Ya for sure I had the American bass elite 12 witch was only 170$ new and now I have a ds18 exl 12 witch was 430$ and isn't much louder but that's probably cause I need to get a box built
I've been looking at buying a couple of these!! Parker I always watch, and enjoy all of your video's!! I always take your word, and bc of that I bought the Elite 1244's!! I've loved them every since I got them!!
They look the exact same as the older, now cheaper version and I can assure you they handle more than 2200. Mine have for 4 years. The coil epoxy looks more evenly applied on the older ones too. To be fair I’d have to really research them to be sure they’re the same. Motor, coil, venting, direct leads, all the same to the naked eye.
@@TheDoozie43 Thanks for the info!! Been rocking 2 American Bass Elite 1244's for about 2 years on a Taramps Smart 3k!! They take every bit of power from that amp, all Sky High OFC wire, Big 3, Sky High lugs, and I've haven't had 1 problem outta them!! I got them after watching Parkers review!! They're in a 99-06 EXT Cab Silverado Subthump Ultra Deep downfire sealed box!! Hell they shake the hell outta my truck!! Looking at doing a suv build with 4 of the new Monster HD 12's on 2 Taramps Smart 5's!! You think that setup will slam or what amplifiers would you consider that are some what budget friendly?
@@bobbymaner4113 Just curious what size is your sealed box for those subs??! I'm thinking about going with a pair of subs in a sealed box, and then at least one more Sub in a decent size box ported nice and low. Figuring that might get me some good, tight bass way down with the sealed subs, and then some more loud, hard hitting bass from the big'ish ported box. Plus of course plenty of mids and highs to keep up with the slamming lows of the subs for a great sounding system with any and all types of music!
@@BabyCharlotteschannel I went to Subthump and got the ultra deep silverado box. Best sealed box I've ever bought. Not 100% on all the measurements but I do know its 1.3 cubes on each side.

@@Juggernaut-fg2up I believe most of the sundown setups I have seen have only been setup for SPL instead of going for low tuning in a decent sized box for a pretty flat curve throughout the bass spectrum.. I'm sure there are some who've set them up for good SQ but more seem like they're just going for loud as possible and that's it. I gotta have my setups sound great with everything from Pantera to Dr Dre, to Alice in Chains and so much more. So as much as I want total chest pounding bass it's gotta sound good, and enough mids and highs to hear it all clearly!
You've definitely tried out way more than I have, but whether it's subs or boxes there are definitely differences in the lows, punchiness or boominess and overall sound. From my experience the car dictates where it's going to peak more than anything else
Parker guess what? You have to get American Bass best new subwoofer. It's called the King and handles over 6500 rms watts and it comes with a gold basket!!🤩 it has a 4.5 inch coil
Just from the video, it looks like the old one has round windings on the coil. When you zoomed in on the new one it looked like it has flat windings. Same as the sundown. The new version got flat wound coils.

SoundQubed has always been my favorite budget subs. Can't beat what u get for the price. I have 4 15s walled and I'm out there every day meeting up with fellow bass heads and I'm Killin em. I just met this guy, lives here in Gary and he's got the cash to spend. He wants a 6th order with 6 zv6's. Man if I build this for him, I'm gonna have to step up my game tremendously or I won't be the loudest round no more.
@@BOOSTJUNKY No. I didn't build it for him. He didn't realize how much it was gonna cost. It's all good. I stay busy. I told him I'd give him another estimate but for a no-wall build with 4 to 6 15s but he never replied. There's no way he's gonna be a threat unless he comes up with alot more cash.
Yeah for sure! I had a killer 10+ year old 12" sub, although in a kinda crappy prefab box and then a nice CT Sounds 15 Tropo in a bigger low tuned box, off the same amp at w total load of .8 ohms and it was really great sounding for all kinds of music I listen to. I'm hoping to have an even harder hitting, nice sounding system this time around!
I hear good things about American bass.. Im solid on my loyalty to my 2 15" db drive wdx g5.4 3k rms Watts each. I have them in a 4th order enclosure tuned at 30-40 Hz on a Taramps bass 5k amp with a lithium 14 volt battery for the amp alone. Dynomatted the whole roof and all four doors to rid if the flex and rattle. Flex is still there but the rattle is nil... Neighborhood hates my guts.
I've got like a 10 year old HD18 in a big low tuned box. Surprisingly good sounding, and hit hard. Love it, but it seemed to want more than the 1200watts I had going to it.
@@Kyle-j7k2u Yeah I think I remember people saying they should be ok with 2k or so. May end up going with more power an using it again. It did sound good to my ears and hit lows really well.
can i just say... i'm jelly you have the new hd & it perks me up to hear how much you like them for their BANG per buck lol...that 3.3 coil is such a nice addition to an already great sub. thanks for giving it the beans as you always do lol. you should check out american bass's lower line stuff too. looking forward to the next vid bro.
should tighten the hatch and license plate up with some adhesive foam or deadener for a few extra DB's and sound quality brother, only takes a few minutes for one of the best SQ upgrades and is truly immediately noticeable! Keep up the vids and content man, one of the last channels around that truly keeps it 100% real besides a few of the other legend's on sound reviews and dyno's!! I’ve always asked myself why Parker doesn’t have foam or sponge or rubber behind his plate. There is about 10 different ways to stop that noise all together but he refuses lol. And for the record I don’t get why people continue to face the port and or the subs toward the back hatch. It’s about how good it sounds not the stupid meter score.
Parker the Bass head..... I know this video has some age to it, but I just acquired two of these in 10". What did you use to connect the wires coming from the sub to the amp wires? Crimped ring terminals with small bolts?, Butt splices?, Barrel splices? Appreciate the help.

Fk that ive got 2 vfl comp signature dual 1 ohm 12s totally not worth it smh 1800 in 2 12s n um ya it takes a beating but not for that kinda money. Robot underground makes a tiny bit better 12s much better warranty 3 years actually. His shit is really cool check him out parker.

There probably specing out the actual voice coil diameter. My 18s 3" 8 layer coil diameter is like 3.32" if im remembering correctly, my 10s 4 layer coil was like 3.21" or 3.18" something I can't remember at the moment.
Hey maybe you can help me out with a question seeing Steve Mead and Old school stereo don't seem to reply to questions or comments. I have a 1997 Rockford Fosgate Punch Power 500.2 that does 330@4 per channel 675@2 per channel and 1455@4 bridge and I'm trying to figure out what power handling Sub should I be looking for to run a single 12 dual 2 ohm. I used to run a pair of Rockford fosgate hx2 Punch 15s on amp but I got a smaller car now and I just want to run a single 12 in I'm trying to find something that's not really expensive but something that's not going to burn up what would you recommend?
Hello, I have a ported box tuned to 30hz for (4) Skar EVL "10 woofers, what is the best but cheapest amp I can get? Should I get one large amp (eg. 8k) or two smaller ones (eg. 2 4k's) and bridge them? Is Lanzar any good?

I drive a Camaro so trunk space is very limited I do have 1 12 inch skar 1250 rms running on a 3000 watt Hifonics amp I still feel like I want more Bass if I were to upgrade to this sub what kind of amplifier should I buy I feel like the Hifonics doesn't power enough
Nice I love it!!! 🔊 I still running my 2 18" Soundqubed HDX3 but now I have the proper box for them. Its a $600 Atrend USA prefab box that was shipped on a pallet 18 wheeler to my house!! "That American bass subwoofer and the HDX3 are very similar but the Soundqubed moves more air"
@@bobbyackerson4125 For what a prefab will give you, they're pretty good. Had a sealed single 12 box from them that everyone gave compliments about how smooth it sounded. If I was going the prefab route with my next build, I'd likely go with them again. Just gotta match the right sub with the right enclosure... And I ordered mine from them via Amazon.
The HD's have had several models. Early ones had a 3" coil. I just reconed my V1's, or prior model and they had the 3.3" coil like the V2's. Never blown one but the spider did tear on a couple of them. I just reconed 4 with the V2 coils and they are physically identical other than the red spider and less black glue on the coil itself. The last HD model with black basket is the same motor as the V2.

I got a single American Bass E1244 dual 4 ohms. I tested the sub and it is reading at 4.6- 4.7 ohms at each coil and 2.8 ohms at 2 ohms. Is that good or bad?
Sounds like they finally rated them correctly lol. Look the same other than the blue paint. They still have a 3” coil, but they counted the wire to make them sound bigger. No one will make a proprietary 3.3” coil. Too expensive. I’ve been pushing over 2500rms to each of my older 1500 rms rated Hd 12s for 4 years on strong electrical. Great sub either way though. Like an angry gorilla in the trunk 👍🏻
Why are there no Sd measurements on AB, Sundown, Ampere Audio, etc. ?? I can't mo del them in winISD because there's no Sd values. Is there a way for me to calculate it?
I've made my mind up.. this is the one well two of em, upgrades for my home 3ways till the new ride turns up. " get some quality earbuds in and you really can hear the quality of thi sub i comparrison plus it bangs man thats for sure... earbuds are definitely more imersive than over the ear phones.. I'm on lyndon mentioning G because it sound like im stood in his frickin garage, wahoo new buds man n new subs pay day...
Hey parker been watching and im an absolute fan!! Great work and always so positive. I was wondering if you could review the resilient sounds subs. I have 2 gold 12s and they are absolute monster subs. There isn't a whole lot of reviews on them and what a more perfect way to get a review out there for all those who are curious.
Will never happen ive been begging for over a year to do a gold 12 or even a damn entry 12 even said id awt him up with the owner but still no RS there's not a company ive seen that can match or come close to even the RS Golds performance esp dollar to dollars and another great thing with RS if you bring it up and talk with owner unlike sundown esp kicker skar. AB. He wil give you deals he being the Owner like myself i can get gold 15s for well under 200 a peice. If i buy x amount..and you get to talk straight to owner dfor any problems n concerns not some hot line or writing a email and waiting a week or more to hear back. He will contact you back prolly same day if not within next business day. Extremely nice .knows his products and is honest. Great guy.
