He's the NBA's newest and much-needed villain. This is how Dillon Brooks became the NBA's most hated player. Follow Nonstop Instagram: / nonstop TikTok: / nonstop Twitter: / nonstop Imagery supplied by Getty Images
I have no problem with Dillon Brooks embracing the villain roll, the league needs players like that. However, intentionally trying to injure players is not cool, and shooting
And he's a starting player too which makes it even worse. The guy talks too much and can't back it up, very hypocritical of him to say "keep doing that off the court stuff" when he's not practicing enough himself.
what bothers me isn't the trash talk, but the lack of self awareness and especially his dirty play. He had like three dirty plays in the GS series last year alone shoving curry and poole, and sending GP2 out for four weeks.
@@yaboyrainbowblitz2773 nah i wouldnt lol, grizzlies arent even my fav team. There is no player i despise due to their way of playing. The only ppl i dont like is cuz of their character nothing else.
There's a huge difference between an instigator, a fighter, and a straight up dirty player. And some times he's even worst than that. Pushing the camera man, sure maybe it wasn't 100% intentional, but his total disregard of him afterwards was straight up disgusting.
n whats wrong wit that? not everyone can be lebron and even few can work there way up there too, i don't like everything he does but he's great enterainment
the first thing that comes to mind when his name is brought up is "talks too much crap". Nothing about his game . . . he should learn something from Kawai, let your game do the talking.
Facts!😓 the disrespect to even have those words next to each other lol he not even close, matter of fact who is Dillion Brooks when it comes to the DAWG the LEGENDARY Tony “1ST TEAM ALL DEFENSE” Allen?💪🏾A nobody. 😂😂😂
Calling him the next Tony Allen is truly disrespectful. Tony was an amazing defender, Brooks is a clown, he's just an ok defender. As Gilbert Arenas said, old school guys think defense is fouling. It's the same with Brooks, he just hurts players, doesn't even defend that well, he just talks a lot and annoying, nothing else. Beverly is still better despite being ancient.
Being physical on the defense is one thing(which is something I respect), but there is a difference when you are injuring people in the game. Not sure if anyone would be happy with that.
Yep. Like what he did to GP2. And what's worse was his own coach kinda condoned that, calling Draymond dirty and claiming that they're a clean team after Brooks injured GP2. I do hope karma hits Brooks and the current Grizzlies.
@@jdapaul1351 ur a clown for thinking dillons intention was to hurt gp2. The only reason gp2 got hurt was cuz he took the whole impact with his arm, dillon had no play in that, if gp2 wouldnt have fallen like that n broke his arm no one would even talk bout that foul at all.
@@joey-desu disagree. If Brooks didn't interfere, GP2 would've not gotten injured. He could have hung a bit on the rim so he can land safely. It's clear that Brooks hit him hard, and that affected his landing and caused his injury.
@@jdapaul1351 ye im not saying brooks had 0 part and if he didnt foul gp2 he would of been fine, but brooks didnt walk up to him and just broke his arm. What brooks did was not intentionaly injurying a player, he went up for hard foul (which it was yes) hoping that gp2 would miss the shot and go to the line, he didnt jump up hoping that gp2 will fall in a way that injures him. At the end the landing was the problem and if gp2 would of landed differently and not on his arm, no one would even be talking about that play.
Not a fan of either team, but Poole didnt injure ja. He suffered a fracture in a close out earlier in the game. Poole aint fracturing a knee with slight grab.
Remember back in the day when LeBron was considered a Villain for joining Miami and KD for joining the Warriors. Not giving my opinion on those decisions but we've really devalued the word "villain" due to this slimeball.
Honestly the only reason its so annoying is because hes not a star. There's been multiple guys like him in the league at all times, but only the one thats an elite player will get recognized as "The Villain". If Brooks is the NBAs villain thats a problem. Cause the guy cant score to save his life and hes not doing much else. Reminds me of early Draymond talks ( but he prob shouldnt have been an allstar anyway)
Starting shit in game is one thing. But things like walking away without apologizing or checking on the cameraman he pushed down (even if it was an accident) is different. Dude is probably just an asshole off the court as well.
Did he just say Dillon Brooks is like Tony Allen just to conveniently state that Kobe once praised his defense... That's a looooong stretch with no regard to objective reality
@@bleak8650 it's understandable that non-Grizzlies-fans don't like him. I like him, because he was with the team since day one of the rebuild and helped building the culture of this team. So I will always appreciate him for what he did
He's not even a top 5 perimeter defender. Giannis, Jrue Holiday, Marcus Smart, Triple J, Davion Mitchell, and Lu Dort. Are all better defenders Edit: Almost forgot GP2, Timelord, Grant Williams.
Brooks is very good defender man I get you don’t like him and all but he’s a great defender in todays league any defender will get cooked which is why there’s clips of him looking bad but that happens to literally all defenders nowadays. His personality is one of those that you hate and I would hate to be around but he’s definitely a top defender
@@KirilNeglovich He is loud and quite inefficient, but unlike Beverly he can legit lead a team if he needs to. He did that for 3 years at Oregon and that was during the best period in recent team history. I personally love the guy, he is hilarious and all effort in everything he does, from fouling to trash talking to bricking shots. I also like Beverly but I don't think Beverley is as good of a guy to have as an overall player its hard to imagine him keeping a team even slightly competitive on offense regardless of how many chances he gets where as if Brooks gets hot he can actually be decent on that end.
@@Kinney972 if we’re talking strictly perimeter yes he’s probably top three overall probably not top 5 but I’d put him in the top ten. He’s the best perimeter defender on Memphis for sure he usually takes the other teams best guard. Trip is overall the better defender but if you watch in close games or games where the games on the line they’ll put brook on the ball handler Bcs he’s better from the perimeter than JJJ. I’m gonna make a comparison and people are gonna hate on me for, but I believe that Gianni’s is arguably the leagues best defender but from the perimeter he would struggle a little against shifty guards who could shoot the three and that’s why they brought in drew for his amazing perimeter d while Giannis could play from mid- close range instead of chasing down guards. I personally believe brooks is a better perimeter defender than Gianni’s not overall but a better perimeter defender for sure. That’s just me though there is room for argument, but it’s not because brooks is bad it’s because there are other really great defenders like jrue
As a grizzlies fan I don’t like him but you have to admit y’all been saying the league is too soft and then complain when brooks does something that all the nba legends did 😂
