, and the ZL button would activate ball mode, just like swimming or the baller.

Maybe there's multiple king salmonids kinda like how there's multiple boss salmonids? Maybe there could be some sort of kaiju trash mech as well? Perhaps some sort of Giga Maw that swallows the entire map whole if certain conditions aren't met.

We never actually saw the inklings jump back to the heli after they finished the last wave. Maybe this means that there’s gonna be more after wave 3, which might be part of the new name “next wave”?

I really hope that they take out the thing where all Golden Eggs not in the basket despawn at the end of the wave. I often have to focus on just surviving at the end of waves, and even if we pass, my team often misses out on 10+ eggs because they all disappear. Having that 10-15 seconds between waves is already good to regroup, but with the new Egg Throw, it would be even easier to get eggs to the basket while prepping for the next wave.

What if the king salmonid can destroy the egg basket temporarily and you have to splat it to stop it

Small theory when you were talking about the king and the rank system,I believe the thing above the king could most likely be a Queen,like in bee society,It would explain the eggs in such mass quantities and why they are so bent on getting them back,maybe the ones that are more close with the queen or like hand maids would be the golden salmonoids since they drop more eggs and tend to come with alot of protection salmon.Thats just an idea tho😅

I feel like the King Salmonoid should be a part of it’s own sorta wave mode, like the Grillers and such.

In reality, the salmon in salmon run look different based on how they were raised. Small fry aren’t children, they’re just salmon who didn’t grow up in harsh conditions. Meanwhile, cohozunas are probably just salmonids who grew up in the worst conditions possible. This explains why there are steelheads and big shots, as they grew up in worse conditions meaning that they would naturally be bigger and more terrifying.

On thing I would find cool is the king being a *rare* occurence where you have the 3 entire rounds to beat it

Maybe the King will appear at the end of a session, and ambush us, and we have to use egg cannons to take it down

I like to think that the King Salmon is some form of "Red Alert mode" where you have 3 waves to take down the King Salmon. Coming into shooting range at the last minute of every wave for the team to push back and eventually drive back into the ocean

honestly i'd like to see objectives in the story mode involve salmon run aspects, like surviving infinite waves of salmonid until you complete the objective, or trying to escape an absolute zerg rush also i think king salmonid are a specific breed, fed hundreds of golden eggs to reach that size, as no salmonid under natural conditions could possibly get that big.

Pretty sure it's just a very big and difficult boss that is fought normally to finish each salmon run playthrough. You went way into depth and its pretty obvious you have huge expectations which will not be met

perhaps king salmonid serves as some kind of invincible superboss that just ups and kills you if you take too long, and you need to get on a helicopter with special weapons to even damage it

Here's my thought on how the King Salmonoid could be: For sure he will appear later in the game (maybe during the half of the game) He will support the Salmonoids by throwing at us giant rocks that we need to dodge, he could do a screech that makes us weaker (or maybe if he isn't watched when he does it, the characters, of the players who didn't watch It, will get paralized by the fear) and he could also create giant wave of water and we will need to get shelter, or we will get splatted When we finish the final wave, he will not allow the helicopter to come enough closer to take us off, so we will escape in a safer area or we will need to craft a new weapon by combining all our weapons This makeshift arm will be controlled by all the players (example: One shoots, One aim, One makes it spin and one allows it to go up and down), with this we can't splat the king but we can fight back The bossfight will end when he is too much covered in ink, so he will retreat and we will be able to escape

I HAVE AN IDEA so, when you are done with all of the 3 waves then your not done, you have to fight the King Salmonid first you squid jump into the helicopter then other works hook you up with infinite ink jet then you FIRE and, when your done he drops like… 1,000 regular eggs then drops 20 golden eggs!

I think this could make a new night wave where it can come out at stage 3 and steal back the eggs like mother ship and and you have to splat it

In the animal kingdom the female is usually the largest, although we may not see a "Queen" salmonid in 3 it might make an appearance as a mega boss in a special version of a future version of salmon run

Before the trailer, i always thought that in hero mode 3, instead of the octoling strikes in the first two games, there would be a salmon run minigame but instead of salmons, there would be hoards of fuzzy octopi, and when they got defeated, it gave you the golden eggs to give power to a mechanisim that would release the zapfish.

My theory is that the real king would be a swarm of bacteria called "Salmonella" giving the shape of the before mentioned Kingzilla, so instead of throwing something bigger in the game, will throw us something... let's say... microscopic but in massive numbers. Another possibility is that this Kingzilla could be in the game itself, and possibly will eat our squidos, and is up to them to fight it from the inside. I hope, as suggested to Nintendo, that they consider also at least 2 layers of ink this time, gold, silver, black, white, and even thinners and/or erasers for whatever purposes (yeah, just brainstorming here). Hopefully we will get soon at least a test fire, to fry some Salmonoids.

What I think is that the person behind mr grizz (because I think that mr grizz is like a bear statue with a speaker in it) took all the salmon eggs and sanitized them (Because when you finish getting the thangs and talk to the phone he says something similar to what mr grizz says when you start grizzco) and then he gives a little buddy to everyone and since their sanitized they wound attack you. And then the king salmonid heard about the salmonids getting controlled so now he is trying to get them back

Maybe the king salmonid functions like the mother ship? If that were the case, it would probably have high health, & is maybe used to go snatch the eggs from the basket, and maybe you have to defeat it before it takes away the eggs? idk it's just a random thought I had.

Actually when he roars up to the sky its a reference to the 2019 film Godzilla King Of The Monsters. In that movie Godzilla shoots his atomic breath into the sky and the way this Salmonid is roaring into the sky is very similar to that scene.

I hope it's gonna be a big shadow of the colossus style boss that you have to climb and it can do all sorts of stuff (destroy the map, different phases, etc.) Maybe even some story/co-op. That would be so cool!

I would love to see this salmon as like a wave that he has a boss health bar and all your team has to work together to kill it and when you do kill it you pass the wave

I think the king salmonid would be a time bomb, if you don't complete the waves fast enough, it'll reach you and with the rest of the salmonids still there, you would be swarmed and would fail the salmon run, maybe it can also as you said, launch debris that can be splatted but if not, would slow the players down, and it's roar would mean a boss salmonid is coming or roaring would be like a message to all other salmonids around to charge as the runners are busy still fighting off the previous wave.

I really like the Fish Stick boss. When I first saw it I was like "Dang, that's such a cool idea!" And when I saw the name I laughed pretty hard. I like fish and fish sticks and I'm really excited to see more and play Splatoon 3!

Maybe the king salmons origin is that after such a long time inklings and octolings have been taking and stealing thier eggs.. so in the new place we battle everything is normal.. at first but suddenly a giant salmon awakens.. maybe this salmon has always been here but we have disturbed it and it's kin.. because Splatoon 3 does take place in a different place... So maybe idk just a theory

Smallfry salmonids actually aren’t babies! They’re fully grown adults, just another variant of salmonids. Chum and Cohocks are also their own type of variant, almost like little subspecies.

I'm not sure if salmonids actually have a feudal hierarchy, I think it's more like the "king" part of its name just refers to its size in comparison to all the other salmonids, since it is huge. Salmonids don't have names, they have fancy titles, which means that any one of them could have taken the mantle of "king".
