i have since become used to the fact that the playhead shows the frame that's behind it and adjusted my workflow accordingly but visualizing it with the playhead shadow is brilliant!

Soooo much to learn about video editing. As a newbie this has foxed me more than once. This shadow tip is a tremendous help. Thank you so much.

After almost 30 years of using one NLE or another ... I still get this backwards. One NLE I used had an option to do the opposite. To make the playhead be to the right of the selected frame ... I have no idea what weird NLE that was anymore, but I tried it early on - and it ruined my memory for this important detail. I've been using this tip for a while in Resolve... and I think I am finally getting it ironed out ... now that I don't edit for a living anymore I'm finally learning, lol.

It's so stupid! How about just make the out point where I have put the line?? So unintuitive and you don't always notice unless you're really zoomed in. And with snap turned on it takes you to the end of the clip so you need to always zoom in and go push it back a frame when you're exporting. So dumb I hate it, please change it Davinci or at least give us an option to turn it off in preferences.

Cool tip! As a beginner I have also been confused as to why the 1st frame is 0, not 1. It always confuses me because the last frame of a 1-second, 30fps clip is fame 29, not 30? Anybody else get confused as to why Black Magic does this?
