A big thanks to Robbins Motors in the "Little Apple" Manhattan, Kansas for the 392 Wrangler... Always a great experience! Also thanks to my neighbor Tyler Potter for (reluctantly) letting me try out his TRX! Check out his video on my Murcielago! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2RNix8sQyyk.html

@gasolinediesel972
@gasolinediesel972 2 года назад
Ah yes, the old Chrysler reliability jokes that will never end. There are hundreds of thousands of Chrysler products that have hundreds of thousands of miles on them, oh but they don't last 100k miles. I'm not sure whether you're talking about the wrangler or the TRX, so I'll just assume both. The wrangler has a 6.4l hemi V8 engine. Simple pushrod engine. The most notable issues with this engine were the lifter failures, although this issue has since been corrected. There is virtually nothing to go wrong with the engine. ZF 8 speed transmission. Simple automatic transmission that is known for being reliable. It is a wrangler JL which had improvements to the suspension and frame to make it ride better and to prevent death wobble. Being a wrangler, it uses older Chrysler technology which is known to be pretty free of issues. There is really not much, if anything to go wrong on the vehicle. Now for the TRX. The TRX uses a 6.2l supercharged hemi V8 engine. This is also a simple pushrod engine. These engines aren't really known to have any issues. The TRX also uses the ZF 8 speed transmission which, like I said, is known to be reliable. The TRX uses IFS so it cannot possibly get death wobble, and there aren't any other issues with the suspension or frame. The TRX being a 5th gen Ram truck means that it uses more modern Chrysler technology, however, this tech has been around for a few years and most of the issues have been worked out by now. The 5th generation Ram trucks came out in 2019. There is a video series on youtube about a long term 2019 Ram 1500 with 125k miles that has not had major issues.

@@williamserver4332 Exactly. Where I live (Michigan) new Tesla's can't even be sold here legally. The few people here who own them have to purchase them out of state somewhere and there's virtually zero charging support for them or any other EV for that matter (aside from the dealership), so owners literally have to live somewhere that they can install a power source at home in order to use those cars. I like the idea of EV's but people who think they're going to rule the roads in 20 years are very short-sighted. Maybe in California where I hear that EV's are now as common as Camry's or F-150's, but the rest of America is hardly equipped and many consumers simply aren't interested or trusting of them.

They are absolutely cranking out those TRXs, and they're also making way more of the Grand Wagoneers than I ever would have imagined at an even higher price point. It makes sense since those models are the highest margin, and when you've got a limited supply of chips available, you make as many of those high margin vehicles as you can, and then you put whatever is leftover into the most popular models. The reason I know they're cranking them out is because I happen to work for Stellantis, and I provide IT support in their manufacturing facilities. Since the chip shortage has caused plants to shut down sporadically, I've spent some time helping out at other facilities, and I had the chance to work at SHAP where they build the TRX and WTAP where they build the Grand Wagoneer, and I saw a large number of both moving down the line. The 4Xe (pronounced four-by-ee) models are pretty sweet, because they've got lots of torque and way better gas mileage than the Pentastar. It's a lot more practical than the 392 Wrangler. The electrification stuff is gonna be a lot more exciting once the folks over in the Dodge division start doing their thing. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of years we see them putting out models that will blow the doors off of anything you can currently get from Tesla, which isn't as hard as you'd think, given the poor build quality of Tesla's vehicles. Even back in the day (late 70's - 90's) when Chrysler vehicles weren't known for their high build quality (they're actually winning awards for it now, so it's turned around since the previous merger with Fiat) they still weren't made nearly as bad as these Teslas that literally have bumpers falling off the vehicle when people are driving them off the lot.
