The Narwhals Interview on Peeples Place, 10-09-14 

Santa Clarita journalist Stephen K. Peeples got together with Santa Clarita rock band The Narwhals to talk about the group's original music on the soundtrack of the Disney comedy "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day." The movie stars Jennifer Garner and Steve Carrell and opened Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at theaters everywhere.
Joining Peeples for this exclusive "Peeples Place" interview are Narwhals members Braeden Lemasters, Zack Mendenhall and Dylan Minnette. Drummer Cole Preston was in class at USC, taking music business courses while his bandmates played hooky for this interview.
The first connection: The Narwhals' original song "Surf Surf Don't Drown" is featured in the soundtrack to "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,"
The second connection: Narwhals singer-writer-keyboardist-guitarist Dylan Minnette co-stars in the film as the teenaged son of Garner and Carrel's characters.
"Surf Surf Don't Drown" is featured on the 6-song Disney soundtrack EP released prior to the film, and on the band's own 4-song EP released the same day as the film. Both EPs are available through iTunes.
The Narwhals premiered "Surf Surf Don't Drown" in spring 2014 performing live on the acclaimed "House Blend" music and interview show on SCVTV in Santa Clarita, hosted by Stephen K. Peeples. scvtv.com/?p=14502
The Narwhals first appeared on "House Blend" in Season 1, fall 2010, when the bandmembers were still in middle school.
