Nehemia is a fraud. There are other examples of vowel points placed onto the Tetragrammaton. Jehovah from the vowels of Eloah, and let them deny it! Jehovih from the vowels of Elohim! YAHWEH from the vowels of Adonay (YaHoWayH, shortened to YAHWAH). Different Hebrew Scriptures are known to have other variations around YHWH of God's name. Don't listen to Nehemia's linguistic gobbly-goop.

Shalom! Bar Illan University needs to give researchers access to view Jewish sources. Thank you for informing about the NT sources with the divine name. Here in Brazil, people are not informed about this, they generally accuse Jehovah's Witnesses of error in restoring the divine name in the NT. Yehováh God bless you!

I love 💕 this, thank you so much, for your U tube video, I'm not a Christian anymore since they say Jesus is God, so that I follow God, I had to leave Christianity, I doing this I stand alone now, as I have no church don't go to a Jewish synagogue temple, have no access to a Jewish synagogue temple, have no Jewish people to congregate with either, rather it's all Alone, and so the Jewish rabbi's who Blog post video's on U tube, is my only option now, and the Torah channel video blog U tube, has disabled me from commenting on their comments anymore, how am I to be a good God following believer without being part of a Jewish person community ??? When I'm can't join in, to other people who believe in HaShem, the language I speak is English, I can't understand the Jewish language, it's been very helpful to solve this language barrier, having contact to the online world of U tube, but if I'm missing information about HaShem, threw being disabled to communicate with them, such as the one called the Torah channel, I can't learn more about HaShem, but being seperated from him instead, it saddens me, to know why current events are playing out, in Israel, I have been reading about this in the Christians Bible, when I was reading it, I was trying to eat the knowledge of the Bible, as is what U are told to do, but as I am personally perplexed by the Jesus stuff, I found this competing with the following no one but God, and the Christians Bible study says that you follow Jesus, and the Jewish rabbi's say that is called replacement theology putting Jesus before GOD, U have broken a command of God, so I am trying to follow God, bless his holy name, HaShem, so I need guidance from the Jewish people, so that I have information about God, the correct information about God, that is not from the Christians, but the Torah of God, blessed be his holy name HaShem, I want to follow God, so I am not left behind when the moshach comes, as his judgement is server on those who are not following him, to follow God is to try to make sure you follow the commandments of God, the ten commandments of God, and repentance to be forgiven for your wrong doings, forgiveness is extremely important matter

Given that we now have copies of the Septuagint with YHWH written in ancient Hebrew; given that we find YHWH written in the Dead Sea Scrolls, it is surley time to dismiss the argument that the divine name, YHWH had fallen out of favour. There is now little doubt that when the NT writers quoted from the OT, they included YHWH.

I have considered the historical, political, and variations. What if in the tetragram of God, the Hei is a Tav? And, what would be the meaning? Hand/Cross/ Nail / Cross?

To habitually use ha shem, adonai, or any substitute in place of Yehovah's name is to sin by transgressing His 3rd commandment of You shall not make My name vain - of no effect. That is, to refrain from using Yehovah's name is to make it of no effect. So how many are ?

**** The messianic prophecy found in Jeremiah 23 teaches us that the Messiah will be God himself. The Sages themselves understood and taught this passage in the same way. Some verses show that the Messiah would also be God… other verses show that He cannot simply be a man. 1. Isaiah 9:6 ‘For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele-joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom;’ This child which is born is called "El-Gibbor", which as I’m sure you know is 'Mighty God' and is never used of a man. Avi-Ad is literally ‘Father of Eternity’ and could never describe a mere man. Some quotes for you… In the Targum of Isaiah we read: "His name has been called from old, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, He who lives forever, the Anointed One (Messiah), in whose days peace shall increase upon us." Midrash Mishle, S. Buber edition: The Messiah is called by eight names: Yinnon, Tzemah, Pele ["Miracle"], Yo'etz ["Counselor"], Mashiah ["Messiah"], El ["God"], Gibbor ["Hero"], andAvi 'Ad Shalom ["Eternal Father of Peace"] The great rabbi Ibn Ezra said: There are some interpreters who say that ‘wonderful, counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father’ are the names of God, and that only ‘prince of peace’ is the name of the child. But according to my view, the right interpretation is that they are all the names of the child. (Walter Riggans, Yeshua Ben David [Wowborough, East Sussex; MARC, 1995], p. 370) Clearly, if this was the only verse, it shows that this child is called God. The Rabbis called the Messiah by the name ‘God’. 2. Jeremiah 23:5-6 'The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness. The Messiah is given the name of God alone. Jehovah. The Midrash on Proverbs 19:21 says ‘Rabbi Hunah said ‘Eight names are given to the Messiah which are Yinnon, Shiloh, David, Menachem, Jehovah, Justi de Nostra, Tzemmach, Elias.’ The Midrash on Lam 1:16 says ‘What is the name of the Messiah? Rav Ava ben Kahanna said ‘Jehovah is his name and this is proved by, ‘this is his name… [quoting Jer 23:6].’ So this passage and these Rabbinic quotes show that the Messiah was called Jehovah. No mere man would ever be called by God’s name. 3. Micah 5:2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days. The Targum Jonathan (second century A. D.) : ‘And You Bethlehem Ephrath, you who were too small to be numbered among the thousands of the house of Judah, From you shall come forth before Me... The Messiah.’ In regards to the Messiah’s human origin He is said to have been born in Bethlehem, but regarding His divine origin He is said to be ‘from old, from ancient days.’ Arnold Fruchenbaum writes ‘The Hebrew for ‘from long ago, from the days of eternity’ are the strongest Hebrew words ever used for eternity past. They are used of God the Father in Psalm 90:2… Again we have a passage which shows that Messiah is to be human - being born at some specific point in time at some specific place - yet having existed since eternity past, and therefore divine.’ 4. Psalm 2:7-12 Messiah would be the Son of God. Therefore He would be divine. And in case you think this isn’t about the Messiah, Rabbi Rashi says ‘Our Rabbis expound it as relating to King Messiah.’ 5. Isaiah 7:14 While you don’t like it, the prophecy shows that a virgin would give birth to a child who is literally, ‘God with us’. The Hebrew word 'Almah' is used in this passage and speaks of a virgin. Arnold Fruchtenbaum writes ‘Since everyone agrees that 'almah' means an unmarried woman, if the woman in Isaiah 7:14 were a non-virgin, then God would be promising a sign involving fornication and illegitimacy. It is unthinkable that God would sanction sin, and in any case, what would be so unusual about an illegitimate baby that could possibly constitute a sign? As far as ancient Jewish writers were concerned, there are no arguments about Isaiah 7:14 predicting a virgin birth… The Jews who made this translation (Septuagint), living much closer to the times of Isaiah than we do today, translated Isaiah 7:14 using the Greek word parthenos which very clearly and exclusively means a virgin. 6. Psalm 110 We know from 1 Kings 2:19 that anyone who sits at the king’s right hand must be equal with the King. This Psalm of David’s speaks of someone other than Jehovah who is "David’s lord". This Lord is both a priest and a king and sits at Jehovah’s right hand. It is a joke to say that this is David himself as David was from not a priest, but was from the tribe of Judah. Nor does he sit at the right hand of God. It is the Messiah who is spoken about in this passage and He is equal to God. 7. Prov 30:4 Here is a riddle for you… It consists of 6 questions. The first 4 questions are obviously about God Himself as only God could accomplish these things. The fifth question asks what the name of God is. I’m sure you can answer this one. The sixth question reveals that God has a Son! And it asks what His name is! Oh, oh! I know, I know. The Messiah is the son of God and His name is Jesus! 8. Psalm 45:6-7 Elohim is applied to two divine personalities in the same verse! The second Elohim is called the God of the first Elohim! Only makes sense in terms of the Messiah being God, the son of God as other verses have shown! 9. Hosea 1:7 We see the same thing where the speaker (God - Elohim) will save them by the Jehovah, their Elohim. Elohim is again spoken of as two distinct personalities. Another example is Gen 19:24. 10. Zech 2:10-11 Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD. “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.’ The LORD is going to dwell amongst us and it is the LORD Almighty that sent Him! **** Can it get any clearer? This shows the YHWH sent YHWH and only makes sense when you know that the Messiah Jesus is God! He is the one who lived amongst us. He is ‘God with us!’ That is why in the Shema, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!’, the ‘our God’ part is plural in the Hebrew (literally ‘our Gods’ and the word for ‘one’ is echad - a compound unity, not absolute unity as in the word ‘yachid’.) Arnold writes ‘If Moses had intended to teach God’s absolute oneness as opposed to His compound oneness, this would have been a far more appropriate word (yachid) to use.’ *** But he didn’t! He used echad which is used in such passages as Gen 1:5 where evening and morning are called one (echad’) day. Gen 2:24 where when man and woman come together in marriage and are called ‘one flesh’. Ezra 2:64 where the whole assembly was one, though ofcourse it comprised of many people. Or Ezek 37:17 where the two sticks are combined to become one. These are all uses of echad and show that it is a compound unity. Even in the Old Testament there are three distinct personalities that are co-equal (of the same essence, of the same nature) that are considered divine. 1. The Lord YHWH 2. The Angel of YHWH 3. The Spirit of God. The Angel of the Lord is clearly seen to be divine in passages such as Gen 16:7-14, Gen 22:9-16, Gen 31:11-13, 32:24-30, Ex 3:1-5, Judges 6:11-24 amongst others. These passages show that ‘The Angel of the Lord’ is much more than just an angel and is a fulfillment of the Micah prophecy about the Messiah ‘whose goings forth have been from eternity.’ The Spirit of God is clearly divine in such passages as Gen 1:2, Psalm 51:11, Isaiah 11:2, Isaiah 63:10, Isaiah 63:14 amongst others. Arnold writes ‘The Holy Spirit cannot be a mere emanation because, as can be seen in these quotations, He has all the characteristics of personality - intellect, emotion and will - and is considered divine.’ Arnold points out that all three personalities are used in the same passage such as Isa 48:12-16 where God the creator of the earth is speaking and says that He has been sent by another, Jehovah, together with a third person, the Spirit of Jehovah. This is the trinity! And it is clearly seen in the Tanach. The three are seen also in Isaiah 63:7-14.

Please, Nehemia and team, make a new video about non-hybridism with Adonay's vowels. Here in Brazil, 99% of theologians don't know that Yehovah is not a mix with Adonay. All academic sources endorse hybridity. I and another channel, Queruvim, have published about Jacob Bachrach but Mr. Nehemia is a relevant source. Please make a new video about Adonay's vowels.

Why is YHWH not written very frequently in the NT? Is it because of something to do with the use of Greek? OR Is it because of the Jewish/Rabbinic tradition of placing a fence around Torah, i.e. the NT writers were adhering to this tradition?
@SepticFuddy
@SepticFuddy 8 дней назад
There's a good chance it was removed from the Greek around the same time it was removed from the Septuagint. The Septuagint manuscripts we have from the Dead Sea Scrolls have the name in Paleo-Hebrew where the transmitted Septuagint has "kurios" (lord)
@seankennedy4284
@seankennedy4284 8 дней назад
@@SepticFuddy If I understand you, it is your belief the absence of "YHWH" in the NT is due to the fence around Torah. To wit, the changes made to the Septuagint, from paleo "YHWH" to "kurios." In which case, during the course of the centuries immediately prior to the 1st century, this fence around Torah looks to have been put into effect. The NT writers, then, were following this tradition.
@SepticFuddy
@SepticFuddy 8 дней назад
@@seankennedy4284 You misunderstand. The standard version of the Septuagint with "kurios" is from several centuries later, even after Constantine. The Dead Sea Scrolls variant with Paleo-Hebrew is more contemporary with the original NT writings. Rabbis were being martyred by the Romans for pronouncing YHVH as it is written at least a century after Yeshua's time, which is the reason the ban was later instituted. There was no such ban in the 1st century, except among the Samaritans, who were the earliest to ban it. Most likely, the NT writers included YHVH, and later scribes substituted it for "kurios" in both the NT and LXX well after the Rabbis had already instituted the ban. Our earliest manuscripts (outside of the Dead Sea Scrolls LXX) post-date that later censorship, although there are some earlier LXX fragments written by non-Hebrew scribes that used other methods to represent the Tetragrammaton, such as "pi-iota-pi-iota" (which is graphically similar to the contemporary Hebrew Tetragrammaton).

"god" is a title. all gods have names, even pagan gods have names..Zeus, Isis, Baal. So the true God has also a name. YHWH (Exodus 3:15). This is how we can DISTINGUISH between the true God and the pagan gods.

Yehovah is a hybrid name that has the vowels arbitrarily added to YHWH, changed to YHVH, from the vowel of Eloah. “For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’” (Romans 10:13). What is “the name which is above every name”? The answer is given by the prophet Isaiah. “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV). Where did the name YAH come from? First, did you know that the name Jesus has only existed since the 17th century? Therefore, God never revealed the name Jesus, nor did the apostles ever know Him by the name Jesus. But what of the name YAH? We look to Moses. “Then Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?’ And God said to Moses, “HaYAH Ashar HaYAH” [meaning: “I AM WHO I AM”]. And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM {YAH} has sent me to you.’ Moreover, God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations’” (Exodus 3:13-15). “HaYAH” means “the I AM” YAH is “the name which is above every name.” YAH, I AM, in Hebrew is יָהּ Therefore, it is HaYAH, “The I AM.” Not Ehyeh. Yeh, or Jehovah are false names never revealed by God. Since the apostles never knew the name Jesus, which was placed by man into the New Testament, and not according to the revelation of God, we need to put back the revealed name of the Savior. Is this name YAH a part of the Savior’s name? The apostle Paul assures us of “the name which is above every name,” as part of Christ’s name. He testified, “While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am YAHSHUA, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me’” (Acts 26:12-18). Christ told Paul His name in Hebrew. And this is what Paul wrote to the Philippians, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him ‘the name which is above every name,’ that at the name of YAHSHUA, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Christ, Himself told the people that He is YAH, meaning “I AM.” Our Savior said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM {YAH}.” The expression “I AM”, means YAH. We praise our God and Savior with this expression: “Halleluyah, Praise YAH!” Shua means “my help,” as in “salvation.” YAHSHUA means, “I AM Salvation.” And the apostle Peter testified, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” When the Sanhedrin (Jewish Court) heard the name YAHSHUA, as the name YAH is the very name given to Moses, and they recognized the very name YAH, that they sought to hide from the Gentiles, for fear that the Gentiles would profane the name, the Sanhedrin forbid the apostle from preaching in this name, “YAHSHUA” (Acts 4:17-18). However, when the apostles preached in the name of YAHSHUA, the people did not hear it, instead, they heard the name Yeshua (a common name among the Jews at that time), and unless one was part of the Way, the Nazareans, the name YAHSHUA was not well known. Yeshua, an Aramaic name, was a common name in the 1st century. Those who reject the name YAHSHUA need to take warning, “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18). Why is this important revealed name, YAHSHUA, not better known? The answer is given by YAHSHUA, He said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). “Few there be who find it.”

Exodus 3:15 And Elohim said further to Mosheh, “Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra’ěl, ‘יהוה Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.’

@@SepticFuddy the tetragrammaton links to "I am who I am" or "I am who I want to be" which hints to what I said. You cannot give G'd a name like you give a human or an animal a name. God cannot be fathomed as a name.

@@RudydeGroot YHVH is a combination "hayah" (he was), "hoveh" (he is), and "yihyeh" (he will be). "Ehyeh asher ehyeh" (I will be who I will be) is a reference to the Tetragrammaton, not the other way around, which is why he clarifies it literally right after and says "This is My name forever". He explicitly gives HIMSELF that name, and never once insinuates anything about being unable to name. He commands us to swear in that name (Deu 6:13). YHVH occurs about 6828 times in the Hebrew Bible, which is an average of 7x per page depending on the printing, and several times more than every other divine title combined. Most English translations render it as LORD or Lord GOD, the all-caps representing YHVH in the Hebrew text. YHVH is His name. He explicitly says as such in Scripture. You are inserting an interpretation that is contrary to what Scripture could not possibly have more plainly stated.

@@SepticFuddy as I said: God cannot be fathomed as a name. That's what God basically told Moshe when he asked for His name. I am not contradicting scripture here. G'ds name (His essence) is simply ineffable (there are no vowels) and hence you refer to Him as Lord, God, Yah, Ein Sof, Eternal One, Omnipresent, Creator etc. There are 42 mentions of the tetragrammaton in de hand and head tefillin. So wise man from the past created a mystical poem called Ana Becho'ach (also spelled Ana b’Khoaḥ) where 42 beginning letters from every word is supposed to be a mere spiritual hint of the essence of the Incorporeal One. So go learn that poem to try and draw closer to the Omnipresent to grasp just a hint of the essence of His character.

@@RudydeGroot God told Moshe "This is my name forever." "Swear by this name", "I am YHVH", "YHVH is our God YHVH is one", "YHVH will be one and His name will be one", "Those who call upon the name YHVH will be saved", etc. ad nauseam. You're telling me that Him telling us 'This is My name' really means "I can't be fathomed as a name." You can hand-wave with whatever ridiculous mystical traditions all you want, but that does not change the fact you are directly contradicting God's own blatant words throughout the whole of Scripture. I don't care what some deluded Rabbi says. You're inserting an interpretation not derived from the text that utterly contradicts the text.

הוה , HOVAH, calamity, disaster. There is no word "Ye-hovah" in the Hebrew Bible. It is a heresy.

Nehemia has debunked this theory in a video called "A Disastrous Misunderstanding of the Name Yehovah". It is based on a serious misunderstanding of Hebrew grammar.

@@mihailgae-draghici4864 Hovah does not only mean "destruction" but also "she that is", from two completely different roots. YHVH is derived from 3 forms of the root *hey-yud-hey* which means "to be" (hayah hey-yud-hey "he was", hoveh hey-vav-heh "he is", yihyeh yud-hey-yud-hey "he will be"). Hovah as in destruction derives from the root *hey-vav-heh* and thus has nothing more to do with Yehovah than the English word "assume" as to do with the words "ass", "you" and "me." The perceived similarity is pure coincidence.

As a Bible believing Jew Nehemiah Gordon is commanded to guard and protect the Name. Jews do not want non-Jews speaking the Tetragrammaton. Therefore as a Bible believing Jew, Nehemiah Gordon obeys the commandment to guard the Name and promotes what is called the qere perpetuum which the Masoretes created to protect and to guard the Tetragrammaton from abuse. Therefore, He teaches the Gentiles to use the defective vowel points. As a Jew he is commanded to do that. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qere_and_Ketiv "....Another example of an important qere perpetuum in the text of the Bible is the name of the God of Israel - יהוה‎ (cf. Tetragrammaton). Often it is marked with the vowels יְהֹוָה‎, indicating that it is to be pronounced as אֲדֹנָי‎ Adonai (meaning "my Lord") rather than with its own vowels. The consensus of mainstream scholarship is that "Yehowah" (or in Latin transcription "Jehovah") is a pseudo-Hebrew form which was mistakenly created when Medieval and/or Renaissance Christian scholars misunderstood this common qere perpetuum, so that "the bastard word 'Jehovah' [was] obtained by fusing the vowels of the one word with the consonants of the other"[5] (similar to reading hiw for the qere perpetuum of the third-person singular feminine pronoun). The usual Jewish practice at the time of the Masoretes was to pronounce it as "Adonai", as is still the Jewish custom today."
