@@ericassarsson7976 You really are amazing 😀thanks also for the reply my friend,😄 I've been playing guitar for 8 years but not continuous, there are years that I totally stopped when my guitar was stolen in class. maybe 4 to 5 year hiatus after I played again when I managed to buy a good guitar. I play mostly rock and metal ( Guns and Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, Led Zep, Extreme, Queen, etc), then just a few years ago I discovered the sound of Mateus Asato and Ruben Wan which I really like and I discovered its Neo Soul, playing mostly Jazz Chords with fill-ins that are so cool but I have no idea how to do it since I don't have any Jazz background and I only play basic major and minor chords and solos by ear with the help of some tabs.☺ so that's my bit of history.🤭 Thanks again Eric..Blessings.🙏

Only a year, sometimes your lessons seem a bit beyond my skill set lol but they are helpful. I know the major/minor pentatonic scales and a bunch of different moveable chord shapes along with an idea of chord progressions but trying to get better at playing in context and triads. I have a suggestion is it possible if you could do a vid breaking down the theory behind neo soul songs? I like tom misch but maybe any good neo soul songs you like a breakdown could be helpful@@ericassarsson7976

PS - not all great players are great teachers and vice versa. Uve managed to do both very knowledgably, articulate clearly, and most important, the ability to explain complex concepts in easy to digest quick chunks. That sir is a gift. Hope this channel grows. When are you touring to Canada?

I've been playing guitar for 10 years. I'm self-taught, so I don't have any formal music theory training. I've been trying to learn jazz and neo-soul, but I've found that jazz is really challenging. @@ericassarsson7976
