We should call this era "the Coalitions Wars" given to the number of times they declared war on France (and lost) Considering Napoleon as the big villain is still a false idea that still exists today

The monarchies had no choice but to keep trying to end Napoleon. The whole French revolution's existence literally rejects the monarchy's existence. If the kings made peace with France, they feared their peoples will eventually "get ideas".

The Battle of Leipzig, know in german Language as the Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig ( the peoples battle of Leipzig because so many nationalities fought there) was such a big turning point.
