This isn't a cheap screen at all. In fact, it's pretty unexpected for it to be in a car. It's an OLED display. OLEDs have great color accuracy (not that it matters in a car), good blacks, and solid PRT.

Killing off a sedan? Get ya facts right if any of the full size luxury vehicles are getting discontinued it’s definitely the Lexus LS500. The G90 sells a lot in South Korea but can’t say that about the LS500 in Japan. G90 is here to stay. At this point I think the Genesis brand is more exciting than the Lexus brand. I’m intrigued about their Magma line up .

But Lexus will continue to dominate because they make the powertrains people want for the price and features they want. Looks are subjective and at the end of the day, Lexus offers the most for the money while lasting 4 times longer. Stupid people buy Genesis.

I do agree here. Genesis pretty much looks nice only in short term, but not much in the long term. I feel like the styling might be too much in my opinion. Since Infiniti is gradually getting some spotlight, I have more hope to recover real good if they make the right decisions.

@@joecrash1232Yeah, Infiniti is passed the darkest days whereas Genesis is yet to see darker days. At least Infiniti has finally listened to people and quit CVTs in newer cars (which was basically Infiniti’s downfall). Genesis isnt going hybrid and there’s not enough synergy between Hyundai to be able to profitably grow Genesis’s portfolio like Toyota did with Lexus. Lexus is unbeatable in profitability and selection because they optimize platform sharing whereas Genesis is wanna be Mercedes without the mass sales to sustain a Mercedes-like operation.

Well at the end of the day Lexus ain’t even a luxury brand anymore. Outdated techs and interior, poor performance engines lol. I wouldn’t touch any Lexus aside from the LC500. We can compare models to models and every time Genesis comes on top.

@@MrGeezil tech is not everything, 300,000 mile plus reliability, fit and finish, fuel economy, quality everywhere… I’ll probably never buy anything other than Toyota/Lexus ever again, I have had 10 of them in my 59 years, NEVER a problem with any of them (that wasn’t caused by auto crossing/track day in a 93 MR2 turbo 😂). Our current 21 Rav Prime is hands down the best vehicle we’ve ever owned, better than the 3 Lexi we have had, I can’t even think of anything that would make me want to trade it in (maybe a 2026 Rav prime💁)

@@jsanders299 I got a 20 G90 with 76k miles and no repairs whatsoever except regular maintenance. My 2009 Lexus LS 460 had just all the problems you could think of lol.

@@MrGeezilSouth Korea is a spit in the bucket. If the G90 continues, it would either be a money losing quest towards perfection or a budget limited mediocre product. Genesis doesn’t have the mass sales to support their current strategy.

It is artificial. Genesis has no history and Hyundai has a tarnished one with no lasting legacy. Their cars might look nice, but so does a Jaguar and they have a rich heritage that back up the egos who buy luxury cars to begin with.

General public couldn't tell you the difference if an SUV is body on frame or not. They just see 'big suv'

I love sedans, I had to settle for the hatchback Mazda3 instead of the sedan due to availability. Sure the extra practicality has come in handy a couple of times, but only a couple. That Mazda3 sedan is the closest they've come to putting their vision concept out on the market. The lower and more lithe form factor is just naturally more appealing, regardless of sales. And if it's a luxury or premium brand then that appeal is everything. Not to mention it's a subconscious luxurious flex to NOT be concerned about practicality. "I can afford to have a sleek form factor with a moderate trunk space and don't have to be concerned with a Costco run while I have 4 kids in the car" type of mentality. It sounds ridiculous but there are many who react in agitation or anger to someone getting a sedan or coupe that works for their needs instead of just getting something boxy and full of space regardless of actual need. They will vocalize it, and still object after the owner proves they don't need (insert SUV here), and sometimes it's clear they take that other person's choice personally. Not to mention all the concept vehicles and "design language models" being put out in sedans or coupes by companies only making SUVs. The Wildcat concept from Buick is refined and *shows* *true* *effort* in ways the Encore and the Envision fall woefully short. Even if it's a loss leader offering a quality sedan as the flagship is what separates the leaders from the followers.

It won’t be cancelled like I stated in the previous comments the LS500 will be cancelled before a G90. The G90 moves a lot of units in South Korea and you can’t say that about LS500 in Japan lol.
