@@reven-docta79 have you ever watched Good Times and how James was removed from the show? Damn, Damn, Damn. No white TV father has been removed in that fashion.
@@solobeats1 Actually, there have been a few white dads (and moms) written out of, or swapped out of shows for various reasons (black and white casts). Nevertheless my point has to do with overt support of (positive) masculine black male figures in the media. There was when even the negative images (Pimps, drug dealers, etc…) of black male were unquestionably MEN. Today, we have shows and media portrayals of males like P Valley, Moonlight, and some of that garbage where clearly you can tell a black male with strong feminine qualities are overacting, trying to play thugs and gangsters (and failing). By your profile pic, you look to be around my oldest son’s age, so my contention isn’t with your position; however I just have few more decades from which to draw on as frames of reference. Have a good one👍🏾
@You tube Account 🤣🤣🤣, that's funny! First time I heard that! One sock up, the other down, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Next time I get my freak on, I'm gonna play this!🤣🤣🤣
Man I forgot how funny Bill Cosby really was..That stride/Glide was only to be matched in hilariousness by characters played by Benny Hill. Love or Hate him, he is a National Treasure 💯
@@eldredcooke7054 Say it again, man. Bill Cosby was a BEAST in the world of comedy for a long time. Yeah he fucked up Lol. But that doesn't take away from his comedic genius at all
This movie had the best character names: Biggie Smalls, Kansas City Mack, Bubble Top, Fish & Chips Freddie,Bootney Farnsworth, Mongo Slade and the illest of all never duplicated....40th Street Black!!!
Patrick y that ain't no lie Sun! "Bubble Top knows something about hypnosis what him to show you what he knows!?" That scene had me howling. The late great Julius Harris R.I.P.
"Oh ain't gon' be no violence, 'cause I'm gon' hit you so hard you ain't gon' see NOTHIN', EVA!" LOL. One of my favorite movies ever. This and Uptown Saturday Night.
Even " A Piece of The Action"....When he's on the elevator with Denise Nicholas and the elderly couple....and at the end of the movie when he's doing " The Bump" with the big girl.
I'm from Philly too and walk somewhat like that. I used to stroll in class in 8th grade and one of my teachers was like, "You gotta problem?" because the class was giggling. Ahh the life of a Sigma male.
Rosedale1 Dont forget the Original "In the Heat of The Night" when he slap that old racist white man back in his mouth right in front the police....lmao. My pops told me every body at the Drive In Movie was blowing their horns and clapping and celebrating when Sydney did that. Remember that was in the 70's just between the Civil Rights movement and The Black Panther party. It was really Pro Black back then! And the struggle continues✊
jennifersman Cosby didn’t need to. He mastered television just as Poitier did in film. Some people look at film as being the higher caliber within visual entertainment. As an artist myself, I don’t think so. They’re just different forms of expression.
Still one of my favorite movies. I love the 3 movies He and Sidney Potier made. "Let's Do it Again", "Uptown Saturday Night", and "A Piece of the Action".
This is how they used to dress in the projects and in the neighborhood here in Chicago. Cut-off dress pants, dress shoes and tube socks. Back in the day, this was on point!
Right On Baby!!! Did you Say Dress shoes and Tube 🧦 Socks!!! The 70's Never Ever Be another Like it.......The Fashion, The Music, The People... Greetings from Philly
@isaacandmary say what?? Hard to imagine any semi sane person running around in such a ridiculous get up. It's so outlandish which is what makes this scene so funny, that and Cosby.
Young Bill Cosby and old Bill Cosby seems like two completely separate people. I know they had to do several takes of this scene because somebody laughed.😂😂
Ok I am trying to figure how many takes they had to do this scene because I know they were laughing there asses off at Bill. Damn just his entry and exit alone kept me hollering.
They should try, even if its not as good, at least it would put this movie on a platform to showcase the excellence that we had/have. This was a time where we funded, made, and supported our own.
Hughie Duncan AMEN BROTHER !!!! THEY NEED TO LEAVE THIS CLASSIC THE FUCK ALONE! !!!! AND ANYBODY WHO TRYS TO REMAKE THIS SHOULD BE EXECUTED ADMEDILY!!!! SOME CLASSICS ARE BEST LEFT AS THEY ARE AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM!!!!!
The Background Music To This Scene Is Just Too Damn Funky, Salute And Rest In Power To The Musical Genius & Mastermind Curtis Mayfield Who Produced The Music & Soundtrack To This Movie....Real Talk!!!!!!
Glad I own all 3 on DVD: Let's Do It Again, Uptown Saturday Night, and A Piece of the Action. Though if I knew we'd have RU-vid I could've save a few $$s and just watch the best scenes here:)
This scene is classic Cosby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He loses his gun in his pants and reaches in "his junk" and gets it like it ain't no big thang....lol. Then turns around and "pimp walk" out the room.
C Williams But the crew at the table didn't flinch....Can't tell if he was gonna pull out his D and pee or pull out his trey and spray...not even a " WHAT THE HELL YOU DOING MAN?!!"
