Why is this so relaxing?

Since the long jelly fish heads are slightly different towards the bottom in Splatoon 3, maybe it's their head, slowly but surely getting back in form. The weird head shape could be beginning of that process. The ring jellyfish could be the birth of a new jellyfish going wrong many times. Although I do not have an explanation for the sound when bumping into them.

love how theyre the working class of fish society but theyre pretty much what pays inklings the players for playing in the arena so theyre probably the most important members of society

Man your editing has been getting crazy good! ^-^ I cant remember where, but I think one of the artbooks mentioned that some Jellyfish are capable of breaking out of the hive-mind, one of which was Jelonzo. Another (confirmed) fact is that they didn't know they could be bioluminecent (change their colors for Splatfests) until one decided to try it and it worked, and the knowledge quickly spread throughout the hivemind. This is why they change colors in Splatoon2, but not in Splatoon 1. Could this be hinting at PLAYABLE JELLYFISH?!?... no, but that would be pretty sick.

I guess here is a theory. All the creepy sounds you hear in game are from Jellyfish mimicking the sounds from horror movies. Also that statue that played creepy sounds is from some kind of record device and an Inkling managed to put inside in an exempt to scare people as a prank but they couldn’t get back out.

It would be so cool if we got a new playable species like cuttlefish or jellyfish, that comes along with a whole new accessible area where we could swim in water or something.

I think that the inklings and octolings are all actually lazy because they don’t really do a job for Inkopolis but, they keep Inkopolis safe and that’s it really. Although ,they do play ranked, league and turf war.

I love the jellies and just watching them do things.

Maby the surface jellyfish get their color from natural light and the deep sea jellyfish have a more dull color because of the dim light and maybe an unhealthy diet of non water things.

Next topic suggestion: Half Inklings and Half Octolings While this is currently not established in the known Splatoon lore in terms of official revelation, but let's think and go beyond the laws of Inkopolis, Splatsville, and Octarian Society. Until recently, tensions between Inklings and Octolings weren't at a significant ease even after the Great Turf War ended. Octarian society, under the harsh rule of DJ Octavio, had always despised Inklings. However, with Octavio captured once and twice (and possibly a third time), it remains unknown if the Octarians underwent a government structure change. A mystery for another time. Inkopolis, on the hand, welcomed Octolings shortly after Splatoon 2 - Octo Expansion. Prior to this, it's implied that there was prejudice against Octolings trying to enter Inkopolis, hoping to settle down with a new life. However, somewhere beyond Inkopolis and beyond the Octarian borders, the tensions weren't all that hostile. Instead, Inklings and Octolings lived peaceful and unprejudiced lives just shortly after the Turf War ended. It's currently unknown how they lived in Splatsville since details on the "city of chaos" remain sparse. At some point, Inklings and Octolings got along with each other even to the point of love. Male Inklings and female Octolings got together, female Inklings and male Octolings got together. At some point, they spawned hybrid children. However, because of the strict laws against the respective enemies of Inkopolis and the Octarian homeland, they too were forbidden entry to either... that is until... well... only time will tell... In short, I just hope that Splatoon 3 - Order Expansion happens so we can establish that.

I find this interesting cas’ no one really observes the jellies, and they mostly make them fun like ‘friends on decor.

Maybe we will get Jelly-Lings in Splatoon 3, I really hope in Splatoon that Inkling and Octoling Society are fully merged and we see octarians walking around the plaza in Splatoon 3. We see some of the creatures from the deep sea metro in the first Splatoon 3 trailer, the game is at most 4 months away from writing this comment so we are very close! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to spend a part of my summer playing Splatoon 3!

Your Inkling's name is Red? I watched a lot of Reds with the same ink color and hairstyle in the GMOD/SFM Splatoon community.

For the underground jellies I think its sim0ly that they havent seen the sun in a while so they color changed, once they get back to the surface they would "tan" back to the aqua blue

if we take the siphonophores as just a video game counterpart to their real life cousins then they would be multiple living beings working together to do tasks like working eating and what not

Maybe the deep sea ones are a different color because they might need sunlight to produce color and bioluminescence

I’m taking notes of jellyfish hivemind and wonder if could have my own version, it’s not because I have nihilego that’s like a jellyfish and planning to take over the world…

So far I gotta say, these facts are very fun. I wonder if the colour coming back to the elongated jelly's is due to exposure to sunlight, more natural air or cleaner water (or just water in general?) Perhaps the big neck is them in an in between phase as their heads go back to a spherical shape. Maybe without (fresh?) water their bodies can't reform so the deepsea jellies have that different shape, but coming back to the surface lets them soak up some water perhaps :0

I like to image that Jellies do indeed have a mind of its own and their own personality separate from inklings because inklings also have no brain as shown in a diagram in the sunken scrolls so they actually BOTH don't have a brain but are able to communicate with each other and lead their own sentient lives with some jellies being smarter than others as they were able to learn inkling language.
