The new 70/SS is a custom production model now available by Trans Am Worldwide of Tallahassee, FL. Designed to pay tribute to the 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, the 70/SS is based on the GM alpha platform and comes in a variety of trim models, each with distinct characteristics of the 1970 Chevelle. Powertrain options range from the base 6.2 liter, to the heritage 396 or the limited edition 454 LS6X. Trans Am Worldwide outfits the new 70/SS with a full carbon fiber body, redesigned interior, reminiscent of the original and offers a variety of colors including a heritage line, originally available on the 1970 Chevelle. Modern tri-stage colors complete the list of over 20 available color options. Combined with a plethora of leather interior color selections for their customers to choose from, Trans Am Worldwide has made the new 70/SS a truly unique ordering and driving experience.

I had a 70SS 396 that was grey fern metallic with white rally stripes and was built for street/strip when i was in high school. 11.85 in the quarter mile @129 mph. Best car i ever had and i still kick myself for ever selling it. I ruled the streets with that car.

My Dear and beloved father STILL HAS his original 1964 Chevelle, He has it in a barn in San Juan Puerto Rico. The paint is not original. He had it repainted at least 5 times that I remember and it looks outstanding. Dad is now 84 and recently told me to “ Come get the car” He was a Jersey City police officer and giving us a great childhood, beautiful home and upbringing… This is his baby. Now he is passing it down to me. It will be back in New Jersey in August of 2024 Lord willing.

@@thephantomzoneboxing Nothing has changed the was the American economy works. Supply and demand is what controls the price. Not only that this is far from the same car. It looks like the 70s cars but all the technology is from today dependability, suspension, brakes, handling, twin turbo, the amount of horsepower is putting out, then you go back to my original comment it's a matter of how many are available and how many people want one that's what affects the price.

Being a former owner of multiple Chevelle's ( 70 SS 396, 70 307 Malibu, 70 350 Malibu, 71 SS 350, 72 4 door Malibu hardtop, 68 SS 396, 67 SS 396 with a L-88 427) this brings a tear to my eye. You captured the pure essence of the 70 in a modern interpretation. It's beautiful, although I can still dimensionally see the Camaro underneath, but that's not a deterrent, it's almost a necessity for a modern platform. Waaaaaay out of my league price-wise, but there's always the hope of hitting the Mega-Millions Jackpot. Yeah... I know, I ain't holding my breath lol. I guess I'll just have to make do with my 77 Impala with 525 rwhp until then. Awesome job recreating a true muscle car icon!

Sixteen in 1974, first car '68 Mustang 289. Two things really miss from that era - chromed steel bumpers & fat tires. Think were icons of the era. Have actually seen one photo of a "steel" front bumper on the 2024 SS's, but suspect like everything now it's chromed plastic.

I was a staple at John Calvert’s house since a little kid, his Dad , Robert “Bob” Calvert was USMC Force Recon, my Dad was 101st. My dad had to work a lot and trusted Sgt. Calvert to teach us be good men. Bob always took the initiative to help others and do the job right. His son followed that track very well. In my eyes, Sgt. Calvert was a local legend and national hero. He inspired us- my brother and I are cops and firefighters. We wish could do more. John Calvert was made for this and is a good man. The apple didn’t fall from the tree at all… it rose upward. Love you brother. Proud of you. I know your pop would love to see this. Well done.

Stunning work gentlemen. I keep thinking a small chrome bumper on the front and rear would break up the front and rear fascias and just add a bit of complexity and class....wrong? Still completely enamored

AGREED! I've thought for long time now that the newer Challengers would look awesome with thin chrome 'bumpers' front and rear.

I agree. The bumper area needs some more finessing. Otherwise nice. Also, the hardtop would be the one I would want.

What beautiful capture in time to relive. The car is the most amazing I have seen in a while. I personally was a Cutlass man but loved GM cars period. This reborn is perfect to me until I saw the front end. I think You guys could have made it a little more sexy. The Bumper pertruded more in the center on the original. This modle looks like one big easy way out wrap still an Amazing piece of machinery.

I 100% agree about the '70 Chevelle. When I was a kid in the '70's - early '80's that was one of the top cars for teen drivers to get for their first car. Black, white stripes, raised in the rear a little, deep dish Cragar SS's in the rear, standard in the front, lettered tires, and chrome tip duals out the rear. To really top it off, a racing cam to make the idle sound throaty hit-and-miss. The thing is, for the time, these cars were already expensive. Where you could buy a typical used car for $500-$750, these were often $1500. A LOT of money back in circa 1978! HAHA.

I practically had one handed to me for $1200 - BUT, I didn't have the money & my local bank wouldn't lend it to me. I'm probably still alive because I was too immature at that time to be driving a car like that..

When you account for inflation, in 1970 a Chevelle SS was about the price of a Honda Civic Si today.

I don't know Joseph when I was a kid my father bought a 1980 Buick skylark brand new for 8,000 bucks 4 door not a sport's car so I'm pretty sure a car like this would be more expensive and that was just a two year difference but then again there's always Google haven't checked but correct me if I'm wrong

The target market is all the retirees that wish they had that car when they were teenagers. Now that they have their money that they saved ,they either want to race the car or invest it, keep it and maybe hold on to it for their children. Unfortunately there's a low amount of cars that are going to be made so therefore a lot of people won't get the chance being able to buy one. You won't be able to make them fast enough and I'm sure the price is going to be through the ceiling Great design Good luck

Great work. Really unfortunate that the executives at GM can't figure it out on their own. Rather a smaller company has to produce what the public really wants. John Delorean must be laughing in his grave at this point. Plate C

I was born in 1970, but when I was 12 years old I remember my mom had a 1970 Chevelle SS in green color, that car was so cool, I remember that was she was driving that thing in every roads and highways in Puerto Rico, truck drivers used to blow their horns as we were passing by them, like saying to my mom girl you got big cojones driving that thing, good job bringing back an iconic and cool car!

Indeed, but of course it´s a question of costs. Come to think of it, some years ago i read about a swedish hotrodder who somehow managed to get one-off body panels of aluminum pressed for his Deuce with an advanced computerized hydraulic panel press normally used to produce body parts for the Gripen fighter aircraft. It used some sort of water filled rubber bags (remember, water can´t be compressed) and as i recall could be set to make most any common shape for these uses. Maybe a technique that could be used if these things take off in a larger scale?
