I have had alternators pack up with dust and chaff and actually catch fire. So, now I try to remember to blow out the alternators every now and then as they are air cooled with a fan. We also blast out the radiators and coolers with water, daily to avoid overheating. Love that netwrap.
@@Northern_Farmer I only once got a brand new roundbaler, it was a ferraboli fixed chamber. Maybe in 2001 it was a very good baler for silage Timothy but it got old and a lot of bales on it and now i got a vicon combi baler/wrapper that was used when i bought it. In between i did have a claas for a year but never ever again!!
Thanks for the video. My old Hesston 565a broke down on me five days in a row. Five. Days. In. A. Row! Yesterday I went to town and bought a JD 560M. It's going to be delivered in two days and I can't wait to put it to work!
Congrats on the new baler! It's amazing how fast the net wrap is. And those red tractors look just fine pulling the green equipment. The green ones break down too except the green boys don't like to admit it.
Congrats on the new baler. I hope you get your problems fixed, is always something when you have as much equipment as you do.. Good thing you have a lot of mechanic skills...... I wish for you good farming and stay safe, Shawn too....
@@Northern_Farmer yes in farming if not one thing it's the other... Here in PA. USA where I live we have had nice weather, but during June I think it rained everyday and super humid... I guess during the rain days you work on equipment and PM them so they keep running smoothly, at least that is what I'd do..... take care.....
Northern farmer Sunny and warm. 21 to 25 deg C Possible shower tomorrow then more sun. Our temperature really depends upon the breeze (or lack) from the ocean and how far from the water you are. 10 km east can be another 5 degrees warmer. Been running the weedee for the last hour around the shop and house before it gets any warmer. Cam
Your sure hard on alternator's lol... Just like anything else when its time it's time... Damn nice bailer Tyson you deserve it... Puts a ding in the pocket but it's worth it in the long run... Great video I enjoyed watching just how fast the new bailer with net wrap can be
Thats what im talkin about Ty. Net is the stuff. I remember you once said net wasnt good for your area due to frozen bales. I think youll find out its fine. But the worst winter we could ever have is probably your mild winter. Lol Keep the videos coming
Our 457 baler has the same monitor. We like the netwrap instead of string, I think it's easier on the throw out bearing. The bad part about net wrap over string is that it freezes to the ground and is hard to clean up in the spring. Thanks for taking us for a ride.
@@Northern_Farmer mushroom stacking.? Is that where you stack the bottom bales on there flat and the top bale goes on the round on top.?? I've only seen it done once where we live. Funny how some things catch on in different parts of the country and not in another.
@@Northern_Farmer try setting your wrap on 2.3 - 2.5, yes it uses slightly more of the wrap but that little bit extra really helps from them falling apart
I have a new 504r Vermeer your pickup is almost the same as mine love those rollers you can just go drop a bale and go again I have baled heavy hay dragging the booth of the tractor at 9 mph and if I would have had more power I probably could have gone faster but I was stopping in less then 50 yards to wrap so any more speed probably wouldn t have helped any but you should like that baler speed is night and day difference especially for me I went from a super I to the 504r
Thx for posting your vid. But your right you get to get her done, Hopefully before the rain. New lorn looks and work nice, Good for you Tyson & Shaun. Take care & God Bless
Best thing to do for those baler monitors is to hard wire them straight to your battery. We have a 569 premium and that baler would throw all kinds of goofy codes before we wired it to the battery
Congratulations on the new baler, nothing like new equipment. Looks like your smoking right along. Too bad other baler broke, you guys would have gotten lot more done. Thx for the video!!!
Funny you post this, my last video shows the violent end of my BR780A twine, so now i run a 568 net/twine and yeah running net is like the time you run a discbine instead of a haybine.
We got that same baker last fall! Sometimes have some trouble with the netwrap sticking. A little bit of baby powder does the trick! Need a 7280R on it ;)
we have a 560 m baler too and we just finished up bailing up wheat straw about 250 round bales. they are nice machines that produce quality bales. we have about 167 head of black Angus cattle we live in michigan.
Nice new gear! Congrats! But the breakdowns. Dang! If it’s not one thing it’s something else, huh. I got no dealings with round balers... Question: when u change density setting, what exactly is the mechanism inside the equipment to change it on the bale? More or less hydro pressure? Also I’ve seen people meander from side to side on the swaths? I seen Nick do that but figured it was on account of him drinking in the cab. But he says he don’t drink much, so 🤣 Anyway I guess that bar graph on the monitor tells u if she’s gettin lopsided? If so how does it know? Electronic eyes in there? Oh and that net wrapper don’t mess around, does it! Ha. Fast!
Hydraulic Pressure... Lol There are sensors on the two end belts one each side... When the bale has more hay one one side of it... the belt on the side with less hay will become loose...the sensor will show that and you move over to that side to fill it up.
I was wanting to know if you could do a video on how to hook up the hay mowers, hay rakes, and round balers and round baler monitors and how they work and operate and how to operate them and how to get them ready for hay season and a walk around and an overview of the tractors and hay equipment this summer?
The joys of farming everything hard at once. I used to round bale Ford 5000 and MF 1085 with no a.c. that colour red tractors are testing you lol you what the south Sask farmer says about those 🤣
@@Northern_Farmer yes it 42 with the humidity but haying weather we where all done with your little bit here 3 weeks ago just 1200 small squares and 60 4×5 rounds we didn't think we going get much because it was so cold and wet here in Ontario but heat came at right time
Tyson, congratulations on your new John Deere baler. Looks sharp and appears to make great round bales. Has to be fun. What is the analog gauge on the right side of the baler to the left of the apparent "rubber belts??" - Dean from Minnesota
On the 566 baler, I think if you have a machine shop make up a 4140 chrome moly shaft it won't break no more. Not sure if you still have it after this new one.
Look on the bright side you got you 50 bales and wear in period done quicker. That is one thing I don't like with our new Kubota when driving your hand or the steering wheel block the temp gauge that after my dad made a mega row which left me making 20 round 4ftx4ft bales in about 100 metres and it sucked a load of fine hay and seed heads up to plug the rad the first I knew was when the warning light and error code came on that I knew of a problem as I couldn't see the temp gauge. But at lease it was easy to fix by letting it cool down and cleaning the screens off and we end up with 184 bales off 10 acres which wasn't bad.
I thought you didn't like net wrap...I'm sure you had a video about it...and I didn't think you'd go for another JD but it looks great good job I wish my hay crop was that heavy
G Manloh I’m not going to argue with you I’m not from the USA or Canada but I’ve been a contractor for 30 years this year ,my ave bale weight is 550 kg for a 5x4 size bale up to 800 kg for a 6x4 . I use 4800 meter rolls of net wrap pink wrap to support breast cancer and my customers love my bales. Most of my baling is done at night to retain leaf and day bailing is only cereals.
I believe John Deere balers are the best. We keep extra bearings to fit every roll. If one goes out we fix it in the field and keep rolling. Nothing worse then hay on the ground broke down and see the rain coming :( It makes me have a bad attitude LOL
Not a chance :) The only reason we have extra bearings is because they will go out at some time and we try to be prepared for anything. We haven't had one go out in the field in years but if it should we are prepared.
We don't buy our parts from John Deere :) And all equipment will eventually tear up if you use it enough. That's just the nature of the beast. However I might add that we bought this baler from my Dad years ago and it still puts up a great bale !! It's hard to beat quality.
we did find if the dealership does not what to a deal there is the other option in colours lol we had green combines us sold them the green paint they were not going to very any deals we have 10 new red ones the JD dealership is bad at us not getting them from them we try we found out do not keep them at long less trouble with them 5 years we are trading them off
It doesn't freeze any worse than twine does. Used net for years and never had an issue. A little might stick to the bale once in awhile but even if it does it just pulls a bit of hay off the bale with it. The net wrap does not hold moisture.
Northern farmer There is cheaper than JD net . If you look on the internet , with as much as you will use . There’s volume discounts out there to . The time difference in net and waiting on twine is the difference tho . #GOPREDS
@@Northern_Farmer net wrap loves bale shredders and adores dung spreaders ........ mighty stuff to get a fire started in a stove in winter if its dry .....mix with a drop of diesel ............well ware with the new baler .....!!!!
@@Northern_Farmer Buy it out of season if you can and shop around. Some dealers will jack the price up just because they're jerks, others you'll be able to buy in bulk out of season at a discount, just store it out of the sun I've been told. We've not had good luck with other brand wrap than jd but also not tried them a lot.
