A big thank you to BuildTheEarth Benelux for showing us everything they made in this episode! You can join the team here - discord.gg/bte-benelux-bnlx-buildtheearth-net-695920215044784158
@-JBYT- Nop. It's just the central city with basically all train connections Our capital is Amsterdam which i assume you have heard of, cuz that's usually the only place people go to when they say they went to the netherlands. Utrecht is the "head city" of the province that's also called Utrecht.
@@-JBYT- No, Amsterdam has always been the capital of the Dutch state and the government has always been in The Hague. Utrecht has always been a major city, but the only time it's been a capital was when Utrecht had its own prince-bishopric centuries before a Dutch state was founded.
half of what he's saying is wrong too it's so embarassing, combined with the pronounciation and the fact he included Brussels (Belgian capital) in the thumbnail
Thank you Pippen, for mentioning my and my team's builds. It's lovely to see our small team get this attention and recognition! P.S.: Amazing how you pronounced Tessenderlo flawlessly. :)
@@jerungbiru55 To be fair, if origins existed in real life, the Dutch would be merlings, not blazeborns, as blazeborns live in the Nether, a hellish landscape full of lava and evolved pigs, and the Dutch visibly don't live in the Nether, but instead live in the Netherlands, which has been nicknamed the Atlantis of the Europe, and for a good reason, as the inhabitants of the Netherlands, the Dutch, are famous for being masters at controlling the seas, and likewise, merlings are known to be masters at ruling the seas, therefore, the Dutch would be merlings if origins existed in real life.
Showing Brussels, this definitely made a few Belgian's not so happy. Also some of these pronunciations are definitely on the tipping point of full on drunk west-flemish man.
Star shaped forts are shaped that way because they have no blind spots along the walls. This was useful when they were constructed in the medieval period in case they were attacked.
Dutchies call Belgium “Zuid-Nederland”, translates to “South-Netherlands”, because after Napoleon’s defeat, the two were merged into 1, along with Luxemburg.
The reason why so many fortesses are star shaped is because it provides better protection against cannon fire as the sloping walls distribute the impact of the cannon balls on a bigger surface area as opposed to straight walls where the impact of the cannon balls is more concentrated on a smaller area.
The reason old forts are like that are because they are Starforts. Those exist to provide overlapping fields of fire meaning that no matter what side a force is attacking from they will always being taking return fire frim a defending force.
Pippen: "What if I told you there was a country in Europe that should be COMPLETELY underwater" Pippen literally right after: "Well in the Netherlands HALF of its terrain is below sea level"
It may be a good idea to redo your script for this video and do your own research. This video is riddled with mispronunciations and faulty information. Just as a couple of examples: Utrecht isn’t the capital of the Netherlands, that’s Amsterdam and I’m pretty sure the Atomium in Brussels wasn’t originally built to be “sciency” but for the world’s fair and to celebrate the atomic age. I just want your videos to improve because the visuals are stunning but the voice overs are like someone relayed this information to you and you just blindly go along with it.
It's not Amersfoot, it's AmersfooRt, it's not SchevEningen, it's SchevenIngen, it's not Atominium, it's Atomium, Utrecht is not the capital, The Hague is the capital
600k+ subscribers and only 10k views on a week old video *AND* you have to resort to rarted engagement farming tactics like obvious mispronunciation. Sad, bro.
If I was prioritizing this channels success, I would stop this series immediately and u-turn my current content trajectory with something totally different, since each video with its abysmal view-rate is killing my platform. But I said I would promote the community with this final series, and I will upload all of the episodes, even if it kills my channel. Also everyone can't seem to stop talking about the pronunciation. This series showcases hundreds, maybe a thousand different locations, figuring out how to basically speak that many names across over a dozen foreign languages is just an absurd expectation I feel, yet people expect it of me, and everyone seems so upset about it. I'm cool with it. I wont miss this.
