WHO WERE THE NEPHILIM? Mighty Giants, Fallen Angels or Mysterious Beings: Unravelling a Mystery with Rabbi Skobac
There's a strange phenomenon where many people become very fixated on obscure and mysterious parts of the Bible but they don't pay much attention to what is truly essential and primary. One of these unusual passages is from the sixth chapter of Genesis which describes mighty men referred to as Nephilim.
If this were a vital passage to understand, scripture would have provided us with more detail. But the Bible chooses not to tell us much about them.
There are several approaches to understanding who they actually were in commentaries to the Torah and in rabbinic Midrashim. In this video lecture Rabbi Michael Skobac explores some of these views regarding who the Nephilim were.
